Let me start off by saying I've never been treated here, but my sister is going to be today. The reason why I give it a 5 star right off the bat is because Litanne, the hair stylist my sister has gone to since she was a baby, just moved to this location. She's AMAZING. I've never met anybody who treats each one of her clients like they're family, and takes as much patience and care as she does with each one of them. She's known my family for I don't even know how many years now, and even though I only see her from time to time, it's always like catching up with an old friend - she's great! She does amazing work as well, so it's not just her personality that shines. The salon itself is small and cute - don't let the fact that it's in the middle of small strip mall drive you away. I used to be the type to be able to get talked into buying things when I was pressured and Im glad I am not that type now. I called ahead of time because I was looking for a quick place to get my hair trimmed before I headed towards traffic by my house. I told her that I'd be there within 15 mins and she said thats fine. When I arrived through the door 13 minutes after she called me to say she was going to be 10 minutes late. I said that was fine since I was already there not knowing she wasnt going to be there! (SOOO a side note: I love my hair! I am a mixed girl and I used to straighten it alot because I was insecure about it. I've learned the past few years to embrace my frizz and love it for all it has to offer.) The lady asked if I wanted a Brazilian blow out and I said no its okay. Then she said if I wanted to straighten it. I said no I like my hair how it is. She then continued with what she was going to do with the trim and right before I got up to go wash it, she said then we will straighten it. :( WTF in my head I was pretty frustrated she didn't even get to know me and what my wants were. I politely said no I don't want to straighten it I just want a trim. She washed it and I asked her to take as little off as she could because I'm trying to grow my hair out but I just need to trim it to get the split ends out. YES I knew my hair was kind of crooked and was longer on one side but I didn't care because once its all long enough, I will even it out. I just wanted to take a little off all around to help the split ends. She then continued through the whole hair cut talking about the Brazilian blow out and how it will make my hair better. I told her I was a single mother that was a new widow on my way home down south. She's trying to sell me an expensive service that takes about 2-3 hours?!?!? Its obvious shes isnt listening to what Im saying. She took off way more then I wanted JUST like in the other comments below. And she evened out my hair so now I don't even have one side longer which is something I wanted. She even tried to say how much better it looks. :( Isn't what the customer wants??? She pushed me so much she wanted me to take a picture of the Brazilian Blowout Brochure. I ended up telling her next time I cannot do this right now. If she only knew that if she just mentioned it once to me and took my NO the first time and spent more time getting to know me that I would have gladly come back and done the service with her. If I feel pushed its just making me rebel because I HATE the feeling of someone trying to make me buy something where they don't even know where I'm coming from. I have had my hair cut by Nancy a couple of times. I don't have a lot of time to get my hair cut and never get a chance to make an appointment. I walk in and didn't have to wait too long. She did exactly what I wanted with my hair. Trimmed all the dead ends and gave it a cute layer. She straightens it and I'm out the door in no time. And for a great price! She is always very sweet and easy to talk too. I recommend washing your hair before you go. You can ask for a wash but I like to get in and out as quick as I can. read more

You never know what you're going to get even from the same stylist. I got one of my favorite cuts a couple years ago. It was a new shorter style so I brought in a similar picture from a magazine. Even though I loved the cut I ended up going to another place for a while. I recently went back and got the same stylist. I specifically showed the stylist where I wanted my longest layer and shortest layer to be cut to. The end result left my hair cut 5 inches shorter than what I asked for. Then they proceeded to straighten my hair after cutting it, without applying any heat protectant or asking me if I wanted it straightened. Highly do not recommend. I understand that this salon has some 4 and 5-star reviews, but please know those high reviews are from years ago when the company was under a different owner. My teenage daughter and I have been coming here since it opened, and every single visit has been a pure joy. We won't get our hair cut anywhere else! Nancy always knows exactly how to cut my hair to make it look great (I've always had a lot of trouble finding someone who could cut/shape it well in the past, before I started coming to this place), and she treats the customers really well. I feel like I'm hanging out with a friend, NOT like those impersonal rush-you-in-and-out salons elsewhere. I've also had highlights put in my hair several times here, and Nancy does a FANTASTIC job - the color lasts much longer than when I've had it done elsewhere, and it looks great even when it starts to grow out! She is also careful to use methods that won't damage my hair as much. I usually call to make an appointment just because I have limited time in my schedule, and she has always accommodated my scheduling needs - and on the few times where I didn't call ahead and just dropped by, the wait time (if any!) was very short and she always greets us with a smile and gets to us quickly. Often there wasn't any wait time at all and she could fit me right in. The salon is very professional and welcoming, decorated in good taste, and it's conveniently located near a busy intersection that is right on the way to many places in the area. The cost is very affordable, and I would highly recommend this place to all ages and hair types. :-) read more

I went here because I use to know the old owner before the new owners bought this place. Got my hair cut by the owner.. and it was aweful. She charged me 15$ to add 2 layers !! And my hair wasn't even at all ! I paid 45$ for a trim and 2 layers. She didn't even wash my hair and I asked her too because she kept brushing my hair too hard making my head jerk. My mom had to tell her to take it easy. I don't know if she was having a bad day or what. But I will never recommend this place nor will I got back. Hair Pro is new to the Kent Hill but in the same location of an old Salon that had been there for years. So after being a customer for over 10 years I was wondering if I would get good service. I am very pleased and give the new owner Giao very high marks in all aspects of her business. I love what she has done to the old boring shop by making it fresh and modern. She also has brought in some real products at reasonable prices. She is not new to the Salon business as she owned a successful Salon in Seattle for many years and has recently moved to Kent. Giao is a good listener and fantastic at the trade. She did exactly what I asked her to do and my hair turned out great! This is my new favorite salon and I recommend you try it out for yourself!! I would never recommend this Salon to anyone. I went here 2wks ago and got my hair highlighted. I spend over 6hrs in the Salon and did even get what I asked for. I showed Nancy the stylist the color and the style I wanted but she did not do anything close to what I asked for. She Charged me $80 for highlight and touch up but I did not get $80 worth of work done to my hair. I contacted her day after I got my highlights and told her that I thought she needed to put in more highlights because you can hardly see the highlights. At first she was fine with putting in more highlights, she asked me to come in on a friday at 330pm, I was not available so I text her back and asked if I could come in early that day. She did not respond to my message. She messaged me 2 days later and asked meto come in within 2 hrs of her text, I was out of town so I could not go in. When I got home I text her and told her that I was home and could come in anytime, than her story changed and she told me that she was worried about my hair and she did not want my hair damaged. She did beach my hair but only beached the top and colored the top. The rest of my hair was untouched. I have very healthy hair and if i even thought my hair was damaged i would have never gotten the highlight in the first place. She just did not want to put more highlights in my hair and was finding excuses so she would not have to add more highlights. Every poor costumer service she was not very nice to me when i was texting her trying to just get her to put in a little bite more highlights in my hair.
