I moved to Bethany Beach a couple months ago and have still been finding my feet with who is good for haircuts, massages, waxing, etc. - all the girly stuff. I have to be honest: I have total anxiety when it comes to going somewhere new and trusting someone with this stuff, but we women have our beauty needs, so we bite the bullet. I did some research and saw that All About U Aveda salon was close and had pretty good reviews on Yelp, so I took a chance. I cannot tell you how happy I am that I did! From the moment I stepped in the door to the moment I walked out, it was, here it comes, all about me - actually, though! Will at reception really set the tone. He was so soothing and warm (once you hear his voice for yourself you'll totally know what I mean). He started by having me fill out the simple new client form and immediately asked if I wanted anything to drink: water, tea, coffee, WINE. Yes, wine. All complementary. I was instantly in love with this place. I asked for coffee thinking they would give me a little styrofoam cup. Not the case. Next thing I hear is a coffee machine firing up and Will starting to put together a TRAY for me! I couldn't believe it. I felt so special I almost felt BAD! He reassured me that it was his pleasure to do this and made me really feel like he enjoyed doing things like this for clients. So sweet. I can't get over how sweet it was. I took a picture as proof. Now onto the actual treatments. I had a quick 15 minute Balance massage (shoulders, neck, and scalp: $10 and worth it!) It was fantastic. Such a relaxing way to start my haircut session. I highly recommend this add on with Lilly (don't quote me on this name. I'm so sorry I can't remember it properly, it definitely started with an L!) Next came the main event: the haircut. I wanted a modern bob and am kind of a control freak when it comes to my hair and was pretty nervous. Cathy came into the waiting area to gather me and the first words out of her mouth were, "You are so pretty!!!" Insta-love. And it only got better and better. You have to make an appointment with this woman. She is amazing. So funny. So energetic. And SO GOOD!!!!!!!! She walked me through an aroma smelling (like wine tasting, I guess) and let me pick which one I wanted my hair to be treated with. Then she gave me a relaxing aroma therapy treatment and massaged my hands and neck (so amazing). Then came time for the shampoo and cut! We didn't stop chattering away and laughing the entire time. I love this woman. And even more, she has some serious talent! I found myself five inches lighter and absolutely in love with my haircut. It was precisely what I envisioned (50 pins on Pinterest envisioned, you understand). Also I want to note that there was no sales pitch to buy the products. I am awful at saying no to the add ons that hairstylists do for every product they put in your hair. Cathy was so casual about it and educated me without pushing a sale. I so appreciated that. Check. Them. Out. And experience this all for yourself! It is absolutely worth it and so affordable. After all was said and done, I spend $60 for an amazing afternoon of relaxation, laughter, and a great new look! read more

I meant to write this review a while ago. I was getting married April 2017 and went in for my makeup trial and hair trial. Makeup trial was AMAZING! They listened to me, spent time, showed me multiple looks. I was not happy with my hair trial or hair for day of wedding. I probably should have been more communicative...that is on me, but I felt like it wasn't quite the experience I was looking for for bridal. My hair trial was little less than an hour. My hair stylist (can't remember her name) asked me what I wanted...I told her beachy...play with my natural curl and wave. I also asked her if she had a diffuser. She said yes. I knew the look I wanted. I just couldn't do it myself. We played around with my half updo like I also asked her to do. Then, she said, "Well, we can play around with it day of." I was shocked. Normally hair trials are full blown one or two looks done exactly how you would do it day of. I figured she knew what I was getting at. So, I thought ok. Day of I reconfirmed what we were doing. She then begins straightening my hair and putting it in big curlers. I couldn't quite figure out what she was doing, because there was no mirror and she was behind me. I figured she was the professional. So, I let it go. After all was said and done my hair looked fancy bridal and more prom like with soft big curls and some waves. It was even straighter than my natural hair. She asked how it was, and I told her that there were really no waves in it. She pulled out one curl and said that we could make it more wavy but the curls would fall out as the day went on. I was not happy but thought what can I do now my hair is all the way done. I just felt like I wasn't listened to and she went to default mode that she does for all brides. I even showed her pictures. I was too afraid to say anything because I didn't have many options except to do my hair myself. I really wish I would have now...between me and my sister-in-laws I could have gotten what I wanted. :( Speak up brides, get a FULL trial like most salons do. That's the point after all so you're not wasting time day of trying to figure out what works and what doesn't. read more

I was looking for a new stylist and couldn't be happier with my decision to go with Kate! I was ready for a change with my hair after having the same cut/color/style for 5+ years, and came to Kate with a general idea and photo of the look I was going for, but ultimately gave her creative control and I absolutely love the results! She took my hair from dirty blonde with some highlights to a beautiful caramel to honey balayage color and I love it! She did exactly what I wanted with the cut- I didn't really want to lose any length so she only cut off my split ends. She also matched the color for the top of my head pretty closely to my natural root color so that it would still look good when it grew out, even if I wasn't able to get into the salon for root touch ups. The environment of the salon was also great- I was offered coffee/water when I checked in at the front desk, and I was given a hand massage during my shampoo- which was a nice, relaxing touch I haven't experienced in another salon. I also like that the Aveda products and color are natural and less harmful to the hair than other products. I will definitely be returning to All About U, and I highly recommend Kate! read more

Happy to say I've found my new stylist--Kate!! First time at this salon and came in with a few pics for length and highlight color. After talking to Kate she explained balayage would be the way to go for the look I was going for based on the photos (dirty blonde shoulder length layered bob) and so I let her take the reigns. I've been told numerous times at other salons that because my hair is thin, dramatic layers would look stringy...well, she proved them wrong and gave me the cut I've been trying to get for years! I've never felt better about my hair, the color looks so natural and overall healthier - I was thrilled to find that even when she wasn't there to style it for me the next day, it looked fantastic with my natural waves. She didn't just listen, she heard my ideas and took things to a whole new level with her amazing skills. She styled an awesome textured wave with minimal product at the end. Couldn't have asked for a better experience! Before my appointment I was a little concerned about price, but not only was it worth every penny, Kate's pricing is EXTREMELY reasonable. We made our appointments for wedding updos and received a text confirmation. Not being from the area, we weren't sure what to expect. However, shortly after walking through the door we were at ease. The place smells amazing! They were diffusing AVEDA oils and it seriously smelled like heaven in there. The reception area in rather large for the size of the salon and there are several comfortable seating options. You'll also find AVEDA products and some cute jewelry for sale in this area. When we arrived, we were offered a decent selection of drinks. I wouldn't have minded hanging out there for a while, but we were almost immediately taken back into the salon. Joyce did a beautiful job on the maid of honor. Rosana worked with the bridesmaid and bride. She listened closely to what each lady wanted, made changes according to their feedback, and kept everyone laughing. The entire staff was overly accommodating. One of the girls wasn't feeling well, and another stylist ran out to get her a Sprite. Where else are you going to get this type of luxury treatment for a reasonable price? I live in DC but discovered All About U Salon when my fiance and I decided to have some engagement photos taken at the beach. I scheduled a partial highlight, blowout, and make-up application. When we arrived, it was a stormy day (not very good for beach-going) and my fiance requested some spa services. They were very sweet to accommodate him at the last minute. I had the good fortune of being taken care of by the owner, Cathy Lynn, who did a wonderful job on my hair and make-up. I also had a terrible headache when I arrived, so she performed some Aveda signature herbal treatments on me and my headache vanished! Cathy Lynn called me two days after my visit to ask how our engagement pictures turned out and to thank us for visiting her salon. Maybe I was so surprised by this because you just don't get service like that in DC, but since I don't know many people on the Eastern Shore to recommend All About U to, I decided the least I could do was write this review. read more

My daughter decided while we were on vacation she wanted to drastically change her hair and go from long to short short. We vacation in Bethany every year but never had our hair cut here. We didn't know where to go and looked a few places up. After seeing All About You while eating at TacoTaco we decided to go. I'm so glad we did! Rosana Dorset did a amazing job on my daughter's hair! She was so pleasant and caring. She was fast but very thorough and did a excellent job. She asked my daughter before doing anything and kept us informed during the whole hair cut. The salon atmosphere was very nice and everyone there was pleasant and made us feel welcomed. We were offered drinks when we first checked in and we barely sat down before we were taken back. Needed a haircut last minute because I was going out of town. I just moved down here full time one year ago and hadn't found a salon I really liked. I figured I would give them a try. I called and got an appointment a half hour later with Jenny. From the moment I went in the door, everyone was friendly and made me feel very comfortable. Cora washed/conditioned my hair and gave an excellent massage, very relaxing. I then moved to Jenny and I showed a picture of the style I wanted. Jenny really took time speaking with me about it. I never felt rushed, even though Jenny was very quick cutting and styling my hair. Jenny gave me an excellent cut (you could tell she knew what she was doing), answered my questions and never tried to push any products on me like some salons. The costs are comparable to any of your better salons, but well worth it. I have my new salon ! read more

I have had my hair cut and colored by Kate three times (so far), and I am continually impressed by her friendliness, professionalism and skill. Once I went in with a photo on my phone of a haircut I liked. She replicated it exactly, and it was just what I wanted. When I went back home to Virginia and needed a trim, I went to the stylist I have gone to for many years. He mangled Kate's styling! I drove back here, and Kate repaired the bad cut! Today I just mentioned a few ideas and gave Kate free-rein. The cut and color are SO beautiful! Kate highlights my natural gray with silver highlights so my hair shines! This is now my go-to salon and stylist! Even though I only live in Bethany for six months out of the year, it is worth the three hour drive in off-season to get such good service. read more

I absolutely love this hair salon! You are greeted and taken care of the moment you walk into the door! You are provided with a refreshment of your choice; tea,water, wine, etc. Then your stylist greets you and takes care of you from there. I recommend seeing Rebecca, she is an AMAZING hair stylist! I have been a client of hers for over 10 years. I followed her from Pennsylvania to Delaware. She is the ONLY person I trust to color and cut my hair. She is AMAZING with color. She was also the stylist for my wedding. My bridesmaids and i absolutely loved our hair. She added long extensions for the wedding updo and it was so beautiful. Was bored and wanted to get my hair and nails done although hair seems to be appointment only they were eager to set an appointment with me. As soon as you walk in they greet you with the biggest smile and warmest of welcomes. I didn't wait long at all to get seat to get my pedicure done. She told me about great restaurants around the area to help with my vacation she is a important asset to this company.
