I moved to Fishkill about a year and a half ago and I was debating whether to try Salon Doriano. A friend of mine highly recommended them. Well here I am, super duper happy with the results. I have very curly hair and I left it to the owner to do what he thought was best. The color came fabulous, all my grey roots are gone. He cut and styled my hair in a great way , that makes me look younger( always a good thing)! as per my friends. I just moved to the Fishkill area and decided to try out a new salon and chose Salon Doriano after seeing the mostly great reviews. I called the day of and I got an appointment the same day because there was a cancellation. When I got to the salon I realized I had actually been there before a year prior! I was in a wedding party(maid of honor) and we actually had all the girls hair and makeup done by the hairdressers at Salon Doriano. At the time I was living 6 hrs away. The hair and makeup for everyone came out great and everyone was completed in time -- STRESS FREE. So now that I find myself back here I was pretty excited. My hair was kind of a two toned ombré mess before stepping into the salon and I honestly wasn't even sure how to fix it so it looked healthier and flowed better. My appointment was with Melissa and she was amazing. Besides being super easy to talk too, she really knew what she was doing and completely transformed my hair. I'd say i'm not usually the easiest to please when it comes to my hair but I absolutely love my new hair color and cut. I don't usually write negative reviews, but I want potential customers to be warned. I wanted to love this place because it's so close and the prices are fair, but unfortunately they have disappointed me too many times. I gave this place 5 different times to get my hair right (root touch-up). Every single time, I end up with orange roots. I've never experienced this before with any other salon. I don't know why this keeps happening, but it's very frustrating. They still can't do a simple root touch-up without me getting comments from people that my roots are orange. It's embarrassing and a waste of time and money. To be fair, when I noticed the color was off the last time, the stylist said I could come back within a week to get it fixed. However, I just can't waste any more time sitting there. I need to find a place that can fix this. The only reason I gave two stars is because the staff are nice. Also, just a heads up, the stylist you make the appointment with is not usually the person that mixes and/or applies your hair color, which is a little strange to me. read more

Have been to Salon Doriano for a few haircuts before. A wash, cut, and style (blowout, curl, straighten) was around $50. Recently went in for the same: a wash, trim, and style. This time asking for a curl and half up half down hairstyle as I was going to an event. Get to the counter and am asked to pay around $140. An extra hundred dollars just to put my hair in a simple half up half down?! Maybe I shouldn't have told them that it was for an event. Either way, a ridiculous up-charge for a style that took 4 bobby pins and a few sprays of hairspray. After I questioned the charge, they brought it down a BIT. But I shouldn't have been asked to pay that amount in the first place. Won't be going back. read more

Over all love the salon. I've been going here for years but the price keeps going up!! It seems that every time I go it increases $20 to $30. The last time I went I paid $200 for a full head of highlights and a few weeks back they charged me $230 for the same haircut. About seven years ago it was only 140 for a full set of highlights. (I have medium length hair). The girl who I usually go to is truly an expert and I always give an outstanding tip but idk why the prices keep going up!!! It's definitely trying to be NYC prices for Fishkill NY. Come on it's Fishkill!! The one thing that really bothers me is that they don't have any prices listed on their website on their website so it seems like they just throw numbers at you at the end which I find extraordinarily unprofessional. I know that all of the hair stylist and Doriano work really hard ,but for a good paying client for about seven years you would think that they would keep the price for you about the same just because you have stuck with them for so long :/ as much as it does stink because their work is really great but the way that they have treated me as someone who has always paid well and tipped very well I don't think that I will be back anytime soon. read more

I asked for highlights for the first time ever and Sarah really knocked it out of the park. She cut and colored my hair exactly how I wanted. I will definitely go back to this place the next time I get highlights. read more

I had a really positive experience my first time there with a cut from Melissa (she's a pro with the Wand - I even went home and bought one right away because she made my hair look so amazing). However, the next time I went and paid a ton to Gabriella to go blonde and then pinkish after the blonde sessions - specifically a warm rose gold. Instead she took magenta (which if you don't know is a completely different color with cool purple tones not warm peachy tones). Anyway, she just mixed magenta with conditioner and watered down the color. It wasn't what I wanted, it was super light and not the right shade and it was basically gone after one wash. I messaged her about how I felt, very kindly, and was hoping she would at least explain or offer to tone it to what I had asked. I had spent a ton of money and it was a gift because I can't afford that myself. She didn't respond at all. Completely ignored me - and we had been in touch over social media so she definitely got it. After some time had passed I decided to give Melissa (the first stylist I had) another shot because I've seen her color and cut skills - and after speaking with her about what I wanted she gave me advice and told me to call and make an appointment with her, so I did. Then I received a call from the receptionist that I had been moved to Gabriella for the appointment. I got in touch with Melissa and explained the situation, that I wasn't happy with the work from Gabriella and would love to work with her again - and she never got back to me. I spent a ton at this place since moving here a few years ago, I never went anywhere else. I was always so kind and considerate (and loyal) so no way is this because I'm a negative customer - I even wrote and promoted them quite a bit prior to this. Find somewhere else in my opinion, they also always end up being more expensive than quoted. The only reason I'm giving two stars is because I've seen a lot of their work and Melissa especially is talented regardless of other issues. read more

We have been going to him ever since. He listens to you and does exactly what you want and more. The salon is clean and always busy.
