Josie is AMAZING! I called in a frantic hurry because I needed a wash and blow dry. She took me in with open arms and even offered to trim my hair -- after they had already closed!!! I came here about two months ago and got the oil slick hair color style done and I absolutely loved it!!! I came back because I wanted to try different colors and I'm amazed with the quality of work they have done yet again! About six months before the wedding we reached out to the salon to get some information about their services. The information I received was the following: Hair $85 - $135; depending on what you get and thickness of hair; Make Up $35 - $45; depending on what you get; There's a trial for the Bride, free of charge; A deposit is needed and She needs to know the amount of people for hair and makeup at least 3 months before. About three months before, I went to my "trial". It took about 10 minutes, she put two curls in my hair and gathered up the hair in her hands of the pieces that would be "up". No hairspray, no Bobby pins or anything was put into my hair. She said this is what the curl will look like, and sent me on my way. Needless to say I really didn't know what it would look like... She also did not indicate that if I wanted to pay more I could get what I would consider is a "trial". So in my opinion that was misleading. On the day I went in for the "trial" we confirmed the amount of people getting services (7 hair and 5 make up) and per her request, I put down $50 for a deposit. She indicated to be out of the salon by 1:00pm, we should be there "around 8am". That day, we arrived at no later than 8:20 (I have in writing that we were on our way at 8:13 and my parents live within walking distance). I do admit we were about 20 min late, however she did say "around 8am". We arrive and she only had herself and one other person doing hair for 7 people and makeup for 5. In my opinion there should have been more than 2 people servicing all of us. We spent about 6 hours there.... we all were not done until a little after 2 (which was an hour later than we wanted; photographer beat us to my parents house). I know we were a little late, but we were NOT over an hour late. Even after we began being pressed for time, the salon seemed more interested in taking pictures of my bridesmaids hair for their own use and chit chatting with the rest of the folks in there, than the time crunch we started to be under. her assistant was chit chatting with Nick while working on the last bridesmaid when we were already past 1pm. Also, her assistant had to do my hair 2x because the first time she gathered the "up" pieces, it looked absolutely nothing like the photo I gave to her and her response was "oh I guess I didn't look at it closely enough the first time".... once she re-did it, it looked better, still not like the picture I gave to her, but much closer. When it was time to pay, I was told I, just me personally, owed $230. Which, even when taking the high end of the ranges(135+45) is significantly higher. There was also NO MENTION of the $50 I already put down. I honestly did not put the cost and the deposit I already paid together in my head at the time because I knew the photographer was already at my house and we just needed to get out of there. So in essence I paid $280 not including the tip.. that was a cost where we traveled to the salon and it was not shut down for just us; others were there... I also need to mention I did NOT get an updo, and my hair was actually quite simple. I am not saying my hair came out bad, cause it didn't. It wasn't amazing, but I liked it. It did, however, fall out pretty quickly into the night. The curls did not stay past cocktail hour, despite me indicating that I do have "frizzier" type hair and would require extra hairspray. I give credit where it's due--My makeup came out really good! I Loved my makeup and it stayed all night without running or smudging. I will say, Connie did my makeup and the other lady did my hair. I think if Connie did my hair the curls would have stayed in longer. I just want to reiterate the couple of things that were misleading throughout the process. I am most aggravated that she seemed to forget the $50 deposit I put down three months before and it didn't seem like that was taken off at the time of final payment. I was also aggravated that she only had herself and one other person working on 7 hairs and 5 makeups; so we spent 6 hours there. We were also not all completed until a little over an hour later than we were supposed to be (I agree, we were 20 min late; so I would have accepted being back at my parents at 1:20, but not 2:10). She also required all payments in CASH despite taking credit cards on everyday customers. Overall misleading and overpriced for what I received. My hair was nothing too complicated and was not even an updo. My hair also didn't last throughout the reception and all curls fell out by the time I cut the cake... Thank you. read more

I have been going to Nick since 1989....when it comes to something as important as your hair style you need to go to a hair salon you can trust. Nick and Connie's salon is beyond stylish...a massaging chair while getting your hair washed. I wouldn't trust my hair cut to anyone else....if you're looking for a new salon....stop looking...you won't find a better place to take care of you and your other family members....we consider them like family and you will too!!! read more
