I'm very particular about my nails. But...I think things have changed. Here is the deal you cannot just walk in, it's like a secret society in a sense. Someone needs to tell you about him they give you his card or information you can call or text him for an appointment. His time like your time is valuable so be prompt it's good for you and good for him. Also it is CASH ONLY... now when you go to this location to give you an idea where he is it's the strip mall area that has Thai Mii Up. Plenty of parking so no qualms. When you get into the salon, it's a big airy place, they have places to sit and etc. I was greeted by the staff and told them I was here to see Quang. He has his own space, he does manicures and pedicures. You can do gel manicures, a regular one, get acrylics and etc. He uses Gelish for the gel manicures along with another companies polishes. He's tidy and precise with his work. His space is tidy as well. It's obvious he enjoys what he does and has loyalty from his clients. (Cause I had to wait for an appointment no joke!) So, here's the deal.. I have my own natural nails, with that; with nails being done, abuse of them and medication give you weak nails. My issue also I have acrylic over one nail due to an accident awhile back and the nail either grows back on its own or when it splits it splits. Now he was honest with me no hard core push or anything but in his professional opinion it was time to do something for a bit to give my nails some strength (yes I take vitamins and etc) so I have a acrylic on my thumbnail I now have them on all my nails. Listen I've never done it before.. to be completely honest; from what I know from other people it is not a inexpensive undertaking. Well... it was very reasonable and anyone who gets gel manicure's you know how much that is between $25-40 on natural nails.. now I got the acrylics and a gel manicure, if I got a regular old school manicure w: acrylics it would have been less. So for this visit it was $20 more than I would pay for my just gel manicure, in this case I got everything done and when I come in next time it's priced accordingly. Now dear reader I can't give you a "price list" since it would depend on what you get but to give you an example price wise between $25-50+ depending on what you are doing. He is seriously precise and does something different when he takes off the gel manicure that I think is easier on your nails. Now he does your nails beautifully, gives you cuticle oil, rubs it in.. checks over it all. Tells you gently not to pick at your nails, use hand cream & etc. Than when your done you can make another appointment while you are there than you go on with your day. While he was finishing his next client was waiting. So, in closing I made another appointment, I now have new nails!! So to be honest go to him if you have acrylic or natural nails. He has a relaxed demeanor and he's an absolute master in his field. He's worth it! Bravo. Go!

Since then, I've made loyal customers of my husband, my mother, my two sisters, and two friends. Kathy does great work with all textures and styles. But as someone who has curly hair, it's particularly difficult to find a good hairdresser. Every curly girl I've ever sent Kathy's way has been overjoyed. She knows exactly how to prevent the dreaded triangle-headed effect, and while she will counsel you on frizz-taming products, she definitely won't push them. I've never had a bad experience with Kathy. Kathy converted a room of her home into a full-functioning salon. (The first time I went to her, I was a bit confused to be driving through a suburban neighborhood.) But as a result, she's able to charge a lot less, even though she has decades of experience. I used to go to pay around $45 a cut for inconsistent results; Kathy is half the price and always perfect. I had thought i had lost all hope for ever getting length back. I was fed up and I was looking around Rochester for a good hair stylist. I have really curly hair and I was not expecting to have any luck with my hair. I am not from Rochester so I was even more skeptical! But once I called Kathy and set up an appointment, I had known she knows her stuff. The first half hour I was there, we just talked about what I use in my hair, how i style it etc etc. She went through the dos and don'ts especially with curly hair. She then proceeded to show me where my hair was cut wrong, how many inches she needs to take off in order for it to be healthy. Any question I had, she answered no problem. She cut my hair, layered it and straightened it for me so I can see the layers and it is beautiful! I will be coming back in a few months for a trim but I recommend this lovely lady to anyone!! She clearly explained what to expect when I chose just a color rinse and sure enough the outcome was exactly what she said it'll be. During my appointment I also told her I'd been cutting my own hair for years and wanted to keep my length but get rid of as much split ends as possible. She did exactly that and didn't cut too much. I felt like she really listens to what you want and delivers. It made me feel comfortable going shorter the second time and trying a new style. I have tight coily type 4a-c hair and hadn't gotten my hair professionally straighten in over ten years so I was so happy that my hair turned out straight and the second time it lasted it lot longer. I love that she roller sets me first and then blow dried and straightens it. I didn't have any heat damage. Ultimately I love her salon and the experience. It's so relaxing I want to fall asleep. And she keeps the doors locked so not just anybody could walk in. I think anyone that has had bad salon experiences would feel relief knowing that Hazel is a stylist you can trust and you and your hair are in good hands.

The problem I have is with the…read moreshady practices they use when locking people into sales then including hidden installation fees. My wife went to them for a hair color and extentions. She was told she would need to put 660 dollars down for the treatment then for the extentions and then they would be installed the next week. We asked if there would be any extra charge for installation, and didn't receive word back nor did they say anything before they talked me into the appointment for her. A few days after the stylist got the extentions she then told us that it would be 120 dollars for her to install them on top of it.. I have done contracting and have run many of my own sales and estimates, and never has it been okay to get someone to make a major purchase of hundreds of dollars. Then later on hit them with hidden fees of hundreds more since they are already locked in for a large amount. That is incredibly disingenuous ​and an amazing way to loose customers instead of having repeat clients. There is no reason to not tell the total cost up front, if the client doesn't want to pay that. Oh well, someone will probably, there is no reason to hold back hundreds of dollars of extra fees for installation when you can just be up front about it just so you can lock in a sale.. thats bad business, and they have definitely lost mine.
