My hair is fairly fine but has a weird curl and is prone to frizz and bulk behind my ears, there is always much blow-drying and straightening to make it look ok. I don't know how Janice does it but she is the only hairstylist who can cut it so I can do a quick blow dry and it looks good! I embraced the gray during Covid but Janice is also a genius at coloring hair. Over the years she's highlighted/lowlighted/overall colored my hair and she's so talented. After 2 years (curse you Covid!) of minimal hair cuts and even trimming my hair myself, I drove the hour to Andover to see Janice and was so happy I did! She is an absolute perfectionist when it comes to cutting, listens so well and makes sure you are 100% happy with length, cut, finish. Best hairdresser in Andover! And probably New England!

You know, that cut where when you leave you are just pumped and you know it looks awesome and you know its going to grow at perfectly and you feel like a million bucks. Yeah. Janice is a miracle worker, my hair is a challenge that many before her have failed at. This is not only the best cut I have had in three years, but probably one of the best ever. The space is awesome, modern and inviting. Janice is very nice, informative, and super laid back, her assistant Leah is as well. Scheduling was easy and she offered suggestions about product without pushing them. I can honestly say this was the best experience I have ever had at a salon.

I was disappointed every time, but I didn't want to write a bad review. But this time they completely destroyed my hair and it could not be forgiven. I wanted to ask for refund, but they offered to fix it. So I spend 1 hour again with Paul to have it done again. He probably fixed it 70% of it. But hair is still choppy with no flow at all. It was my mistake for trusting them again. But I will never ever be going back now. Btw before it got redone by Paul, it was cut by a senior hairdresser who I paid 80 bucks for. Extremely disappointed over priced and fake friendly…read more When I had gone here I expected because they were a professional high-end salon that I would be getting high-end quality hair care. What I got was not even close. I first went to set up an appointment to discuss pricing and the woman at the front desk couldn't give me a price and neither could the manager of the store Paul himself. But being naïve and I said OK and came back. They still couldn't give me a price by the time they did my hair. The price turned out to be $100 more than I was anticipating from what they had told me previously. The guy that did my hair was nice but did not do what I asked him to do. He kept pushing me to go a different route. So I broke down and said whatever sure. But even in the picture that I showed him that we both agreed on look nothing like the way my hair came out. I was also there for 3.5 hours. When they went to show me in the mirror what my hair looks like after he had curled it i didn't know what to say. I gave them one of those fake smiles and said sure it looks fine. I will never go back.

Fortunately, Lauren put me right at ease straight away -- it was clear from the time of our consultation that she was dedicated to making sure I'm super happy with my hair. And she definitely delivered! We talked at length about all my different options for achieving the high-dimension, low-maintenance blonde I wanted... including balayage, foils, root tap/shadow/melt, money piece, etc. and finally settled on a plan that would match the ook I was going for without damaging my hair too much. Lauren was honest with me from the get-go about what she did and didn't feel comfortable doing in terms of maintaining the integrity of my hair (we skipped bleaching the ends for that reason), which I really appreciated. From the moment she started painting to the toner and blowout/styling, it was clear that she *really* cares about her work, as well as the client's satisfaction. And I truly don't think the tone of my blonde has ever looked better! Not to mention, Lauren's sweet, friendly, accommodating presence makes for a really pleasant experience all around. I forget his name (which is a common occurrence with me unfortunately). Was going out for a special celebration the next day so I went in just to get it cut. But he styled it so well after the cut that it even stayed until the next day. I SLEPT ON IT and it didn't get ruined. Just lightly brushed it before I left in the morning. The only negative thing is that he is very rough with the brushing. Every time he sectioned my hair or combed it to blow dry it I bet that I lost at least 50 strands. He pulled at my hair quite hard. Kept the blowdryer super close to my scalp so I would feel like my head was burning. I tipped him way more than I usually do in general because that's how happy I was. Technically I'd like to give it between 3 and 4 stars because of all the pulling, tugging and burning. But since that's not an option on Yelp, this place gets 4 stars. This is definitely my hair salon now. And SO reasonable! This is the perfect spot for me.

I went in for a keratin treatment. My hair was actually looking the best it had looked in a very long time. I had recently spent a small fortune having my hair professionally colored, and I was extremely happy with how it looked. I felt it just needed some additional conditioning, which is why I decided to have a keratin treatment. Before the treatment, I specifically told the stylist that I had recently had my hair colored. She told me that the keratin treatment "might lighten my hair a little bit." I certainly wasn't expecting what happened next. My hair didn't simply become a little lighter or slightly brassy. It turned bright orange. And when I say orange, I mean literally the color of an orange. Think of the actual, vivid orange color of an orange fruit -- that is what my hair looked like. It was extremely obvious and absolutely not the color I had when I walked into the salon. What shocked me almost as much as the color itself was that the stylist never acknowledged it. She didn't apologize or make any comment about the dramatic change. She simply carried on as though everything was fine and even recommended products to me. The owner also saw my hair and said nothing. I left the salon completely stunned. The consequences lasted far beyond that appointment. I spent hundreds of dollars over the following year on additional salon services trying to correct the color and get my hair back to where it had been before this treatment. I'm still not completely sure that my hair has returned to its original condition. What makes this particularly disappointing is that the salon describes itself as being founded on the pursuit of "exceptional customer service and stylistic excellence." Unfortunately, that was not my experience. I understand that mistakes can happen. What I find much harder to understand is when something goes obviously wrong and nobody acknowledges it or takes responsibility. I waited a long time before writing this review, but I ultimately feel that customers deserve to know about my experience. This was not a minor color change or a result that I simply didn't like. My hair was a color I had never asked for, and correcting it cost me hundreds of dollars.
