I have gone to this barber shop for years. I have always gotten a great haircut and the women barbers are always friendly and talkative.

Why did I not find this place before? They are awesome. I will definitely go back for a friendly smile and treatment and an awesome haircut.

I always go to Miss Kim but I've had my hair cut by the other stylists there and they always got me on point.

I will definitely be coming here again.

Here's how my most recent trip to this salon went! I came in…read morea week prior for a consultation to see if someone would be able to do a stark blonde balayage for my hair and was immediately directed to Emma. I made it clear that I had black box dye in my hair a little over a year and a half ago. They said no worries. Cut to a couple days ago, I went in, showed the reference photo again (simple, very dark on top, very blonde on the bottom) and made sure to ask for the blonde to be higher up because I wanted more blonde but to still have dark roots. I explicitly stated to her, "I want it to look like I went fully blonde and it's grown out, but smoother." She nodded and acknowledged me so I know she heard it. I'm thinking she should do a test strand beforehand since I made it clear I had color before but what do I know. I'm not the stylist. I decide to let her do her thing. She got about a quarter of the way through my hair before I was told that the photo example was too old for me which ??? I don't care? Give me what I asked for. Do you think I don't look at my reference pics? I notice that she hasn't put a lot of my hair that should be in foils in them so I ask her about it and get told rather bluntly "don't worry about it". Okay, whatever, she's the "master hairstylist" right. I sit there for a while and eventually she comes back and visibly winces at my hair before moving me to the sink and doing another round of heavy bleach. She hasn't told me what she's doing, or if I want what she's doing to be done. Eventually they come back and she has her assistant rinse me before they begin to brush me out so they can tone me. When I look in the mirror I see stark blonde highlights all the way up to the root. I hate highlights. I was never asked about highlights. After about 20 minutes of her yanking at my scalp (I have actual sore spots all over my head now, though her assistant was lovely and very gentle) she finally slathers the toner in and I'm deciding to trust the process. The assistant washes my hair and I just want to get dried and get out of there so I sit down and she asks if I want layers (my hair is still wet so I don't know what color it is yet) I ask to skip it but she insists we do layers and curls because "it makes the color look so much better". End of haircut - there aren't layers. I'm just missing significantly more hair than I asked to be cut off. Oh also! I'm just as brunette as I went in, except now I have gross orange highlights (my least favorite color AND my least favorite dye job, she hit all the marks!) and I can't stop crying. When I went to the manager she called Emma over who tried to pin the blame on me repeatedly and then lied saying that I said something that I didn't say. When I objected (this was the first time I spoke during this conversation, my mom had been taking to them) she said, incredibly rudely, "well we have cameras". Yeah, pull up the cameras. Let's see you making me lose more hair from yanking on it than the bleach. When we were finally paying and wrapping up she went on about how expensive and top of the line their products were. Pro tip! You would make more money if you used your top of the line products to give your customers what they want. They offered to have me come back in after a few weeks for another lightening treatment but I really don't trust them not to just fry my hair off. If she had just done a test strand and asked if I wanted what she was about to do to me, I could've saved over $300. TLDR: I paid $300 for a blonde balayage, I left still brunette but with ugly orange highlights, bleach damage, and less hair than I've had in a while. Feel free to come here! Just don't expect to leave with what you asked for. Pictures are of the result and the reference photo.

Made an appointment with Makayla on September 22nd for 9 am on Oct 20. When I call for directions…read moreshe was rude. As I arrive at salon she says I never confirmed. In looking back over texts I said ok. To me that is confirmation.

Lisa (owner), My husband has worked customer service for…read morethe better part of 20 years. This is not just a situation of he said / she said. I provided a picture of the hair and Dominique conceded over the phone that the price was provided AFTER the style was complete. The right thing to do, as an owner, would be to acknowledge the misstep and provide something to make it up to the customer. There are several "red herrings" in your response so let me bring you back to the main 2 points: quality of the style and taking advantage of a young person. Quality: Using your updated information. I draw attention back to the picture on the same day of the style and now ask, "This is a $568 haircut?" There is no hint of professional styling here. The hair barely looks like there was a little 'sun-in' on her ends. Please see the attached picture what it should have looked like. Frankly, this doesn't look like a $30 style. It looks like it was a rush-job completed by someone with little to no experience. The trim should have been at the beginning NOT after the balayage - since that means Ingrid removed some of the treated hair. My daughter asked for an inch to be taken off and the bottom rounded. However, nearly 2 inches were cut off and the hair is NOT rounded at the bottom, like she asked, it comes to an off center point (see pic). Again, I ask "this is a $568 hairstyle?" Taking Advantage: You seem to have concentrated on assessing the full cost of the actual style rather than how the up charges were applied without the express knowledge of the customer. Dominique already confirmed this point with my husband when he called. So, outlining your costs as if the quality justifies those cost does not discount that my daughter was not expressly informed that the price would more than double until after the style was nearly complete. It comes down to communication. Any responsible business would clearly illustrate how much more expensive instead of just stating a service "will cost a little more." My point about her being young was that a more mature, savvy person would have been more wise to your subtle con, asking "how much more?" when Ingrid was intentionally vague or just lazy to get the price. Again, Ingrid provided a partial consultation focused on color with little regard to price only providing a $352 price tag AFTER the style was being finished up. 1. Retrain your people on the parameters of a consultation. 2. Train them on the proper order of styling so you are not wasting product on hair that is then cut off to decorate your floor. 3. If you want to do what's right here, you would honor the $140 initial estimate plus $20 which would be in line with what Ingrid said, "the balayage will be a little more." 4. As far as the lack of tip, are you really highlighting the lack of a tip when both the quality and the way Dominique and Ingrid handled the situation warrants a tip? Entitled much?
