Exceptional Colorist! After a 5h drive to my first appointment with Gina, professional stylist and owner, all I could hope for is that I would return to VA better than I arrived in NC. After an ill attempt with YouTube and our local beauty supply store, "S" , I had turned my hair from an appropriately aging professional to an orange,red,pink, and black punk rocker. My hair was horrible. Gina completed an online consult before me arriving and assured me we could improve on the situation but it would take several sessions, as I wanted to go from a level 5 to an 11!!! Her professional demeanor and incredible knowledge regarding hair types, needs, and customer wants put me at great ease. So after a hot cup of coffee (beverages offers at salon for all clients) I was so relaxed and confident in her skills. The end product was sheer genius. The salon atmosphere is calming, comfortable, and elegant. I look forward to my next appointment and a lifelong relationship with Hair Original! Kudos also to Kierra that assisted in shampooing, conditioning, and supporting Gina. Kierra has a beautiful spirit and her hands massaged my scalp to glory and back. My boyfriend and I stopped through Charlotte for a spell before heading into South Carolina that evening for our weekend drill with the Army. I had decided to go natural and needed a stylist that knew how to do natural hair (had some bad experiences with old stylists) I typed in natural hair stylist into Google and the name was at the top of my screen so I called (with skepticism of course) Gina answered and was VERY professional, knowledgeable, and courteous! It was a warm conversation and once I walked in the door she had a stylist name Joanna waiting for me. They did a fantastic job too! I had tried my hair at Bantu knots before and it didn't last, but once Joanna put her hands in my hair, she worked wonders!!!! now accomplished the same technique here at home and so the next time I stop into Charlotte, I will stop at Gina's for a style GREAT WORK LADIES!!! I was referred to Hair Original 2000 about 2 months after being mistreated at another salon. I called Gina and she was able to see me the same day I called her. I have had Lupus for 23 years and my hair gradually started thinning around my edges. I had just started wearing weaves, by doing that I was making my hair even thinner. Gina looked at my hair and asked me had I ever tried to wear my own hair in some areas of my head, so that my hair could breath and not cover my entire head. I told her no other stylist ever gave me any options. That's what happens when a persons cares about their clients and when someone just cares about getting paid. For the last few years I have been dealing with breakage. I work out and have to wash my hair quite often which caused more damage to my hair. After coming to Hair Original, Gina started treating my hair to get it back strong. I was always interested in adding weave, but never knew much about it. Gina took the time to explain the process of how she sews the hair in without braiding so that my natural hair would continue to grow strong and healthy. She helped me to pick out the right hair, length and style for my face and life style. She also took the time to make sure I understood step by step everything she was doing and that I was very comfortable with the process. I love my new hair and I receive compliments everywhere I go. I was referred here by one of my co workers at work and found out that they were the BEST hair salon in Charlotte! The stylists here really take their time with you for everything from the wash to the cut and styling. I had an A+ experience here and I highly recommend it for any hair service you are looking for. My long layer, cut with Gina was $70 for a wash and cut plus styling if I wanted it. She really listens to what you are looking for and then offers some options based on her expertise and knowledge of your hair. She won't do anything without your approval and continually checks in with you. The staff is welcoming and more then enough professional. Definitely will be back here for more cuts, and based on my experience, I would feel very confident about their other services here as well (color, perm, treatments).
