The restaurant is clean, inviting, and has such a comfortable atmosphere. I've never had any issues with delayed orders -- everything comes out quickly, making it an easy in-and-out experience when needed. Even when ordering online, they still maintain the same quality and excellent service. When I'm craving curry, this is the only place I order from. Pretty good standard Indian food. We had their honey butter chicken (judged to be tender and tasty) and malai kofta (decent). The food came quickly, indicating these dishes are made in larger pots. Their garlic naan was good, if somewhat more like garlic roti. There is plenty of parking, and we found the service was pretty good. It's a smaller place, a little noisy, if with formal dining. The selections aren't as extensive as other restaurants, but ours was good, and spicing came as ordered. The rice was a bit limp, but overall, we thought it was good food, perhaps 20% higher than we've paid for similar good food elsewhere. Nothing wrong with it, nothing really deserving of my five star rating, which requires you to be at the top of your game, wowing, or exceptionally good in some regard. Decent portions and flavor, the curries come in a bowl-like dish so don't be fooled by the photos. I think their curries are well-balanced, not overly seasoned. Waitress was great! We were able to sit right away. We ordered some appetizers , the sauces were good and the Manchurian chicken was excellent. I'm not a fan of peas and didn't know it was inside of the samosas, but I ate it and the taste wasn't overwhelming. My butter chicken was great. I got spice level 3, but it wasn't spicy to me. My friend got spice level 3 and his mouth was on fire. It was hilarious. Anyway, the highlight wasn't even the food. It was the robot bringing our food. That was great! For almost $20 a plate, I was so shocked at how small these portions are. I couldn't believe it, I had read that the portions were reasonable and I was planning on splitting this but this was definitely not enough food for spending over $50. I even had to pay extra for naan. I bought two separate plates and I only got rice for one even though once again this is almost $20 per plate (One of them was $20 and I believe the other one was $18). In this economy, dining now is almost a luxury and I would not recommend this just based on how small the portions are for your money and how cold the rice was. read more

We went to Haldi in Glendale for my wife's birthday dinner. This restaurant is larger than their Surprise location, easily accommodating our party of eight. The host and wait staff were friendly and courteous while quickly seating us, bringing water, taking our drinks order, before returning to take a food order. We have loved a variety of Indian food for many years and so were able to order a nice variety from Haldi's extensive easy to read menu. The "Rupee" brand Indian beer recommended by the owner was really excellent, complimenting the many flavorful dishes that we all enjoyed. When we got there, we got worried that it wasn't open since it looked so dark from the outside. But as we got closer, I saw someone walking, so I thought we'd open the door. It was open, haha. I think they just had blackout shades to keep the place cooler. The service was good. We were a little confused because there was a mobile order menu on the table, so we tried doing that, but a server came around to take our order. One of the physical menus they gave us didn't have any price, so I was also a little confused by that. But overall, the server was helpful and pleasant. However, I wish my mango lassi was filled to the top of the cup because it was delicious - creamy with just the perfect amount of sweetness. We were a little disappointed in the malai kofta having an odd number of pieces - three. It was awkward at first, but after one serving, we agreed on splitting the last piece on a nearly full stomach. In other words, another serving was unnecessary. The food is very filling! One thing to keep in mind - their 'spicy' is SPICY. We ordered all of our food at medium heat. We love spicy food, so we enjoyed it! You are able to tailor the heat to your preference, so that's reassuring. We just agreed on the medium being more on the high level heat side. Overall, our dining experience was a great one! Lots of well labelled vegan and gluten free options, and they even have a vegan dessert! I had the channa masala at spice level 4, which was extremely delicious and a good amount of spice, although I was expecting 4 to be a little bit hotter. My parents had the lamb rogan josh and a chicken curry, and both enjoyed their food as well, although my mom claimed my channa masala was the best. My parents also really loved the naan. We decided to try out this restaurant for lunch on a weekend. It wasn't too busy as we came an hour before they were set to close until dinner. The ambiance is nice in here; I like the decorations. Lots of booths which we prefer for seating. Our server was great and got us so up with our menus and water. Interesting that one menu has photos and no prices, and the other one has prices but no photos, plus the lunch menu. We all ordered from the lunch menu where you chose an entree and at least one side. I got the chicken tikka masala with rice and a samosa, and my siblings ordered the same entree and sides, as well as the butter chicken with bullet naan. The lunch portion was fair considering the cheaper price and I enjoyed all of it. Regarding spices levels, that wasn't an option (maybe just for the lunch items) but our server offered us a side of hot sauce, so we got that ($2 charge btw). It was a nice addition as I prefer most of my food to be spicy, especially Indian cuisine. We arrived just in time. It started getting busy as we were waiting for our food. The waitresses were nice. I failed to grab their names. It is nicely decorated and has a first date and family vibe to it. I saw couples and families eating as we were leaving. The food felt like it was missing something, but still tasted good. I know it's a healthy version of Indian food so that could be why it was "missing" something. The food arrived in a decent time. My one ask is to give the table enough time to eat their appetizer before the main dish comes. We literally received the appetizer and the food followed a couple minutes after. Outside of that, everything looked good and it was clean. Looks like they allow some type of games as they had a dart board over by the bar.
