I ended up having 4 or 5 foils of lowlights (same color as the base color to ensure the base color would blend into my hair well on the top of my head.) I did not have a blow out or haircut. All seemed fine until I went to pay. With a tip my bill was over $300. I was so shocked!!!! I was standing there with wet hair being told that I was being charged that amount when I've never ever been charged more that $125 for the same services for any shop I've gone to in 30 years. The operator said it was because I had thick hair which would be true but never have I been charged more because of it; it was never discussed that the operator had dropped my bowl with the color on the floor and had to refill the color bowl. I politely paid my bill and left in total disbelief. Note... I did leave a message with the shop and after quite a delay the owner left me a message on my phone saying that she accidentally overcharged me by $60.00. Even if you reduced my bill by $60, the cost for services rendered was extremely high... I absolutely would never go back to this salon!!!!

However, the manicure I got was really subpar. I got it yesterday and it's chipping today. It's gel which typically lasts two weeks. I think it was just a young, inexperienced manicurist. I asked SEVERAL times if they do boys' haircuts and was told several times that they absolutely do. The girl who cut his hair, Laura, reassured me over and over that she does boys' cuts "all the time" but yet did not know what a skin fade was. I should have stopped her right then and there and taken him elsewhere but gave her the benefit of the doubt. I had to stand over her the entire time trying to get her to even out his hair and she kept switching tools literally every 10 seconds from straight razor to scissors to clippers with guard to smaller clippers etc etc. It was very clear she did not know how to do a boys cut from the beginning. All she had to say when we walked in and asked if they do boys hair was "no I'm sorry we really don't" and I would have thanked them and gone elsewhere. Don't say you can do a certain cut if you very obviously have absolutely no idea what you are doing. She did not shave any of the hairs on his neck and still had long hairs over his ears. I am completely in shock at how this can even happen at an establishment. I am so upset and the worst part is that they charged $25 for what should have been a 5 minute cut! She didn't even have to touch the top because we are growing it out!! Now I have to try and get him to his regular barber the night before school starts when we get home from vacation and pray they are able to fix this mess. I am hurt that someone has no issue doing this instead or just being honest. Please don't make the same mistake I did. I wrote this review to save the next boy from getting a botched up hair cut. The picture doesn't even fully show how uneven and not faded it is. It looks even worse in person!! My poor little guy
