Terrific and quick service! On 9/18/25 I was visiting HMB and realized I forgot a critical pill I needed to take that evening. I managed to get to the HMB Pharmacy 15 minutes before closing and the staff was busy but they acted quickly to confirm my situation and provided me what I needed right away and at a fair price even though it was not yet time for using insurance coverage again. We love Half Moon Bay Pharmacy and my family now uses this pharmacy for all of our prescriptions. The pharmacist and staff are knowledgeable and friendly, their customer service is great, and typically our prescriptions are filled very quickly. Although it's a small independent pharmacy, you can renew your prescriptions by phone after hours if you prefer. They have basic drugstore items on the shelves as well. read more

I truly can't say enough wonderful things about the staff at this pharmacy! After frustrating experiences at a national chain pharmacy, I saw the glowing Yelp reviews about Half Moon Bay Pharmacy and started going way out of my way (I live in Redwood City) to come here. The staff has really gone out of their way to accommodate me, like running my previous month's prescription through my new insurance to see if they could refund me so I wouldn't have to file a claim and wait. Best of all, they offered to mail me my prescription so I don't have to trek over the hill every month! I think it's rare to find such dedication these days, so I just want to say you guys are the best - keep it up! read more

Most of the time service is tip-top. On busy days it's a good idea to call to make certain they have made your script up already. I have a lot of my prescriptions mailed to me, and once it is set up, it was an easy option. I called in a refill of my diabetic test strips on Friday night and requested a pick up for Sunday at 10 am. I arrived at 10 to find 8 people ahead of my in line which I wasn't pleased about since I was trying to not being to close to people because of the corona virus and I'm over 65. After waiting my turn I was told they were still working on it and it would be another 20 - 25 min. All it was was 50 test strips in one container. I don't understand why it took from Friday to Sunday and it wasn't ready. There were plenty of them on the shelf no back orders. So now I have to make another trip to cvs to get them since I wasn't willing to wait that long and now the Governor has asked us to self quarantine.....just bad service read more

I've been doing business with HMB Pharmacy (previous name Medicine Shoppe) since before Harish took over. He and the majority of his staff are the best! They remember customers names, you do not have to call ahead for most refills. For those that believe his prices are higher, consider this, have you stood in that long line at CVS, and while waiting you have to wander the aisles buying things you really don't need, just to pass the time while you wait 45 min or more. 10 minutes is average wait if you just walk in without calling. The money you save on the prescriptions you end up spending on other items. Harish has the basics that a drugstore has. For the first time last week I had a rather terrible experience with one of his employees......truthfully I was so angry I decided to get my prescriptions through the mail via my insurance or Walgreens. I decided since Harish was not there I would leave him a message. Turns out the employee was wrong.....he called me and apologized profusely AND I received a very lovely note. I was so impressed I never did transfer the prescriptions and plan to stay a loyal customer. He works with his customers and bends over backwards to make us happy. An added bonus he also can do compound prescriptions of which i take 4. Had to take one star off for the rude employee (not either of the Sisters). It's a great hometown business! read more

My company recently changed its phamacy benefit provider and HMB Pharmacy spent a lot of time to get the info that my company didn't provide.
