Veronica is a very nice person, but I would NOT recommend her for a balayage. The hair treatment she gave me not only looked nothing like the picture I gave her, but it was also very poorly executed. The application style was extremely chunky, uneven, and even worse had "leopard spots" in several areas. The top looked like tiger stripes. When I went to another salon to have it fixed, they said there were areas that were left on too long and others not enough. As you look at the deeper layers of my hair, you can see the bleach was applied in random diagonal lines. Definitely not the quality you expect from any stylist let alone an experienced one. The other salon was able to fix the high stripes but because of the random application of the bleach they had to return it all pretty much to brown and start over. I have to wait 6-8 weeks for my hair to heal before the other salon can give me a new blond balayage. I am getting engaged in a few weeks, which is why I wanted my hair done in the first place, and now I will not have my hair done for day of my engagement. Although she gave me a PARTIAL refund, it did not cover the repair costs and definitely is not going to cover the second good salon visit for a proper balayage. Even if she did give it all back, the additional repairs are going to cost me over $150 more than what I would have paid if it was done right the first time. I came to hair solutions 3 weeks ago my service was done by a woman named VERONICA . Veronica did a Baylage & baby lights on me. I had long brunette hair past my waist. Every highlight she put in my head has all fallen out . She sent me home with sopping wet hair that was gummy and falling out in clumps not to mention she bleached everything I wore there . On March 31 I Scheduled my appointment for April 13 at 5 pm. April 12 at 9 pm they rescheduled my appointment for April 13 1 pm. I Tried to reschedule the next day at 11 and was told I had to contact my stylist directly but she wouldn't be awake till 12-12:30. I Was almost an hour and a half away for something I had planned prior from 11-2. No way was I gonna make my appointment at 1, nor was I willing to take the chances of a 30 minute to an hour window for my stylist to reschedule. Very disappointing. Highly unprofessional. read more

My hair dresser decided to retire because of COVID. I have tried three salons so far and this was my fourth. Friday afternoon I was lucky to find an opening with Maya. I described what I was looking for and she offered several options. She suggested a soft layering of long bangs and I love it. She was enthusiastic, really nice, and only $35 for shampoo, cut, and styling blow-dry. The salon itself is a little messy and run-down, so that is why it is only a four-star rating. Unfortunately, she randomly decided to stop answering or responding to me with no explanation, which I find that to be extremely unprofessional. Recently, Ronnie and I became immersed in a discussion about taxes, government shutdowns, and more. While he did a great job on my hair, it was longer than we usually cut it. Neither of us noticed because of the conversation we were having. (Instead of mowing down the maximum, Ronnie's always conservative with how much hair he removes so as to avoid customer freak-outs. A wise policy....but it means that if you want it shorter once he's done, you merely need to let him know and he'll get back to snippin.') Two days after my most recent cut, I called Ronnie and booked a follow-up trim. But instead of a quick clip, he gave me an entirely new haircut, complete with shampoo, neck shave and rinse, and refused any payment, even a tip. I fail to see why anyone would go anywhere else. I have the disease Lupus and have been put on some very powerful drugs that lower my immune system, unfortunately they also cause my hair to fall out. Had my second visit to Hair Solutions, and Delma again was my stylist. She did not disappoint! I told her to do whatever, that I trusted her. The cut is perfect and I needed my highlights freshened. She did the usual thing with the foil and coloring paste and let it rest for about 10 minutes tops before she took out the foil and washed my hair. The color is PERFECT. My old stylist in Houston used to make me sit under a hot hair dryer for at least 20 minutes before she washed out the solution. I didn't have to do that with Delma and my hair came out beautifully and wasn't nearly as miserable as it was sitting under that hot dryer! read more

The owner told me they were booked for the day but when I mentioned I had an early out of town flight the next day, he agreed to stay late to cut my hair even though I'd never been there before. Great looking Caeser style cut for $15, less than half what I've paid for a master cutter at Visible Changes. He's been cutting hair for over 15 years and does a great job. Being new to San Marcos and all I was not sure where to go for a haircut. My roommate recommended some place of North LBJ, so I drove by it and did not find it impressive enough for me to go in. I decided to check out Yelp to find a place, and saw this place with a high rating. The building reminded me of the places (restaurants, hair cutteries, bars, pool halls, etc.) in Austin that aren't extremely beautiful on the outside, but offer great services to their customers. Being somewhat of an Austinite, I *had* to check it out. It has been a good four to five months since my last hair cut and changes like hair stylists frightens me. Upon arriving, the place wasn't as bad-looking (not that it looked terrible) as the picture portrayed here. I was a little early for my appointment to make sure I could find it. I found it and was a little confused about the parking lot. It was a little bit small, but seemed spaced out enough so you had plenty of room to get out if you are next to another vehicle. I made the appointment the day before, so I expected to wait just a little bit. I decided that waiting in my truck was not really an option so I moseyed myself inside with nervousness growing. I enter the black door, a door that could always mean something scary could lurk behind it. I was greeted by a very nice man, who then assisted to me to where my hair stylist was located and where I could sit to wait for her. There was not really a waiting room like I expected, so I told to sit where in the chair for the hooded hair dryers. I felt like I was supposed to be getting my dyed as well by sitting in that chair. The "waiting room" was really clean and you could hear music playing from whatever location the radio was. It wasn't turned up enough so that the music was distorted. The girl before me finished, and I am up to bat! Oh God, help! Here it comes! I was introduced to my hair stylist, Sharron. We wet straight to business about what I wanted done with my hair. She made everything I said sound unbelievably simple. After a nice shampoo-ing she was off to style my hair like no ones business. She talked to me about her life and asked about mine. She made me feel a little more at ease with this whole transitioning to a new hair stylist. While cutting my hair, she then told me that I probably I was most likely of German descent by the body and texture of my hair. Oh yeah? Well damn, she was right. Sharron is definitely a hair expert, in my opinion for knowing that. She shampoo-ed me again after finishing my haircut to wash the loose hairs. Then, she trimmed my sideburns up a little bit. Wow! I definitely could go for this again, and again. To top it all off, she only charged me $15. I have paid at least double that for a haircut and was completely unhappy with everything about the experience. I always get my hair done at a salon in San Antonio, but figured I'd try some place new. I wish I didn't. This was probably one of the worst salons I have ever been to. My stylist was nice and everything, just very disappointed with the effort. I walked in and wanted to go a lighter blonde. All she did was put bleach in my roots (which she took out early). There appeared to be no change and she didn't even dry my hair before I left. No effort whatsoever. I'm never straying from my salon again. read more

I've had tons of bad experiences with other salons and hairstylists, from getting home to find my hair unintentionally uneven and having colorists use the wrong kind of color on my hair, leaving it looking greenish and unnatural. I never have to worry about that with Veronica! I've had her color my hair, cut it, and style it, and she does a great job at all three of these. WORST experience of my life!! I went in with dirty blonde hair and left with orange hair. I should've went with my frst instinct and left immediately. Her station was dirty, the place was like a dungeon, and her hair was a mess. She was completely clueless about bleach, she didn't even know that bleach can be put on wet hair or that it shouldn't be slapped all over roots first. Zephra must've just got out of school, I don't know how she even has her license. She wouldn't give me a refund, she sd she could fix it and she let me leave two days in a row with orange freakin hair. Had to spend ANOTHER $160 somewhere else just to fix it.
