Overall, the quality of their work has been solid once completed, and their technicians are knowledgeable and professional on-site. We did run into an issue with a camera that was sold to us by a previous rep (who is no longer with the company). The camera's speaker never worked as promised, and it took quite a bit of back and forth to troubleshoot. While the team eventually helped address the concern, communication delays made it harder to resolve quickly. Another recent project, getting a quote and installation for an additional camera -- took about two weeks from start to finish. While that's not terrible, shortening that turnaround could really improve the customer experience and help boost their sales, since responsiveness is key in this kind of service. Despite some bumps, we continue to use Halcyon because they do solid work once the ball gets rolling. With a few improvements to follow-up times and communication, they could easily earn that fifth star. read more

Serg and the team were super patient with us. We wanted to install security cameras at a location with no previous internet service. Having no internet was a great issue and the internet providers gave us a hard time due to our address. We were near downtown, but had so many small hiccups when it came to installing internet. Serg gave us good solutions on how to deal with our internet issues and they installed the cameras exactly where and how we wanted. They are more on the steeper side when it comes to rates, but they are knowledgeable professionals who took great care of us, so we chose them out of the 3 quotes. I hate to say that I used Halcyon again for two more installs. They came out and installed a new system for me back in March or April of 2021 at my new home in Fallbrook. That went well but I did have some issues connecting to the cameras at times. I decided to upgrade a few months later and go with better cameras that had sound and two PTZ cameras that are remotely movable. I've had nothing but issues and Tom sent the team out to check on them but the system keeps having issues and Tom kept trying to walk me thru fixing the issue myself. Well I got tired of this so I dug into this issue further and found out that when upgrading the cameras they needed to upgrade the cable to Cat 6 which they didn't do because they were trying to save $$ on the job. They used adapters instead and this causes issues. They used RG59 cable since that cable worked good with old cameras but these new cameras are IP that use CAT6 cable but he used adapaters instead of changing cables . Do the job right the first time and you won't have customer dissatisfaction issues. Most customers wouldn't know to dive in and find this problem and to be honest I shouldn't have either. Now I'm paying another company to fix the problem and connect everything directly to the router the way it should've been done in the first place. I feel Tom knew what needed to done but tried to put bandaids on the problem instead of just biting the bullet and correcting the problem. It's too bad but Tom has lost a good customer. read more

I met the whole crew over the course of my CCTV installation. Tom, Billy, Marcos, and Christian were all professional, polite, punctual and knowledgeable. It took some time to receive all of the system components, nearly a month in fact, but I was never asked for a progress payment. All initial hiccups were promptly remedied, often remotely. I chose Halcyon over the competition since they were half the cost and had great reviews. I also experienced a Ring system that was adequate but not good enough. No one tells you that those little cameras lack the ability to read license plates. I live on a busy street with a fair number of idiotic hooligans passing by so that was important to me. I've been up and running for a few months now with no issues. The problems I had with vandalism have subsided, I've caught a few litterbugs, and seeing the parade of wildlife and pets that prowl late at night has been fun. read more

They were great! We got three quotes and they were in the middle but had the best cameras and equipment as well as gave us the most information in the email with the quote. Serg was a little stiff when he came over but then I remembered he's a tech guy and I liked him better than the other two salesmen from the other companies who came over. My Oceanside triplex had two problems: Trespassers loitering in the laundry room and illegal dumping in the alley. I called Halcyon Technologies to address these issues. They are a major player in San Diego for CCTV. Halcyon was very professional. They surveyed the property and recommended a solution. The cameras were installed within a week for a reasonable cost. Technical support has been great. Everything is working. The app is easy to use and, with Halcyon's help, I was able to get the cameras working on a personal computer (using the IE browser). There are no subscription fees for the Halcyon cameras. My only ongoing costs are for electricity and broadband Internet. Within two weeks of installation, I was able to have my first illegal dumper prosecuted. At the present time, I am monitoring my late-night laundry room visitor. read more
