I saw this restaurant when I was driving on the Berlin turnpike and I had to check it out. I ordered the lamb over rice platter. It came with lamb (beef mixture) , white rice , fries and salad. All the food was delicious. The service was quick and staff was friendly. I would come here again and try something else. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Restaurant was clean[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and Prices were fair too.

I stopped in here for a lunch break from work one day with my husband. It was a nice spot. The food was really tasty, even better than expected. I would definitely return when around the area again. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's some indoor seating which was convenient.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Great design.

Finally decided to try this establishment while in the area. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have great LED signs on the walls around the shop that are lit up.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space itself is pretty big with plenty of seating available & a bathroom available for paying customers.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered a chicken platter of course, as that's one of the first things to order when trying a new Halal spot. We also ordered some onion rings, 5 count chicken tenders, falafel balls & "spicy chicken" sandwich. As it was my 1st time checking this place out, I did not know that they don't cover their chicken tenders. I ended up asking for buffalo sauce on the side to dip, as well as some blue cheese, & ranch. The staff had no issues providing me with any sauce quantity. If you know me, you know love a good amount of dipping options. I also grabbed their white, red, & green sauces to drizzle because why not? Those are the trio for their platters in my opinion. The chicken tenders alone were good and not dry but some of the coating did fall off. Very much enjoyed the chicken platter with French fries to top it all off. The onion rings were regular degular to me. Their falafel balls were pretty good accompanied by their white sauce. I also felt that the "spicy" chicken sandwich wasn't spicy what so ever. It had a slight smokey flavor instead of spicy. There's also some cake slices available if you wanted something sweet to go. Since this visit I've already returned once, it has yet to disappoint! Really worth a try, if I do say so myself!

We recently visited Halal Minxhies after always stopping to get gas next door and being curios. Curiosity got the best of me and we finally be tired in after a long day! We ordered their fish sandwich, mixed grill platter, wings and hummus with pita. My fav was def the mixed grill platter, it's beautiful but the meat was SO tender which is hard to come by with the cubed cut but very much appreciated! We also liked their hearty wings - a meal unto themselves. The fish sandwich was ok, fish was good quality but it could've used some sort of sauce or aioli. Surprisingly I didnt like their hummus and pita. The pita was tough and didn't taste fresh and the hummus had an unappealing flavor. The good news is I'd go back and try their palates and gyros again along with those crispy fries!

The service here is really good - the folks behind the counter are never stingy about filling your "platter" & giving extra sauce. Super friendly service & working fast to make customers happy. Would recommend if you're craving this type of food!

This is a great addition to the town of Berlin! I'm so happy it's less than 3 minutes away from my house. I went on Friday 7/12 and ordered the chicken over rice with the white sauce and hot sauce on the side. It was delicious. I went back Sunday 7/14 and had the lamb over rice and added a couple falafel balls for some crunch. It was excellent as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The owner is very friendly and has a very bright and clean restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I wish them luck but I don't think they'll need it.

Jamshed worked in the fishing industry as a young man, but dreamed of working in the restaurant business. He came to the United States in 1989 and worked for a vending machine business. He finally entered the food industry in 2000 when he started "Mughali Foods": a food cart that prepared Indian and Pakistani food. In 2003, Jamshed became the owner of Noor Mahal, an Indian restaurant in Orange, but continued to run the food cart. He sold the restaurant three years later to focus exclusively on the food cart operation. He later dubbed it "Ali Baba's Fusion" and shifted the menu to halal Middle Eastern cuisine. At one point, Jamshed even had six Ali Baba food carts operating around New Haven. The Kalids opened a brick & mortar location in Hamden in 2014. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020, the couple cut down their food cart division to a single cart and put most of the focus on the brick & mortar location which was rebranded as "Ali Baba's Kitchen". The menu was also augmented to focus on healthier food options. A second location opened in North Haven in 2025. My wife and I recently ordered take-out from Ali Baba's North Haven location for New Year's Eve. We had previously sampled food from the Hamden location, as well as their New Haven food cart, but this was our first time getting food from the North Haven location. We were excited to try because it's only a five minute drive from our house. The newer location is nice but it is a bit on the smaller side. I would imagine that most of their business is take-out as opposed to dine-in. I ordered the "Bites Chick Bowl" (lemon chicken & beef gyro served on a base of rice & pita strips, topped w/ lettuce, tomatoes, black olives, chickpeas, cucumbers, feta cheese, drizzled w/ ABK sauce), my wife had the "Running Foodie Bowl" (ginger chicken & chicken kebab on basmati rice & pita strips, topped w/ tomatoes, cucumbers, pickled onions, feta cheese, and ABK sauce), and we also shared some "Samosas" (with tamarind sauce and chana masala). As I've stated in a previous review, we think that the food at Ali Baba's is sensational and we plan to order from them again and again!

It is intentional. The food, the market, the people, the energy of the place all make it worth the trip every single time. The flavors here are deeply rooted in the Middle East and the Mediterranean, and you can taste that authenticity in every bite. The hummus is silky and perfectly balanced with tahini and lemon. The baba ganoush carries real smoky depth. The chicken kebabs are juicy and seasoned all the way through. The shawarma is warm, aromatic, and layered with spice. The falafel is crisp outside, vibrant and herbaceous inside. My personal favorite is the Iraqi Chicken Sandwich. It is absolutely phenomenal. The chicken is tender, boldly seasoned, and packed with flavor. Every bite is balanced and satisfying. It is the kind of sandwich that stays on your mind long after you leave. Everything is halal and incredibly fresh. The place is always busy, which tells you everything. The food turns over quickly. The products in the market turn over quickly. There are always people picking up takeout and others shopping the shelves. And the market itself is a treasure. Authentic meats, cheeses, sausages, dairy products, dry goods, teas, dried beans, spices, specialty ingredients and more, all reflecting the flavors of the Middle East and the Mediterranean. These are items you simply will not find in conventional grocery stores. If you love to cook, you will walk out inspired. If you have never been before, do not be intimidated. Walk in. The staff are incredibly welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. There is space to sit and enjoy your meal, and they do a huge takeout business as well. Dunya is easily one of the best places in Waterbury and the surrounding areas. Authentic flavor. Unique products. Warm hospitality. I highly recommend it.

LOCATION: The present location is on Winsted's main thoroughfare. Ample parking is available in the lot behind the brick building that houses the restaurant. CONCEPT: Chef Noujaim brings the culinary traditions of his native Lebanon, as well as some dishes from other Mediterranean cultures. AMBIANCE: The restaurant is divided into two dining areas. Sunlight streams through the large exterior window, and mirrors placed along the brick walls of the interior dining room bounce light and make the space feel more expansive. SERVICE: Service is exceptional... Chef Noujaim is very active in all aspects of the restaurant, yet takes time to personally connect with customers. There is such a welcoming feeling when visiting Noujaim's Bistro -- one that is uncommonly experienced in Connecticut. FOOD: I haven't been able to match the Lebanese food I've had at Alladin Restaurant in Allentown, where there is a large Lebanese community. After decades I've finally found a match during my first visit to Noujaim's Bistro. I chose dishes to best compare my U.S.-based benchmark-- Hummus, Baba Ghanouj, Fattoush, Turkish coffee and Halvah. Portions were generous, inviting sharing. The Fattoush was far better than my benchmark in both presentation and preparation. Likewise the Halvah, which was served with candied orange. This dessert paired perfectly with the intense coffee. So good, I was eager to return the next day. Given it is an hour long drive from home, my solution will be to order additional dishes to take home! TIPS: The restaurant is open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Catering is a popular option, and the business is able to cater in New York and Massachusetts as well. Consider coordinating a visit with the American Museum of Tort Law just down the street, founded by another community member of Lebanese descent, Ralph Nader. Portions are generous and invite sharing.

Chicken was huge and super crispy. Fries are crinkle cut dusted with seasoning. Found that the fry amount was a bit smaller in portion size compared to the chicken. Mixed 2 packets of the Dave's sauce (it's like equivalent to 5 ketchup packets) with 2 ketchup packets . Mmm perfect. Saw a lot of Muslim patrons here. I was curious and looked it up. The chicken at Dave's is halal. KFC and chic fil a aren't. Looking at you KFC and chic fil a. More patrons would come to eat at your establishments if you served halal foods.
