I am in my late 60s and was never a picky eater; along the way I've tried just about everything that was placed in front of me. My friend and I had lunch at the Fresh Craft Grille, big mistake. We were suspicious when there was only 1 car in the parking lot and weren't sure it was even open, my friend got out and tried the door, which was unlocked, at the moment another car parked and the folks went in, we followed. There was but 1 employee working so we ordered, we both got the "classic gyro", one of my favorites,and my buddy ordered fries with his. This is when it got nasty, we had both ordered water and as we approached the cold drinks fountain we were hit by this incredibly bad unidentifiable smell, we got our water and found a table that the smell didn't reach. Our food was brought to us and looked quite good, it wasn't, with the exception of the fries. The meat in the gyro had a very greasy feel and didn't taste good, neither of us finished . The cook?, never asked us how anything was and on the way out I asked about the terrible smell and he replied "what smell?" Never again. read more

The burgers here are always really juicy and good which is why I stop in. The service on this side was fine, it was quick even. The inside is really cute, bathrooms were clean, and it has a carvel attached but that's the only thing keeping my visit from a full rating because they were out of the most basic flavors vanilla and chocolate! I had a really bad experience with them about four or five years ago... I got there about 15 minutes before they were closing, and the guy at the grill seemed annoyed that we were placing an order, he was mumbling under his breath... when I got my salad, I after a couple bites I bit into what turned out to be a metal twist tie for a loaf of bread...As I explored further into the salad I seen that there was a long decorative toothpick with the twisted end on it, a scooped out avocado shell, and a couple other things that look to be debris from someone else's half eaten plate... I realized at that point that the guy that made my salad put that garbage in my salad intentionally because he was pissed off... I never went back there again until today, I figured I'd give them another chance... when I walked in I realize that Carvel was gone, and there was an immediate background smell of mildew in the place... against my better judgment, I ordered a chicken Gyro... when the guy brought it out to me it looked really good, looked like the chicken was grilled nicely... however, when I bit into it, I noticed that the chicken had a snappy bite to it like it wasn't fresh... I ended up throwing most of it out and I'm kind of feeling sick right now... the place really went downhill even further than the last time I was there, never again. read more

And oh man, let me tell you, it was the best! The pita was thick and fluffy and so warm. The chicken and toppings of lettuce, tomato, red onion and my favorite taziki sauce were all fresh and absolutely delicious! We both even asked for extra taziki sauce because it was that good! The sweet potato fries were huge and honestly I think the best I ever had. The portion sizes were ginormous and I had to take half of it home. The amount and the quality of food I had here versus what i would have received at any fast food place for the same price will definitely make this my first "after school fast food" option now. I was completely satisfied with the cleanliness, the customer service, the food, and just the whole experience. And wait! I'm not even done!.. did you know Carvel ice cream shop is connected to the other side for ice cream and cakes?! And that every Wednesday is buy one get one free sundaes?! Not exactly sure what's going on over at Fresh Craft Grille to warrant putting out food worth $5 at $13 prices. Speaking of prices after my disappointment with dinner had sunken in I did some research. Looking at Fresh Craft Grilles website I could see one of the burgers I ordered was listed at $7.99. If I ordered it online through the website they give which is chownow the price increases to $9.99. If I want the same burger delivered then that goes through doordash and the price for the same burger increases to $14.39. What possible explanation is there? This has left me very disgusted with Fresh Craft Grille and feeling pretty scammed out of my money. The food we received was not AT ALL worth the prices we were charged. Speaking of the food... We ordered the Truffle Burger, Triple B Burger, Fries, Onion Rings and Mac N Cheese. I'm uploading a picture of the near $15 burger for reference. Both burgers were edible but the meat itself was so dry and flavorless. I didn't get any taste of truffle on the burger. Triple B burger was plain bacon burger with a bit of blue cheese. Very basic and very small! Fries were standard steak fries which were very bland. Mac N Cheese tasted very processed and mass produced. Very disappointing. Was in the mood for a salad so I searched for a local salad bar. This place caught my eye with its high rating, so I decided to check it out for myself. However, when I arrived the salad went out the window when I saw they offered gyro sandwiches, which I've had a craving for so I had to give it a try. There are five different types of gyros on the menu, and I went with the classic gyro, made of lamb & beef with tzatziki sauce, onions, lettuce & tomato. I ordered the combo which came with fries and a fountain drink. When I tell you that this was the best gyro I've eaten in a long time, I ain't lying! The meat was very tasty, cut thin and piled high in and outside of the pita. The amount of tzatziki was just right, not drenched but enough to compliment the rest of the ingredients. The fries were crispy while soft inside, but could've used a bit of salt. I won't hold it against them, however! This is a very unique business with a broad range of great food. In my experience, restaurants with great variety usually don't have the best quality food. It's hard to make one thing well, let alone three. This place somehow does it. The main entrees that are offered are hamburgers, gyros, and hotdogs. The hamburgers are a 4.5/5. The patty itself slightly lower in quality compared to five guys or in-and-out, but the options provided are greater. My favorite is the "The Truffle", although I know that's not for everyone. The Gyros are a 4/5. Gyro shops are few and far between compared to hamburger joints, but this is probably the best Gyro I'v had outside of a Greek/middle eastern specific restaurant. There aren't a lot of gyro spots near me that I know of other than Gyro Love, and this place is definitely better. The burgers are definitely the main draw here, but I certainly enjoy ordering a Gyro when I'm in the mood. Iv never had the hotdogs but they look good! For desert, I would definitely recommend upgrading your combo meal to include one of the carvel shakes. For how expensive good milkshakes are it's a bargain, and what brings this review from 4 to 5 stars! Well, my mother and I were dying for French onion soup today. It's our thing, we go shopping and eat French onion soup from Panera. Only Panera decided to screw us over and made French onion soup a seasonal item!! Wait-who am I reviewing again? So-I looked on my trusty yelp app and saw Fresh worx had French onion, and according to the last reviewer they were almost killed by the amount of croutons. So, that sounded like my kind of soup. But it wasn't my kind of soup. It sucked. First instead of tons of cheese there is a half melted slice of Swiss, the soup was barely room temp and the onions were half cooked and half uncooked. Like someone decided they didn't have enough onions and added more-20 minutes before we came. Cause they were still crunchy. So......there was that. Even though I said in my previous review that I would not return to Fresh Worx in Bristol, Chris (one of the owners) had contacted me and sent me a gift card. I appreciated that gesture -- he obviously reads Yelp reviews and cares enough to acknowledge a negative customer experience. So the wife & I stopped in last night around 6:30pm. I "played it safe" by ordering a large (10 inch) NY hot dog (which has spicy mustard & kraut). My wife went with a bacon cheeseburger, and we shared a regular order of French fries. The quality of food was better than our previous trip, my hot dog was decent. My wife's burger was juicy, but she felt it could have been more flavorful. Not the worst burger she's ever, but not close to the best either. Fries were alright, but a lot of the basket contained very small sized ones (don't think my picture depicts it because the full length fries were mostly on top of the order). The wife wanted to try a soft serve Mint flavored cone they were featuring for a limited time, so I went over to the Carvel section. The counter girl was having trouble with the gift card, while I was waiting, I decided to get some Turtle flavored ice cream. Brought both ice creams back to our table, my wife liked hers, I wasn't happy with mine. My ice cream was hard & flavorless, seemed like it had been in the freezer for some time (granted, we are in the middle of winter here in Connecticut right now, we are experiencing our coldest days of the year currently). I was enticed by other reviewers experience to try this place. The food options are great. I ordered the caprese chicken burger through doordash. My issue with the restaurant is customer service. I walked in, I wasn't acknowledged, nor a we'll be right with you. I was completely ignored until the cook came and was nice enough to speak. I'm hoping that was an off day but if your staff can't even take two minutes to say anything. I don't want to eat there. Made me feel unwelcomed big-time. Plus my sandwich/burger was cold. After a bumpy transition period, I think these guys finally got the hang of it and have made some changes that rectify the prior issues. Though I still miss the hand cut fries; the new owners have lowered the prices (What used to cost $8 before you add the fries and drink now cost $8 with it) and have made Fresh Craft their own. As a vegetarian, I am ECSTATIC that they have a homemade veggie burger on their menu now that includes avocado into the price aka tons of protein. It was a study, well made patty; though i think it could use a tad more seasoning. But overall impressed and will be back. PS: if you're getting takeout for more than one person; skip "making it a meal" and opt for the fries/rings combo! $5.99 for a huge box of fried treats and the same price as upgrading the meal but way more fries and you have drinks at home ;) read more

We stopped here today on our way through town. My husband got the west coast burger and I got the chicken Caesar salad. My chicken Caesar was very good. Real Caesar dressing, and freshly grilled chicken. It is a very big salad and I struggled to finish it. My husbands said his burger was grilled perfect and was a good combination but the best part were the fries...I snuck a couple and he was right, the seasoning on them is unique and quite good. With my husbands combo and my salad it came out to around 24 dollars which I think for what you get is a good deal. read more

I came back to Fresh Worx to try them out again, thanks to the owner reaching out and apologizing for my horrific experience. I thought that was extremely nice on his behalf, and a complete turn-around from the first visit, where he carelessly refunded me out of his personal wallet one dollar- although he never actually checked the difference in price. I came in today and ordered a lamb gyro to go with a mixed green side salad. The gyro was warm and fresh and everything tasted the way I would have expected- fresh. The side salad was kind of a silly little joke inside a soufflé cup- dressed in some lemon dressing. I didn't get to choose my dressing, and I would have much rather have picked it out- especially considering customers with allergies- they need to let you know that the salad comes pre-dressed, perhaps saying "would you like the lemon dressing or something else?" would be a better customer service tactic. Also, being a salad to-go, having dressing on the side instead of marinating and wilting my greens would have been ideal. The "pickle" was a disgusting, warmer than room temperature cucumber that tasted like it sat in salt. A salted warm cucumber, unfortunately, is not a pickle. The place was clean, which is nice. There were zero customers in the restaurant from the time we walked in to the time we left. I wonder if that's a common thing, but it was a little awkward waiting in an empty restaurant during the peak of lunch time. The customer service wasn't terrible, but it certainly was far from exemplary. Our cashier appeared bored and annoyed that we had to make her wait while reading the large (4-5 tv screens full) menu, typed in thin, gray print. Is this a place I'd go to regularly? Probably not. Is this a place I'd recommend? Not exactly (but I do recommend the Carvel inside). The gyro was good but just good at best. Not stellar, not worth $10, and they could've probably earned some extra credit by skipping the salty cucumber. It's a beautiful atmosphere, the music is top 40 hits, and the menu seemingly has something for everyone, but just not me. I did get a milkshake with my meal from the carvel that is inside there. What's the point of giving people a time if you don't plan on meeting it. Then to still be sitting here and waiting and to be asked if we are all set? Do you often have people coming in sitting down, not ordering anything and taking up space? Also you should correct your menu to reflect you have half sour pickles...if I had known that I would not have requested them on my burger. You should look at the order to ensure what you're handing out is right, which it wasn't and that you were providing the whole order.
