I've tried halal buns several times and want to give it 5 stars but I've never had a 5 star experience due to inconsistency with my order. The staff always forgets something in my order or my order is incorrect. The most recent time I went, I asked for no ketchup on my cheeseburger but it came with ketchup. They remade it but this time it was missing pickles and onions, and there was so much mayo on the burger. I also think the burgers are more on the heavy/greasy side personally. I like the boneless wings and the taste of their shakes. It's also nice to have a halal smash burger place but I wish it was reliable. read more

Tasty burgers made with 100% halal beef. Loaded fries are also a must! Great new addition to the New Britain area to grab an easy, quick lunch or dinner. Highly recommend the shakes as well. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They also have a good sized seating area inside if you want to sit and eat. read more

The service was excellent! I was greeted right away, asked if any help needed, I don't remember this girl's name but she had the biggest smile. I was craving tater tots and they have it. Different flavors but I went with the classic parmigiana. Fried to perfection, not oily, very good. If you're looking for a burger that absolutely slaps, look no further than Halal Buns in New Britain! I ordered the FUEGO and let me tell you -- the name says it all. Two thick, juicy Creekstone beef patties stacked with melted pepper jack cheese, fresh jalapeños, crispy halal beef bacon, and a mouthwatering combo of chipotle ranch and Nashville sauce. Every bite was a firework of flavor -- spicy, smoky, creamy, and perfectly balanced. The quality of the beef was unreal, the spice was just right (enough to make you sweat a little but keep coming back for more), and the sauces tied everything together like a masterpiece. Surprised at the praise for the burgers. I came here bc of the good reviews for the burgers. My order was super simple- a cheeseburger, fries & chicken nuggs. The burger was bland, not seasoned at all and the cheese not fully melted, a pet peeve of mine. It was on par with a Wendy's burger tbh. The nuggets were a bit tough but at least tasted seasoned. The fries were good, hot and crispy. The people were nice and the restaurant was clean. But I would not return. read more

What a great choice for fast casual halal food! CCSU students are lucky to have such a convenient place close by, especially for late night cravings. We enjoyed the aloha smash burger and chopped cheese hot dog, and also found out there were a couple secret menu items, like the red velvet milkshake and dessert waffle. I have been here 2 times and highly recommend. I have had their spicy chicken sandwich which had spicy coleslaw and was delicious. Today I had their cheeseburger combo meal and cheeseburger was well seasoned and cooked and delicious. The fries were crinkle and crisp. Both were portion wise generous and I was so full after. But not feeling gross like you do from fast food. I also ate in and the restaurant is clean with decent seating and a small room adjacent for catering. Placed an online order (had to pay in advance on line), went to pick up the order and one of the items was not available (cost $14.99). Was told it would be refunded but the Manager had to process it the following day. Waited several days but no refund issued. After several phone calls and even being given a # to text a copy of the receipt to the Manager, nothing was acknowledged or refunded. Had to finally contact my CC to dispute. Call in your orders, don't order online! Food quality was also subpar with missing toppings. read more

Food was great, mainly offering different types of burgers, chicken, and hot dogs. Not too much variety outside of that, but they make what they have well. Wide selection of hot sauce and other sauce choices too. I had the Aloha burger and Falooda milkshake, both were great. The only thing I would say is there is not much on the menu for vegetarian options; my friend was asking me if they did and the only thing I could remember was maybe the mac and cheese or some deserts? Absolutely amazing food!! Everything came out hot and was really really good, my one complaint is the hot comes on paper lining which was annoying when eating the Mac and Cheese or anything super saucy as it kept ripping but overall really good! Single-use plastic syringes for sauce/cheese are completely unnecessary and shouldn't be supported imo. The food should be good and speak for itself without gimmicky stuff like this. I'd love to see them care more about the environment and create some awesome burgers but not like this. read more
