My experience at Melissa's salon was very pleasant. I did't know what to do with my hair, because it was extremely damaged with severe breakage, from multiple attempts at going natural and heat damage, resulting with breakage where the relaxed hair met with the natural hair. This was at least my 4th attempt at going natural, but I was about 2 seconds from putting another relaxer in my hair, when my sister found Melissa. THANK GOD!!! Melissa is very pleasant, professional, and her shop is nice and clean. I met with Melissa for a consultation, which she informed me it would be easier if I got rid of the permed hair to help my natural hair thrive, while also making it easier to style and maintain. I finally took her advise and she cut off the relaxed hair, dyed and applied an Oleplex deep conditioner. My hair immediately looked 100% more healthier. I wanted to try the Silk n Press, to see how it looked and how long it lasted on my hair, and was very happy that she didn't use extreme heat while blowing me out, because I'm very tender headed. My hair looked like I had a relaxer, very light and full of body with movement. It's nice knowing I still have the option of wearing my hair straight or with curls if I want to, without all the chemicals. I have two sisters and we all LOVE!!! LOVE!!! LOVE!!! Melissa. I went in for a consultation with Melissa prior to getting my hair done here. She explained everything in detail about a color correction including costs, approximate time, and what it would do to my hair. I am very anxious but Melissa explained that I should wait three weeks for the best integrity of my hair, and what products to use. I'm glad I did. Melissa always keeps the quality of your hair a priority. When I went back for my appointment, she was very helpful, pleasant, kind, and a great multitasker. She worked HARD all day (I was there for a while because my hair was a corrective color and required more work). I did not see her sit down once. She was constantly working to keep her customers moving through and happy. And she did it with a genuine smile and a great attitude. The other stylist in the salon, Beverly, was working hard as well and I saw nothing but consistently beautiful work walk away from her chair in addition to Melissa's. I am extremely pleased with my hair and everything Melissa did to make sure it stayed healthy and stylish. She also honored the coupon that was on her Instagram advertising a free Olaplex service. Elita is a wonderful hairstylist and I have known her for years. Although I have visited her in the city and not at this specific location I do know she values her time and your happiness as a customer. I read a review on YELP which left me thoroughly confused by Taileah R. I was wondering if the stylist was working on a clients hair at the time should she stop and answer personal calls, Instagram messages and or emails? If she canceled your appointment the day of, via "a hardly used email address" where did she get he email address from? Is that the one you were emailing her from? Also, if she canceled the day of- was it because you were late due to you not knowing the area? Where you not able to use the GPS? Well, all I can say is if I need to go to Wappinger Falls to reach Elita for an appointment, I would do so in a heartbeat. I discovered Hair Peace Salon after doing a Google search for salons that work with curly hair, and I'm so glad I did. After YEARS of struggling with my hair, mostly trying to do it on my own, I had a consultation with Melissa, the owner, and she came up with a plan of action for how to restore my hair to its natural glory. After just the first visit, my hair went from damaged and unevenly colored, to healthy and shiny. I've been seeing Melissa regularly for six months, and my hair has never looked better. Her prices are reasonable and the salon is clean, and comfortable -- best of all, she has snacks (as well as coffee and tea)! I can't express enough what a gem Hair Peace is. I had been wanting to get a devacut for a while but never had the chance to. Thanks to Melissa, she was able to make my dreams come true, which was much more local for me as well. My experience was nothing but amazing and I enjoyed every second of it. Not only did I get a haircut but I was able to get an olaplex treatment and a very nourishing deep treatment with fortifynaturals, all with some steam added for some extra penetration and moisture. The reshape came out awesome and I'm loving how my hair is falling a week later. Thank you once again Melissa for squeezing me in last minute. MELISSA IS AN AMAZING HAIRDRESSER!!! It can be so hard to find a hairdresser that listens to what you're asking for and works with you to give you what you want. But she is such a good communicator-I felt so comfortable with her. And her knowledge on techniques and hair types is incredible. I felt like she really understood my hair and what it can do. Melissa was my stylist for many years and I never had one bad cut or relaxer! Love, love LOVED having her. She does an amazing job. She actually cares about your hair and treats it as needed and will even tell you straight-up if something you want done will damage it or just won't work for your texture. I love that about her! I wish I had the option to rate hair peace 10/5. First of all, I have thick coarse natural hair that I find very hard to manage. I had an emergency needed an appointment, of course I was nervous, I had never been here before. The shop is clean and charming. Not only did Melissa take me last minute but she did a phenomenal job caring for my hair. She was very professional, kind and gave me a lot of pointers on hair care. Melissa did an awesome job on my hair for several years. The only reason I stopped going to her was because I was moving to Africa and couldn't take her with me! Her professionalism and attentiveness were unmatched. She is very thorough, takes her time, but is one of the fastest stylists I ever had. My hair was in tip top shape when she did it.
