You can look for that review elsewhere if you want. I was ecstatic that Becky was still here as she was my hairstylist for at least 6 years prior to The Shutdown. I found her after my other stylist moved to up state NY. I can't travel there to get my haircut. But I can travel to Ocean Pines when visiting OC. Don't be put off by the look of business sign (needs some sprucing up) or the exterior as the stylists inside are wonderful, professional and talented group, many have been there for years. I personally go to Becky Ange and from the 1st visit years ago to today, she listens, knows how you look when you walk in & works with you & what you want, either a huge change or keep what you have, but just improve it. My hair always looks beautiful and I always leave feeling so good about myself. I went back to her today as I was tired of cutting it myself & my attempt to find someone closer to home did not work out well & I desperately needed her & ONLY her to fix a bad haircut. I specifically did NOT want a natural, messy, wavy look as I already naturally had that. I was told they could do what I was asking for, so I trusted them. Amanda did my perm, and the result was nothing like what I asked for. Instead of defined, intentional curls, my hair was left with uneven, messy waviness that honestly looked half done. What made it even more frustrating was that when she finished, she said, "It looks so natural!" That was literally the opposite of what I had asked for. It looked worse than my actual natural hair, except now I was stuck with it because it was chemically permed. I completed their survey afterward and submitted a complaint explaining how unhappy I was with the service and the result. I never heard a single thing from management or the owners. No attempt to address the situation, no follow-up, nothing. If a salon tells you they can achieve a specific perm style, you should be able to trust that they actually understand what you're asking for before permanently altering your hair. I would not risk getting a perm here, especially if you want a specific curl pattern or polished look.

I have NEVER been treated poorly by anyone at the desk, on the phone, or in the chair. The irony is that her name is Karen. She said she had been going to this shop for years. Wow, what a way to support a business while they are dealing with a tremendous loss. Clearly, they were doing something right up until this time, or she wouldn't have been going "for years."
