I cannot even begin to explain how much I love my dogs from Hale's Labradoodles. I have had 2 myself and have 2 more "cousins" that are with family members, and 2 others that belong to close family friends. From the moment we purchased our pups we knew we chose the right place- we were met with quick responses to email, phone calls always answered, and documentation provided from a veterinarian showing their progress and vaccinations during their first weeks of life, until they came home to us. I'm a bit of a stickler when it comes to puppies and asked A LOT of questions. It was so comforting to see how much medical/genetic testing is completed on each of the parents to make sure they are healthy breeders before the decision to breed actually takes place. A lot of breeders do not do this, so we were so happy to see how thorough and how seriously Hale's takes the health of their breeders and puppies. Our oldest is 9 years old and he hasn't had a single medical issue throughout his life. My favorite part of the whole experience was picking out our pups! Heather made the whole experience so special and personal. It was so nice to see how well all of the puppies there were groomed, taken care of, and genuinely loved. I truly cannot recommend Hales more highly. We got our sweet Australian labradoodle puppy Rigby when she was eight weeks old and she has genuinely been a dream dog. We put a deposit on a puppy from Hale's Australian Labradoodles online during the pandemic. We had (as we were warned) to wait for a puppy. One of the litters was slightly larger than expected, so we got a puppy sooner! And, oh what a dog she has grown to be! Now five years old, Panda continues to delight us and everyone who knows her. She's loving, obedient, and oh-so-smart. Watching TV with us, she'll briefly (but energetically) bark at dogs, cats, horses, and some other animals. I wonder if she watches TV as our guard dog to alert us to animals that may appear. She knows about 10 tricks. She doesn't beg for food -- although prosciutto smells like her treats and she occasionally wants some. She comes on command even if chasing a squirrel or cat. We've a ready group of friends to dog sit her because she is so easy and loving. (We've been warned by our friends not to expect to have another dog like her in our lifetime.) As Dr. Dave, her vet, says, "She is perfect." Everything about the acquisition process was smooth, professional and prompt. If you have any chance of adopting a puppy from Hale's do so. We were so excited when we welcomed Hudson into our family in January of 2014. Hudson was born on 12/05/2013, and was 8 weeks old when we got him. Hudson had already been neutered, which I now know is too young. Let me share our journey with Hudson-at 2 years old, he had his first episode of pancreatitis. Hudson was fed a prescription high end dog food. No human food. At 5 years he was diagnosed with renal cancer and Cushings disease. Our vet performed the nephrectomy, ($20,000.00), and Hudson started on lifetime medications for Cushing's disease. Despite many hospitalisations for chronic pancreatitis, Hudson had a great life until we had to put him down in August of 2025. DO NOT get a dog from Hale's!!! She runs a puppy mill, her dogs have chronic illnesses and her breeding is questionable. We now have an amazing puppy from an incredible breeder and the difference is unbelievable! We got our puppy, born on March 9, 2024, from Heather. Our satisfaction is not what it should be from a so called "renowned" breeder. Of course we love our puppy now, but we paid a lot of money for him and we were never told that he would have a pronounced underbite, which makes it difficult for him to eat (kibble and etc.) and most definitely gives him a "Griswald" look! (Top cat character). It is so much so, that people often comment on it. He's not like any other puppy we've ever had, although, we've only had 2 in our last 30 years. He unfortunately is a little crazy. We have done all the right things, walking him 2 miles a day, taken him to a dog play park to play with other dogs and my husband works daily with him on commands and obedience. Personally, Heather advertises so many puppies available at almost all times, and often from the same mother, we think she's turned from "quality" to "quantity"! I am pretty shocked by the negative reviews here. I am on my third labradoodle (over nearly twenty years), but two were from another breeder. Heather is known in the ALAA community as one of the top breeders around--her pups have great health testing. I cannot recommend her more highly. My dog was happy, healthy and well adjusted when I went to pick her up in 2019, and she has been a joy the past few years! She is like a little stuffed animal, happy, healthy, goofy, friendly, brings a smile to all who meet her. In my experience, top breeders do not have time to spend with casual puppy seekers wishing to chat for hours on the phone. Heather runs a business, gives you a very informative puppy packet, has selection and pickup down to a science. Although I bought my puppy-pre-pandemic, she worked with me in moving litters so I could get the size, sex and color labradoodle I wanted. Breeders cannot control for all conditions that develop in dogs because not all conditions are testable or genetics-based. It is inevitable that a breeder who has been breeding for over 20 years will have some dogs with defects. That does not make Heather a scammer or a bad breeder at all. She is loving, highly engaged with a Facebook group for her puppy alumni and generally lovely. I could not be more pleased. And no, this isn't a fake review--I've been on yelp for 15+ years. We picked up our Hale's puppy last week from Heather Hale and couldn't be happier with our pup. Our emails were always answered in a timely manner. We received step-by-step instructions in an orderly manner regarding feeding, vet appts, and the reasons for having a trainer and vet selected. We knew what to expect for the trip home, acclimating to her new home, and the daily routine of a new puppy. We knew what to expect and exactly what to provide for our pup. Heather and Ally were kind, informative and straight forward as to how and when the adoption would proceed. I think she wanted to ensure that we would be responsible parents. I think she screened us as much as we researched and screened her! Heather runs a very efficient and precise operation. It is true with we only saw two photos of the litter, and didn't talk over the phone. She is running a "for profit" business, and it appears that her dams and sires are well taken care of and well treated. I don't know what constitutes a 'puppy mill', but our puppy appears to be healthy, happy, smart and well tempered. If you must meet a dog first, get lots of photos, then Hale's is not for you. But if you trust that you'll end up with a puppy that has the most important qualities-healthy, well-adjusted, beautiful- then you'll be happy with Hale's. If I had just one suggestion, it would be to receive two photos at the time of selection; an overhead shot in additional to the front photo of the puppies. We got our Australian labradoodle puppy from Hales and love him. He is perfect in every way. At first we were a bit hesitant as all the communication was done through email but rest assured the quality of the pup and the customer service you get from this breeder is the best. We ran into problems 2 weeks after bringing the puppy home. Somewhere in our neighborhood he got Giardia. Right around this time I had an injury and we were distraught. We have a special needs child and were overwhelmed. The puppy was always barking because he was hungry and no trainer or Vet mentioned anything about probiotics to us. We contacted Heather and Ally and they suggested giving him some probiotic and just like magic everything goes back on track. They were in touch with us the entire 3 weeks of our ordeal and helped us with getting us back on track with potty training. We couldn't be more happier. AVOID BREEDER, TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE if you want to see more than ONE picture of the dog you are paying $3,500.00. 5 months into the process with a deposit made of $500, I received one picture of each dog at 4:36PM, and was asked to rank by 10AM the next morning. I simply asked for more pictures of each dog to help me in the selection process later that evening and the next day I received the following email from Heather. "I understand that you are willing to pay the full amount however I don't feel that we are a good match for you. We want you to be happy and for you to be able to get a puppy from someone who has policies for the selection that are in line with your desires. I feel that we could have problems in the future if you feel your needs were not met and I don't want that to happen." Even though I went through with the selection, she insisted on giving me a refund and cancelled my dog application when I was expecting to take a puppy home 2 weeks later. It was a devastating experience that left me in tears and when my niece found out, she was in tears too. I don't understand how someone can change an agreement that quickly over a request for more pictures. I immediately contacted other well respected breeders who told me that they are happy to send multiples pictures, videos, and allow people to interact with their puppies before taking them home to make sure they are a good fit. After this unfortunate and heartbreaking 5 month experience, I will be using a breeder that allows me to interact with the puppies before making a puppy decision. Take the time to read all the ratings if you are concerned. It's all 5 stars and a few 1 stars. The 1 stars have specific issues that Heather tries to fix if possible. We met a Hale's doodle and the owner was effusive with praise about the dogs they owned. Happy, friendly, good with kids, low shedding, well behaved. It's all been true for our Kona as well. We have a beautiful dog from Hales Labradoodle. She is a Med Parti and is the happiest, smartest most well adjusted and cutest dog we have ever owned. We are so happy she got a wonderful start from Hales. After getting her we took her into our vet and had her checked out where she got an A+ on her health and start. It was then up to us to ensure she remained healthy from that point on. I recommend you always take your puppy into your Vets the very next day. We put her on a natural food diet, JustFoodForDogs and she has developed and grown as she should with absolutely no health problems. We chose to wait until she turned one, which she did in May, to spay her, as our vet recommended. We can't thank Heather of Hales Labradoodles enough for the wonderful job creating our Zoey and her relentless patience in answering all the many questions we asked about the breed. We saw one negative review when we were doing our research on breeders and emailed Heather about our concerns, she was very open about it. When I asked my vet he stated that as with people things can show up In one dog out of a liter while the others are fine even with the best breeding practices. We had an Australian Shepherd who we had tested genetically and passed all tests only to. undergo knee surgery on two knees at the age of 7 and developed cancer at the age of 10 and passed. We didn't go back and blame the breeder as the vet again said it's just the same as with humans and is unfortunate when illness strikes, you want to look and place blame as it's horrific to loose a beloved pet. My only criticism is-I would have preferred a phone conversation in lieu of emails but did find this common procedure with other breeders I was looking at, and I would have liked to have seen where the puppies were kept, pens cages etc and seen the Mother. We picked Zoey up at her place of business, not the home were she was bred. Reality says that perhaps I would do the same if I had a place of business, Instead of having people traipsing through my home and bringing in potential germs. The basics: a few years ago I made a friend in Los Angeles who had two mini labradoodles from Hale's. I was looking for a mini for my parents, and I liked the idea of a breeder close to Southern California. For weeks I tried and failed to get someone at Hale's to speak to me on the phone. As many who have tried to contact Hale's know, they will not speak to you on the phone. Anyone who has done the slightest amount of research into finding a breeder (like googling "find a breeder") knows, only disreputable breeders will not speak to you. After a few weeks of trying and failing to establish actual human contact, I grew suspicious and I gave up. Fast forward a few years: both of my friend's (very sweet and very darling) mini labradoodles are epileptic. The drugs, which do not always work and which make the dogs lethargic and depressed, will cost upwards of $40k for the life of the dogs. They were not siblings, so all this can possibly mean is that Hale's regularly breeds genetically defective puppies. (I'd also be aware of any breeder using breeding stock from Hale's.) I did eventually find an excellent breeder in southern Oregon (my parents, my brothers, many friends and I all have dogs from this breeder, who will pick up the phone and speak to you the very first time you call). In my research, I discovered that a lot of the credible Australian labradoodle breeders in the US are based in Oregon. The conclusion: Hale's breeds way too many dogs, has way too many litters, and is essentially a puppy factory. Please do your research. I am happy to say that my family is a repeat customer to Hale's Labradoodles. We brought our first puppy home 5 years ago. I did a lot of research on breeds and once I narrowed it down to Labradoodles I would stop people on the street and ask where they got their doodle. More times than not, they would say Hale's. I then researched Heather Hale. I have 3 children and it was important to me to get a puppy that was properly socialized from the beginning. I was so happy to read that Heather has a family and her pups are constantly handled by them. I know some people don't like the idea of getting a dog from a breeder when there are so many lovely dogs to be adopted but for me, I needed to know where my puppy was coming from and how it was nurtured for the first 2 months of their life. Hale's Labradoodles was the perfect choice for us. Our first dog is the smartest, sweetest and most loyal companion I could ever ask for. He has brought so much joy into our lives. He was easy to train and always eager to please. A true gem of a dog. We brought our second puppy home 13 weeks ago. She is a delight! I will admit that I had forgotten what it is like to have a new baby pup! She's a fast learner and so adorable! I am truly thankful for Heather Hale and the additions to my family that we have gotten from her. She does a fabulous job of juggling a busy business and running a family. It saddens me to see the negative reviews here on Yelp. I do know that someone that is dissatisfied will always be the first to take the time to say something. I'm letting the Yelp world know that there are a whole lot of us that couldn't be happier with Hale's Labradoodles. If you are considering a pup from here please know you are in the best hands. Read through the policies so you know what to expect. Two times I've been through this and two times it has run very smoothly and the same way. We love our Hale's Labradoodles!! read more

I got my mini Australian labradoodle back in August 2016 . Bruno was 4 months old ! I communicated with Heather through email and text messages. I was able to ask as many questions, all of which got answered. They were flexible enough with me because I had to change dates and times, to have finally made my mind up and asked them to send Bruno in an airplane for me ;) Bruno is the best thing that had ever happened to our family, he is smart, funny ,loving, crazy, loyal, and handsome I know is weird that all this was done over emails and text messages, but it really worked for us. As we are celebrating our pup's 5th birthday, I'd like to thank Heather for the 5 amazing years, your wonderful pup brought so much joy and love to our lives, words just can't express our appreciations. We still talk about the day we met Heather and the litters, our awesome experience of getting our pup, best decision ever! Our doodle is so smart, friendly, playful and especially full of love. He was so easy to train when he was a puppy, within a week he was house broken, never had an accident. My husband taught him all kinds of the tricks, he learned so fast, and loves to show off too. Everywhere we go, he gets so much compliment. I love to post all his activities on social media, including enjoy ocean view, playing with others, etc..he has so many followers and all falling in love with him. Not only Hale's pups are the best looking, (which I can identify easily), but so smart that we often say that he is our second child. Heather was so helpful at the beginning. As a new parent, we had so much anxiety about the puppy, Heather replied all my emails and answered all my questions. She is the breeder where you want to get your puppy from for sure. I have organized a couple of Hale's Labradoodle play dates, everyone has been so happy and in love with their pampered pooches, and looking forward to get the second one. Also, our pup had an extreme herniation that was never mention to us. The second we got him home and played with him we noticed it. We paid a few hundred dollars to have it fixed when he was neutered but they were either extremely deceitful by not telling us about it or they didn't know about it because they never even bother to look or touch him as a pup. Either way they were in the wrong by not letting us know our pup was compromised. read more

We have 2 amazing pups from Hales. I did extensive research in different breeds before deciding on a Labradoodle. We had an older Wheaten terrier that was at the end of his life at 14. We were hesitant to get a puppy not knowing how our Wheaten would be. Heather and her staff helped with the process giving tips on how we could make our older pup comfortable. Our Wheaten really took a liking to our puppy from Hales. The advice given by Heather and her staff really helped as well. This October our Wheaten sadly passed away. We felt such a void. We sent an email to Heather asking if any pups were available. She sent us a photo of the cutest puppy... Stella our new pup! Heather and her staff were so understanding of our loss and Stella was the perfect fit to our family! Vinny our other Hales pup and Stella get along so well. It is so fun watching them interact. As we live in New York, Heather flew both times personally hand delivering our pups. Not very many breeders will do that! They are both so smart and have trained so easily. Vinny was the top student in his puppy kindergarten and was fully house trained in 2 wks. Stella took just a little longer and responded very well to training. We have 2 children as well. Our kids love playing and hanging with Vinny and Stella. They bring so much happiness to our family. We love taking our pups everywhere with us. We get stopped everywhere we go. Not only are they beautiful dogs but they have super cute personalities too! I could go on and on about our Hales puppies! When we got our first family dog, 15 years ago, we needed a hypoallergenic dog who would be very good with kids. We did a lot of research and we found Heather Hale of Hales Australian Labradoodles. She is absolutely wonderful!!! She loves her dogs and takes the best care of them. She makes sure each and every pup goes to a good home who is prepared for all the demands of a new energetic family member. I honestly can't say enough good things about Heather, her dogs, and her business. She puts her heart and soul into everything she does. After Rosie passed and we were ready to open our hearts to a new puppy - we naturally turned to Heather. Now we have our little Charlie and he is an energetic little bundle of adorable-ness who has stolen our hearts! If you are looking for a labradoodle I cannot give a higher recommendation than Hale's Labradoodles. read more
