I was drilled about my education, told that I earned what I earned because that's what happens when you don't have an education(I have both the bachelors and the masters degree) and in what is none of anybody's business not even. Why I couldn't any longer it was also none of their business and I did set the stylist. I was told that they don't have to accept all customers and when I stated that they accepted, the comment was "well we did not know who you were ". I showed her pictures of my short and she did what she wanted to anyway giving me a true pixie. At least it's even... By the time I left I felt like I had justleft Trump headquarters. Why I gave the woman a tip I don't know. I guess I've just been raised right and this is right thing to do. But I sure wish I could extra $10 back. They are not nice people... They are very judgmental and they put their nose where it doesn't belong. I don't care if they're a good stylist or not... They judge you from the second you walk in. I couldn't wait to leave!

At the end of the service, it was noticed that my roots didn't match the rest of my hair vibrancy (it's ginger so not shocking). Instead of letting me walk out of the salon, they offered to do my whole head so I matched. They took extra time on a busy Saturday to make sure I had the best look walking out the door. As someone who has a role where my look matters, they've found a client for life. You cannot find better quality, service or professionals. Every time I come, I feel pampered and special.

I'd drop her off, give her my credit card, and make it clear to those inside to be patient with her. She got into a very minor argument with the owner over the bill because she got confused. She doesn't understand how much things cost today. I didn't even think it was a big deal. Tried to make a future appointment, and was told she is not welcome and hung up upon. This was one of the few regular joys of normality my mother had. The elderly with dementia and Alzheimer's disease face enough discrimination in the public sphere. I have to manage it every day. But the owner of this establishment is probably the worst offender. In Milford, many establishments have been extraordinarily patient and helpful when I have brought my mother into the public sphere. Out of all of them in Downtown Milford near the Green, the owner of this place is the only one to be a despicable person. So far as the quality of the hair cut, it's nothing special. I've gone to $150+ places in Fairfield/Westport, and sub $50 places in Milford, and for this old lady they all look the same to me.

Took me fairly last minute which was nice. When I arrive I sat for a little bit before the owner acknowledged me, and with slight annoyance she mentioned I was late. I showed her my confirmation texts and our texts back and forth, she goes oh I had the time wrong I guess (she was the one actually running late). "I'll make it work I'll squeeze you in!"- which she did. Which felt stranger because she was clearly mid session with another client and had others waiting so my appt was definitely not in her books. I offered to leave and she insisted it was fine. My fault for staying. It was rushed, she clearly wanted me out asap, and didn't listen to what I disliked. It looked awful. I texted a day later about how much I disliked it and although she offered to fix it I didn't want her cutting my hair again. The pic is from the car right after the appt. The place itself felt dated for the cost. There are better places in the area, lesson learned.
