I received a digital perm here about a month ago. I discussed pricing with someone through text and agreed on a price of 400 because my hair was long. I asked if it were to be cut shorter, would the price be lower and they said no because my hair would still be long. I walked in with 29" of hair and left with about 15" but I'm not sure because I haven't measured. My issues are that the hairstylist didn't ask what I wanted when she was cutting my hair, she just started cutting. She cut it so short, and didn't ask before. I came home crying!!! 1st the rollers the lady used in my hair were covered in someone else's hair. 2nd My hair was thinned out too much it came out looking like a mullet!!! I requested curtain bangs and layers. My hair looks too masculine and does not frame my face at all. It looks so square on top. My curtain bangs just look like long side bangs. I'm devastated! DO NOT GO HERE. If i can give zero stars I definitely would. This is the worst place someone can go to. I went for a magic perm and a haircut and the lady didnt straighten nor cut well. Also, she made me DRY MY OWN HAIR TWICE while she took care of other customers. She was in such a rush that she burnt my scalp while straightening and I felt so anxious while she rushed doing my hair. I called her when I saw that my hair wasn't straight after washing it (like I was told by her to do few days later) and she yelled at me. She hung up on me after yelling at me for complaining that my hair wasn't straight and cut wrong. She said she's been a stylist for 21 years but told me that my hair wont be damaged if I redo it. Perm chemicals are really strong and it'll definitely damage your hair if you do it twice in a short period but she was arguing that it wont, so I should do it again. But why would I go to a place that makes a customer dry her own hair and not be treated as a customer? As you can see in the pictures, my hair isnt straight and I paid to get my hair straightened. I also asked for layers and she cut my hair so badly that it looks messy. DO NOT GO HERE. Youll be met with rude lady/owner who doesn't treat you well and doesn't do a good job of doing hair. read more

I've gone several times to get a haircut from her and every time I've gone I've left extremely disappointed. I gave her the benefit of a doubt one more time and this time I asked her specifically multiple times to not cut the top very short so I can grow it out. Not not only does she ignore my requests AGAIN to keep the hair long, but she also completely messed up my sideburns (how do you mess up SIDEBURNS?!?!?). Every time I go and get a haircut from her it feels like she's in a rush to finish cutting my hair like she thinks it's easy and beneath her to spend a lot of time cutting my hair. Finished my haircut in like 10 minutes....... she went so fast this time that she accidentally cut my ear & scalp. I am very late to write this review, but I got a haircut with Soo about 6 months ago and I was very satisfied with the cut! I was nervous since I don't trust others that often, but Soo took great care of me. I asked for a trendy Korean haircut called a "hush cut" and showed her a few reference photos and she understood right away! She styled it so nicely and even taught me how to do it. Not only that, the haircut grew out well over the last few months. My only critique is that the blow dryer was a little too hot and burned me a bit, but she quickly apologized and went more gently. I came in for Japanese thermal reconditioning for my hair (magic straight). I originally had extremely frizzy and wavy hair but after the treatment my hair came out smooth and straight. The price for the treatment was fair for the quality given. Before coming into the salon I had long hair that I had painstakingly grown out for years and requested that she not cut the hair short after the thermal treatment. After discussing it with her I acquiesced for a slightly shorter hair cut than I had originally planned. She ended up cutting my hair way shorter than discussed. I was not happy with the result of the haircut. Japanese Thermal Reconditioning - 10/10 - She truly is the best when it comes to this treatment. The results of smooth and shiny hair are a testament in itself. Her implementation of this technique is perfection. I am able to go up to 1.5 years with one treatment alone. Client Satisfaction - 5/10 - She cut my hair way shorter than discussed and I left the salon extremely dissatisfied that my overall look was not reflected during the consultation. read more

I showed her a picture as a reference, and told her I wanted some layers. I like the front of my hair a lot it's falls into place very well. But I don't think I like the back very much. I have very very thick hair previously and she thinned it a lot. I had recently become very fond of my thick hair, and am trying to grow it out like my mother. So I came to get a trim and layers and I think that her thinning won't get me to my goal for a long time. I have some really short hairs at the top and it is all placed very randomly. When she cut my hair she grabbed random pieces to cut out chunks. And then she used the thinning sheers three or four times in each piece that she took. Although part of this I should have asked her to stop, and that is my fault, but I had never asked her to thin my hair and I have never really cared for my hair but feeling how thin my hair makes me very upset and almost want to cry, therefore I give her two stars. TL;DR: Get your hair done here!! My experience with hair stylists have been mixed. They've all been professional and experienced, but sometimes I didn't feel they were knowledgeable in East Asian hair. Seeing Soo's concrete work with Asian/Asian American clients, I felt she could work with my hair. Covid precautions: Staff wears masks. Unsure of any extra sanitation processes, etc. Hand sanitizers are available in the salon by the seating area. Location: Fairly easy to find in an alley-like or one-way street with sufficient parking around the suite. Service: I came in on two separate appointments. The first was a haircut and the second was for overall coloring. Soo is clearly very knowledgeable, experienced, and professional in her work. She set expectations on the visions I had for my new look, explaining how I'm different than the model in the photos so we need to tailor the looks to me. Came here with my boyfriend today and this is for sure going to be my new go to Korean hair salon. We were looking for a salon that specializes in modern Korean hairstyle (specifically for men) and both i and my boyfriend are very happy with the result. I just wish we asked to keep the hair longer next time but that was a mistake on our end for not communicating. We showed her pictures of what we wanted and she totally delivered!!
