Everyone has a bad day at their job and that's no reason to lambast anyone, but when it's a hair dresser ... you are left with a look you have to live with and cannot switch up like an outfit. This is worth raising a red flag at least for the next unsuspecting Jane Doe. Particularly when you bring in an old photo **of yourself** with a haircut you liked well, but she insists would not work on your hair (?!) Not taking any time to consider how my hair fell and felt *when dry,* rather shooing me off to the hair-wash basin should have been the first red flag I wished I had heeded. Rushing a customer through is also noted by other reviewers here. Jayme should have taken the time to consider hair texture while dry, listen to concerns, offer a hair cut strategy and get concurrence from the customer. But, nope. While at the wash basin I tried to describe my unequal hair volume on both sides of the head (thanks to fall out). She may have been listening with half an ear. Very nonchalant, and seemed uninterested. Oops did I mention I did not pull up in a Porsche, Mercedes or BMW. Once in the chair she trimmed my underlayers to meet the crown layers so that the previous choppy mismatch was corrected...and yet I noted she didn't blend the ends in order for it to sit with a neat profile, it sat with a blunt edge. I know my hair curls when dry so it needs a shaping for the edge profile-- otherwise it is very severe. I showed her a photo of me, in a past haircut that I liked. I wanted the front to be shaped so it wasn't a severe straight curtain of the same length as the rest of my profile. She resisted cutting my front portion to shape a gentle frame around my face. It was impossible, she asserted, because my hair would spring up too high. How would she know? She barely look at it or touched it when dry!! The worst of it is that I spent well over $100 for a haircut that does not look symmetrical on either side of my face because...she didn't hear me about my thinner left side of the head. So the "fuller" right side is technically the same length as the left side, however, because more hair, it looks longer. Heed your gut and just avoid a hairstylist who doesn't seem really into you as customer. read more

Jaymie did a great job! She was really thinking about my hair texture and how much hair I have and what I do for work. She was thoughtful about my day to day and wanted to make sure it suited me. Seriously impressed!! Such a great haircut! She also was very concerned about keeping everyone healthy. There are limited stylists and all are separated. Limited clients allowed inside. She made sure I washed my hands on entry and exit. She was washing her hands after touching every item. She cleaned the chair before and after me. THIS IS IT. I haven't been this satisfied with a haircut in a WHILE. I found this place on accident while looking for another salon I found on Yelp. But boy am I glad I walked into this one. I didn't have an appointment but Jaymie was nice enough to fit me in between her other clients! Jaymie is Korean so she knows how to deal with Asian hair. She is super nice and speaks native English so don't be afraid! I already set up another appointment 4 weeks from now and you can bet I will be trusting Jaymie with my hair from now on. Btw, a men's haircut is $25. More expensive than barber shops but on the cheaper side for a salon. I don't know about you, but I'd rather pay a slight premium for an EXCELLENT haircut. Not sure if everyone is getting the same experience I had. I got a hair cut by Jaymie. Haircut turned out ok, but she wasn't friendly at all. I don't need to talk a lot while getting haircut, so it's ok if she doesn't want to talk. But how she treats me start to finish made me uncomfortable. Almost she was very upset with me once I entered the store. Asked her to cut my bangs a little shorter then she said "are you sure???" In a rude way. At the end of haircut, she said "you happy now???" That's very rude to say to a custom who pay close to 80.00. Also she was irritated when I show her hair picture in the beginning. At least, I felt the way. This is my first time so not sure if this her normal attitude towards everyone. According to Yelp review, people said she is considerate and work with customer to give gray haircut, but I didn't experience that at all. It's funny that I saw many reviews with the same theme, overpriced, careless, and lack of respect from the hair styler, because that's the exact experience I had. In and out in less than 25 minutes, everything was rushed, water was super hot then super cold while washing my hair, uneven finish, hair stick out here and there. Hairstudio 60 came up as one of the first suggested salons, so I checked it out and booked an online appt. , which was pretty convenient and easy to do! I showed Jaymie the color I wanted and she started on my hair ASAP! She was super sweet and had the best service I've ever experienced. I've gotten my hair dyed this color by a few different people at different salons throughout the years, but the way she colored my hair has been one of my top favorites so far! It's tough to find hairstylists that know how to cut really good Asian guy hair. Even in Bellevue, with a pretty big Asian pop, it's a rare thing unless you're willing to pay $50-70 at speciality Japanese salons. Either that, or the stylist goes straight for the buzzer and if you grow your hair out any at all, you start getting weird cowlicks. Jaymie knows what she's doing, and costs $25 for a guy's haircut. This hair studio is great! Hairstudio 60 is really close to I405, I90, AND there is free parking. It's very clean, new, and modern looking inside. The atmosphere seemed calm and welcoming. As soon as I arrived, I was offered a beverage, which was really nice. The owner, Jaymie, cut my hair and did a fantastic job! She listened to what I wanted and I liked how she showed me what she was doing before she did it to make sure I was okay with it. I finally got a chance to see Morgan at her new place today for a cut! The location is fairly convenient, ample parking lot, and the atmosphere is cozy. If you're looking for a new hairstylist, Morgan makes the experience very personable. She'll take the time to get to know you, your lifestyle and what color/cut works best for it. For example, I'm low maintenance with my hair, and like color/cuts I can leave be for 4-6 months without touch up. If you're particular about having your hair a specific way, she'll make sure you get what you ask for. 6 stars in my book, but I'm biased :) Love you, Morgan! read more

The owner's comment makes it even more apparent that she is not only extremely irresponsible but also terribly unprofessional. I brought the picture I wanted, and said I wanted it exactly like the picture. How hard could that be? She did check with me if it is the length I wanted, I said it could be slightly shorter in order to match the final result in the picture. But one minute later, it turned out to be too short! I asked for collar bone length hair but what she did is way too short. After I questioned about it, she insisted that she confirmed with me whether to do the further cutting or not. But, the scissor was in her hands and she, as a hairdresser, should have had the ability to figure out how much more was necessary to be cut to match the picture. It is a shame that she does not have the ability as I expected. Speaking of curls, she said she made every attempt to recreate my look. I think what she was talking about is she almost fried my hair by using a flat iron and going over and over the same pieces of hair to change from one ugly temporary curl to another. Once again, what I was looking for was not to get my hair ruined at no cost but to achieve at least an okayish cut. A lot more is worth to note, but I would not like to waste any more time with this place. From my experience, what she is really good at is to find every excuse she could to prove it was not her fault. read more

My little girl was a bit timid at first, but Jayme made the whole experience fun and really involved her in the whole process. It was very affordable, too! The owner of salon did my up-do for my trial wedding hair. She did really fast and I thought it was kind of careless job for the price. I wanted to talk with her about several different styles that I liked but as soon as she finish setting my hair with hot roller she walk out the salon came back later and started style my hair. She only did I style and didn't really talk about other options with me. Her next appointment person show up and she was done with me. Later that day, my girl friend saw the hair and she said it was terrible & careless. With my girl friend's help, we wrote my experience & review in Yelp ( saying it was mediocre job with high price). The owner (Jamie) called me later complain to me that I wrote not good review. She is talking to me in a way that somehow feel threat to me and saying same thing over and over for about 30min finally I got tired of her and hang up the phone. Next day my Yelp review for the salon was gone from Yelp site. And I wonder how could this be possible? Obviously she did something- She might be worry that her business is in danger but she need to be mature and be professional on what she do, in this case her hair salon. read more

Jaymie is wonderful! I took my son to her the same day I had my first appointment. He was four at the time and not excited to have his haircut without fun kid things to do. Jaymie not only made him feel very comfortable but was making him laugh and asking him what he thought of his haircut. I'm very particular about my son's hair and Jaymie did exactly as I asked. He looked wonderful and has continued to have great haircuts there and he loves coming back! I also have wonderful things to say about Jaymie cutting my hair. Typically it's the regulars who receive superior service ahead of walk-ins. With Sarah, my stylist, it was the exact opposite of a walk-in. She greeted me with a smile and said she'd be available momentarily as she was just about done with her current client. My wait was less than 10 minutes and the haircut that I received was very stylish. I have two pretty particular guys who love coming here for their haircuts. My husband is so picky that he'd rather cut his own hair than get a bad haircut. Thankfully, we discovered Jaymie right in our neighborhood! She does a terrific job with his hair, and makes helpful and useful recommendations (he's a bit of a product junkie).
