It was one chair with a plastic foot soaking bath. My pedicure has chipped already after one week. I then got convinced to do the shellac manicure- an $8.00 upgrade from the Groupon price. Since I was going on vacation I said sure why not. The color was chipped already from a few fingers after 1 week. It has now been 11 days and 2 whole nails have peeled off and most of my other nails have major chips in them. It seemed like a really nice place inside, and maybe their hair care is much better, but I wouldn't recommend this place for nail treatments. And I think they said the regular price for a pedi and shellac mani was $96!

I'd driven by this place a ton, but never really given it a second thought until I got a Groupon for a shellac mani/pedi. I went in to make my appointment, and the owner (Alano) jumped up from the haircut he was doing to greet me and take care of me until the receptionist got back from the bank. He was very friendly, welcoming, and chatted with me a bit until she got back. I made my appointment, and Alano offered me half off a hair cut if I wanted to come back. I loved the shellac treatment; as someone who can't keep nail polish on for more than five minutes before it smudges, chips, etc., it's amazing. There's also ZERO dry time, so you can start doing things right away. I wasn't super impressed with the pedicure, mostly because they don't have a traditional spa pedicure station. I ended up booking a hair appointment with Olivia, and, despite my overwhelming anxiety to have someone new get near my hair with scissors, she did an amazing job. I mean, it was just a trim, but I've had "just a trim" screwed up too many times for my taste. She also explained what she was doing and using on my hair as she went along, and gave me a gorgeous style to boot (and cut my bangs properly for once, which is a miracle). Aside from Alano, whose prices are high (but worth it, I hear), cuts start at $25, which I think is a good price for a great cut and style. I've paid more and less, and gotten the same service paying more, and many, many awful cuts paying less. I took away one star because they don't (unfortunately) have a spa, and I am disappointed with the majority of spas in the Kalamazoo/Portage area. I'd much prefer to keep all of my beauty business here, but I can handle spreading it between Alano and KCHA.

I trusted her because I had never been to a salon before so I didn't question why she wanted to bleach it all. The top of my head was yellow and the bottom was platinum. I left with the top of my head platinum and the bottom yellow. I've lost 30% of my hair. The back of my head is gummy and other spots are crunchy. If you pull my strands they stretch. *The stylist only talked about herself the entire time. Bad mouthed clients and gossiped. Also mentioned she was related to the owner so I doubt this will be remedied. *Extremely messy and uncomfortable booths. Bleach on my shirt which transferred to my winter coat. When I walked out of here there was still bleach on the back of my lower hair line into my neck. *After bleaching my hair was rinsed with super hot water and blow dried with highest heat setting. *Get this. She didn't even tell me how bad it was. She combed through every strand of my hair in order to dry it (cause my hair will no longer dry naturally due to the damage) The booth was a complete mess. Stuff everywhere. But she made sure to spin me around and put the comb and all my hair that fell out in a drawer. She was hiding it. Didn't tell me about the hair loss. *So then I get a moisturizing treatment with Moroccan oil. Not an actual after bleach treatment with protein or keratin. $20 for some drugstore Moroccan oil. *My hair cut was very rushed and not what I wanted. She repeated several times she had another client waiting. This was a disaster. It was such an easy job as well. The stylist seemed very amateur. This was my first time ever in my life going to a 'professional' for a color. I'm devastated. I'm having to get protein and keratin treatments. Luckily another salon is helping me out and will be doing my touch ups from now on. I'm out $200 plus another $100 trying to fix my hair. There is no fixing though. Have to wait for new growth. Like I said major hair loss.

Very Disappointed -- Definitely Not Worth What I Paid…read more I had a very disappointing experience at Angels Nails. I went in for a pedicure and, for the amount of money I was charged, I expected much better quality and attention to detail. Just look at the pictures. My toenails were not properly or evenly filed and shaped, and the polish application around the edges looks messy and unfinished. Some of the nails aren't even shaped consistently. This does not look like the finished result of a professional pedicure that I paid good money for. A pedicure is supposed to include proper nail care, shaping, filing, clean polish application, and attention to detail. I shouldn't leave a nail salon looking at my toes and immediately noticing things that should have been corrected before I ever got out of the chair. I don't mind paying for good service, but I absolutely expect the quality of the work to match the price. Unfortunately, this experience did not. I left feeling like the service was rushed and that I did not receive what I paid for. I'm posting the pictures so people can judge the quality for themselves. Very disappointing experience, and I would not recommend paying these prices for this level of work.
