I have gotten my hair done by Holly (the owner) in the past, and she usually does a pretty good job. The one downside is that you have to tell her exactly what you want - if you don't know, she won't usually offer suggestions or whatnot, she'll just show you the colors/cut options and have you pick. Sometimes I like it when my stylist has knowledge of how some colors/cuts will look on different hair types, and can recommend what will look good. However, she does a great job and it's very reasonably priced (usually around 80 for color, cut and brow wax). EDIT 1/18/08: Last time I tried to go here, I was told that Holly (the owner) had sold the business. So, there is a new stylist who took over ...I have no idea if she's good or not, but she was very nice when she answered the phone. :)

The building is large with an open feel and everything looked fresh and new with a relaxing color palette. The lady at the front desk was unfriendly and gave me a bad first impression. My aesthetician was Tracy and I really liked her. She had such a warm and friendly personality and was very easy to talk to. The waxing room was spacious and the bed I laid on was heated. For the first time ever, the waxing did not hurt! Tracy said she preferred to use hard wax on the delicate underarm skin because it is gentler and she was right- I barely felt any pain. She used regular wax on my legs, but still- it wasn't half as painful as at other salons. Another plus is that the half leg wax included the knee. Most places don't do this. I was very impressed with the job she did and will definitely be back to see her.

I went in for a consultation for permanent makeup. The…read moreshop is very small, but it was clean, smelled good and the women were fairly nice. This is about all the good things I can say about it. I got there 10 minutes early and still had to wait 25 minutes past my appointment time. This was slightly frustrating since I drove down 30 minutes from Toledo. When I met with the permanent makeup artist, she was ill prepared. She had NO pictures of her past work. How do you expect me to let you basically tattoo my FACE without having photos of your work? No way! She said she could show me some on her computer when I came in to get the work done... seems a little backwards to me. She also did not do a patch test to make sure I wasn't allergic to the ink. From everything I've read about getting permanent makeup done, you get a patch test first. When I was getting ready to leave, she was trying to set up an appointment for me to get the procedure done. Yet she had no idea what her schedule was, and tried to set me up for an appointment time of another woman who MIGHT cancel. They just didn't seem to have their stuff together here, not very professional. Maybe if I was going in just to buy makeup or something it would be a nice place, but I would look elsewhere for permanent makeup.

I found the staff to be very professional and Chelsea did a fantastic and professional job of explaining the procedure. She also worked with my input on insuring the color and shape. This was the best experience I have had on getting this done. Would highly recommend Skin Savvy and hope you check them out
