Picked up my son early from school for a hair appointment scheduled for 3pm. We arrived at 3:06. The hairstylist refused to give him a haircut because she said her "policy" (although nowhere in writing) was to cancel appointments if clients arrived OVER 6 minutes late. Need your hair cut on an appointment that you made well in advance, avoid this location and brand! Cancels 1 day before without being able to accommodate into the schedule. Can't think of any reason I would have wanted my hair cut 2 days before Dec 25th. The throw your hands up in defeat mentality seen here was a very apathetic quality to show to the community. Quick shout-out for Abigail, my current hair "Ph.D". I switched over a year ago and couldn't be happier, not that there was anything wrong with past stylists. I just happen to have more in common with Abigail, and she's there 5 days a week. This location has really efficient, talented, and friendly cutters and front desk people. I've never seen the shop in any manner if disarray. They can do anything from a simple trim to scalp massage to razor shaving your neck. And they have a rewards program on their computer so you'll get discounts after just a couple of visits. Do yourself a favor and go see these talented ladies today. So happy that Hair Saloon's are open again. I had only been using them a few months prior to the pandemic and I must admit I was getting some of the best haircuts I've ever gotten. I can't believe it took me 45 years to discover this place. Very nice to have the same person, doing the same excellent job every time I make an appointment. So they have a free shoe shine as you get your hair cut.... when the kid is there. Screw you when he's not. Free drinks.... Congrats. I got essentially scolded once for being on my cell because I really didn't and still don't believe the sign of no cells pertains to me WHEN I'M IN THE WAITING ROOM. The other thing about this place is that the consistancy SUCKS.... That's right it sucks. It seems like they have about 6 different women, all mediocre at best at trying to carry on a conversation, and who knows what the hell you're going to get. One time it's pretty damn good... the next and I quote "Did you pay for that shitty haircut? I could have done that thing blindfolded and hammered." No joke. True comment from a friend. I came to this place as a walk-in without an appointment. The place was empty. I requested a haircut. They said there was nothing available til' :(1-1/2 hour later)PM. Disappointed. I drove a long way to this place. Will not return. read more

We were asked to move our initial appointment from 10:20 to 10:40. We arrived at 10:40.... we didn't get in to see a stylist until 11:10.... and that's After the store manager continued to see appointments that came in after us.... frustrating.... read more

You're rarely taken on time and when you show up late due to circumstances beyond your control - they turn you away. This place is a joke!

This review is exclusively for the Kirkwood location. I give them two stars. Yes - they'll cut your hair, but unless you know who is cutting your hair, the quality is going to be variable. And... When they say walk-ins welcome, they do not mean it. As soon as you walk in, they ask for your appointment, then say they will give you the next available spot in the appointment book. If you don't have an appointment, they will be rude to you. This is different from the walk-in definition of the traditional barber shop. Treat it more like appointments preferred, walk-ins are welcome to take an appointment -which could be 3 hrs from now. The staff is not friendly, attentive or service oriented. The experience at the Webster location is much more pleasant. Pros: open on Mondays, they take (and prefer) appointments Cons: inconsistent haircuts and service, pricier than the traditional barber shop, no real walk-ins - make an appointment, and make it with somebody you like. read more

We head here to get the kids haircut. They do a great job. Just ask for Lisa she is the best. You have to call ahead for her but it is well worth it. Never had a bad cut from her. Everyone I send to her loves how well she does. read more

I've been getting my haircuts here since this location opened. Like most places, employees come and go occasionally, but I have always gotten a great haircut here and my current stylist who has cut my hair for years is fantastic. Felt like I had to post a review after reading some of lower rated reviews. Yes, walk-ins are welcome, but it does not mean they can always be accommodated. This is a popular, busy place. How hard is it to make an appointment? They are open early & late six days a week. I get my haircut every few weeks and have never waited more than a few minutes after my appointment time. My experience is they are a few minutes early more often then a few minutes late. Get there on time, enjoy a free beverage, get a free shoe shine, a great haircut, scalp massage and neck shave. Always have to wait 15-20 minutes after appointment time until you actual get sat to get a haircut. However, when you show up half that amount of time late, they expect you to reschedule. This is for the Kirkwood location only. I have been to two other locations numerous times, with no issues. read more

Went there for the first time with my son. Specifically requested that we both be cut at the same time when I made the appointment (he is a toddler - so not good at waiting for me to finish). They took my son and started his cut. About 5 minutes in, I asked if they were planning on doing my cut at the same time. The person doing his cut said she thought that was the plan and kept cutting - no going to the desk to ask, no checking with anybody. So, I walked up the the front desk and was completely ignored by the two ladies who were engrossed in doing paperwork. About 5 minutes from my son being done, someone came and asked if I was ready for my cut. I let her know that I had specifically said that we needed to be cut together and there was no way I was going to be able to get a haircut now that he was almost done (being a toddler - he is not going to sit for the time it would take for my haircut). I was really hoping to find a place that the two of us could get our regular haircut at and have a some good Daddy-son time. This place is not it. With all the other places to get a haircut, we will not be back. It is a shame that the customer service was so lousy for a place that obviously tries to market itself as selling a haircut EXPERIENCE, not just a cut. read more
