This is hands down the best Indian food in the metro Phx area. The dishes are so delicious and flavorful. I do feel like this place is a bit in the expensive side for the portions that you get. You are also charged for everything. Rice does not come with the meals so you have to order it separately. You also have to order the sweet chutney sauce for the pakora, as it is not served with it. I always order the vegetable tiki masala and veggie korma. Both are easily 10/10. The pakora is also very good but you don't get that much for the price. Overall I give the place a 4/5. The restaurant is tucked in the corner of the plaza where Asiana Market is, with limited parking nearby. This is not a fancy restaurant it's more for like a casual lunch, though prices are like a restaurant. Service was friendly, but the dining area felt a bit warm even though the AC was on. My partner's Indian superior recommended this place. I think I didn't find enough options to my liking. And typically they come with rice but it looked like you had to pay extra. The appetizer was certainly interesting. It was a cold appetizer, not used to something like that, but it wasn't too bad. The butter chicken was ok. We ordered the lamb vindaloo, chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. The lamb is very tough, fatty and very strong flavor. The vindaloo sauce was asked eve a 2. The heat is just that hot sauce and takes away from the gravy. The Chicken tikka masala was not bad not great. The garlic naan very thick, tough and soggy by the time I got it home. In a quick summary, we just weren't impressed, didn't love the food, and it was way overpriced. We came here because we saw a lot of good reviews and wanted to try something new. We came on a Friday night and the place was packed. It stayed busy the entire time, so I thought for sure the food was going to be amazing. Plus, a lot of people were regulars. I got the coconut curry with chicken and vegetables and I wasn't a fan. Maybe without the veggies it would have been okay. But I was hoping for something creamier. I also didn't realize they charged extra for each thing I added, so my regular sized bowl of curry came out to over $20 (not including rice or naan bread). Our two adult entrees (plus rice, naan, and a soda) & a kids meal came out to $80!!! I was shocked and disappointed we had spent so much on food we didn't love. Also, for that price, you'd think the restaurant would be pretty fancy on the inside, but it wasn't at all! Just plain tables & chairs and no background music playing (which made conversation awkward). It looks like a place where you'd order at the counter and seat yourself. Out of the 3-4 Indian restaurants I've been to in the Valley, this one was by far my least favorite, the least fancy, and most expensive. I enjoy all Indian food, but it was nice to explore their North Indian cuisine for a change. I ordered half the menu and loved it. I ordered the Samosa, Grilled Chicken Tandoori, Butter Chicken, Garlic Naan, Saffron Chicken Biryani, and their Spicy House Pickle... absolutely delicious. I can not believe that I have not left a review yet. My wife and I have been here a few times and each time is a great experience. This is a hidden gem in the back of a shopping center. When you first come in you are greeted by welcoming staff. Our first time in we were met by one of the owners and she was so helpful. Walked us through the menu, we ended up letting her order for us (highly recommended). The food is all fresh made daily by Sachin the chef. I met a friend here for lunch one day and we were both craving Indian food. This place did the trick for us and satisfied our craving. The staff were friendly, the positions were large, and the food was overall delicious. I got a the spicy vindaloo with lamb plus garlic naan. My friend got the butter marsala with chicken. The spicy vindaloo was a blend of many flavors and spices. I love how when you get the lamb as your meat option there are no bones. If you ever got lamb at an Indian restaurant you know you have to watch out for those bones. Here you don't! I do recommend getting two naans. They are large, but they give so much curry you'd need another for leftovers. The only reason why I deducted one star is because the curry was a lot more liquidy than I'm used to. Other than that the food was phenomenal and the staff was extremely helpful and nice. If you were like me and needed an Indian food fix, look no further and go here. Enjoy! read more

A hidden gem literally nestled in the corner adjacent to Asiana Market. I'm glad I found this place, this is probably the best Indian restaurant in North Phoenix! Authentic Indian recipes curated from owners who are knowledgeable in their cooking techniques. I order the Tandoori Chicken every time, it is phenomenal! The chicken is juicy with a layer of charred skin which adds more flavor and the green chutney dipping sauce is so good! My other favorite is the Saffron Biryani with Chicken, it's extremely fragrant and the long grain rice with the Indian spices suits the dish very well. You can't go to an Indian restaurant and not order Tikka Masala or Garlic Naan - I always order double and dip it in the sauce. What I appreciate most is when my food is cooked fresh, whether it be dine-in or take-out. I ordered to-go on my last visit and was surprised to find my food still steaming hot after a 30 minute drive. That's what keeps me coming back! I was in the area and I love Indian food, so I decided to give this place a shot. I ordered my usual which is chicken tandoori, some garlic naan and one samosa. The chicken tandoori was probably the best I have ever had. The flavor was amazing!!! The garlic naan was delicious. It tasted like it was cooked on an open fire. The samosa was also good. I just wished they had Coke Zero. The server got me the menu and took my order right away and let me know the status of my order frequently. We ordered the Shrimp Korma. We are very particular about this dish because we have been to amazing places serving this dish in the past (for example, the famous Flagstaffs Delhi Palace). Here, it had some veggies such as corns, beans etc, which I believe are not typical from what I've known. The food here is amazing but you know what isn't? When the owner sits at a table with her kids gossiping on the phone about an employee. About writing them up and whatever else she had said to the other on the line. There's a time and place for private conversations and in your own business where customers sit to eat, is not it. The dinning area is an atmosphere that is supposed to be enjoyable, pleasant experience. As the owner, your gossiping should be done at your own home, in your own eating area. This is referring to the lady that ALWAYS sits at the table with her computer. My husband and I have ate there several times but we are at the point where it's uncomfortable. They are always very polite and have good service when ordering over the phone and when we pick up. The food is so good. We love their samosas, malai kofta, chicken masala and their Naan. So yummy! Very disappointing overall. The good: the lamb was cooked very nicely and was very tasty. The Samosa was very tasty and the chutneys were very flavorful. the lemonade with ginger was refreshing. the service was good and attentive (though we got there around 4:00 PM and there was no one else in the place). The bad: The lamb biryani had 5 chunks of lamb in it for the large bowl of rice. Nowhere near enough - seemed very skimpy. The biryani was highly recommended but had a strong flavor of what seemed to be tomato sauce. The coconut curry was ok, not as flavorful as you'd hope but generally good, though it also seemed to taste strongly of tomato sauce (again, a guess, but that's what it reminded me of). The worst part was the vegetables in the curry were obviously from a bag of frozen vegetable medley of peas, corn, carrot and green beans. The cube shaped carrots, especially, had that tell-tale combo of squishy and rubbery that frozen carrots get. Same for the green beans. We went for our Indian restaurant usual, Tikka Masala chicken. Plus Samosas, and per recommendation from Angelina we ordered the Fire Cracker Chicken. This is some of the best food I have ever had! The Malai Kofta is incredible, and I have to fight not to drain my wallet to get it on the regular. My friends and I tried this place and were a bit suspicious as the atmosphere is quite quiet and unassuming, but holy cow this place rocks. The service is great too, and we have always had especially lovely interactions with the same person (Brian? Bryan? We love you!), and while I was initially a bit curmudgeonly at the thought of paying for rice, that seems to be common in the Valley and the portion sizes here more than make up for it. I am vegetarian, and they have great options for us (and vegans!), as well as our meat eating friends. I will continue to frequent this place loyally for likely as long as I live here. read more

Got a craving for Indian food on a lazy day, so my wife and I ordered delivery from Saffron Indian Bistro. We ordered shrimp biryani, veggie and paneer pakoras and some chicken coconut curry. Overall the food was excellent and the portions were generous. The shrimp biryani had amazing depth of flavor and the shrimp were absolutely huge and well seasoned themselves. The coconut curry was also amazingly flavorful and the chicken thigh meat was juicy and flavorful. To my surprise, I preferred the vegetable pakoras to their paneer counterparts. I haven't had much experience with paneer outside of adding it to something like saag or a curry - so I'm not sure if my expectations were impacted by that - but I found the paneer pakoras to be dry and chalky vs what I hoped for which would have been crispy outside and slightly more chewy and moist on the inside. The menu on UberEats was pretty limited vs the full menu you can find on the website. Also, I think pricing was a bit aggressive on UberEats, and more reasonable, but still on the pricey side for dine in. That said, as I mentioned previously the portions are generous and the ingredients are good quality, so worth the premium in my book. read more

Our family loves good Indian food-so much so that we have a running list of the Indian restaurants we have tried in each town we visit so we can go back to our favorites whenever we passing through. This place has really good food and great customer service. I saw who I believe was the owner sitting T a guests table throughly explaining the menu since they were not familiar with Indian food. She made reccs and they went with it. The host Sierra was very attentive although she was the only host/server and she made recommendations which sounds like what a restaurant should do, but you don't get that a lot these days. We had the samosa, the paneer (spinach and cheese) and the coconut curry with veggies and lamb added. We also had the garlic naan (a flat bread) and a mango lassie (Indian yogurt drink). Nothing disappointed and me being such a food/flavor critic this place hit the spot. I cook myself having. A middle eastern and west African background and this place didn't miss.
