A&O was great when I started using them in 2023. I liked the delivery, personal service, and the fact that it's not a chain. Unfortunately, the service has gone down in the last six months - not sure if there's been staff turnover, computer problems, or a change of ownership. They seem not to be documenting the answers I give them on an initial call, then everything is delayed by a few days when they call to ask me the same questions. They'll tell me they'll deliver something the next day and three days later I'll ask where it is and they seem to have no record of it. I'm sad to have to switch pharmacies. I hope A&O improves its service, and I will return then. read more

About a month ago, I went in to pick up medication. I had 2 prescriptions. Well, it appeared only 1 was there, and the young lady behind the counter was busy but unflappable sorta like a duck above water he looks calm and relaxed but is paddling like crazy under water. When I was told my my prescription was ready, I asked about the 2nd prescription, and she smiled and said oh I have that also. This young lady was everything a customer could ask for. I have been going to A and O for at least 5 years. The pharmacist and staff are lovely and it rarely takes longer than 20 min to fill my prescriptions. I also LOVE that they deliver my medications to my home. It makes my life that much easier. I started coming here bc the big pharmacies like Walgreens and CVS weren't able to fill my scripts and left me in the lurch. Monazza is the best!! She is so thoughtful and I consider her a friend. =). She also is able to explain any information and answer concerns I have about my medicines. I also love that this is a minority/woman owned business!!! I'd much rather give them my hard earned $ than a big corporation. In addition to filling my medicines they have amazing gifts to buy made by local and international artists. I can't speak highly enough of this pharmacy and pharmacist, Mrs. Chaudhry. I was born and raised in the bay area, have gone through CVS formerly Longs drugs and Walgreens, and am very happy to support this smaller pharmacy. The number one thing that stands out is Customer service. How a small facility can provide 10 times the customer service of physically and figuratively larger corporate CVS/Walgreens types is amazing. I have a few medication's that require I never miss a dose that would result in dire side effects and am also a caregiver for a family member that must take almost 26 pills a day. The local San Bruno Walgreens and especially CVS have too many employees with bad attitudes. They forget that most often when you are contacting a pharmacy, you already are most likely not feeling 100% in addition to forgetting that you are the customer. I don't want to give business to pharmacies that have the attitude "you need us. We don't need you." When you call A&O, you are greeted with respect as a customer and person. They thank you for your business and make you feel that they need you. After a family member passed of Covid in May 2021, the pharmacist sent us a card and a beautiful potted orchid(see photo below) which was not expected but a Beautiful gesture. I am still taken back by this small gesture that left a huge impact. Going to my local San Bruno CVS is comparable to a trip to the DMV so I am more than happy to go to Burlingame for A&O Pharmacy. If you live in the bay area between South City and San Mateo, I highly recommend supporting this pharmacy. Although they are not open every weekend or 24 hours a day, their efficiency, customer service, delivery*, and EMPATHY make up for this. This pharmacy is one of the best non big chain pharmacy. The staff Is very friendly and professional. I never feel judged or unheard. The pharmacist Monazza is so pleasant and very knowledgeable about medications. She will let me know if there are any issues or delays with my medication before picking it up. I live out of their delivery area but because of the excellent service experiences, I do not mind the 20 minute drive. I called to ask for a specific medication, and I was immediately placed on hold without any warning, and the person came back on and told me that there is a wait list and asked if I would like to be placed on the waitlist. I then asked again they carried the medicine again and I was placed on hold for a second time for a few minutes. I then hung up and called back and let them know that I only wanted to know if they carry the medicine and the person rudely told me that they do not, which could've been told to me the very first time that I asked if they carry the medicine. read more

I started using A&O after being disappointed with CVS countless times messing up my prescriptions. A&O is has always been reliable in my 2 years of using their services. That by itself would be reason for a 5 star rating. Recently , though, I had an experience that was exemplary. I needed a new drug that for some reason my insurance provider deemed unnecessary even though it was requested by my endocrinologist. One day I received a letter from my insurance company saying it was going to be supported and the very next day they denied it. Nonetheless, A&O filled the prescription so I wasn't going to rock the boat. Yesterday I picked up a month's supply and found out A&O had approached the manufacturer and requested a coupon which they agreed to. As it stands I have a monthly charge of $25 and insurance has no knowledge of it. I'm not happy about the insurance company but very thankful for A&O making it all happen. read more

Best pharmacy ever! They always have my prescriptions on time and are very respectful with me. Every single person working behind that counter has the best customer service skills I've ever seen with a pharmacy since they can be a little snappy and judgmental due to the type of medication I pick up. These people are always so sweet to me and my daughter, they have a lot of cute handmade local items to browse while you're waiting, and they even have some snacks and drinks and a couple lounge chairs while you're waiting as well. You can tell by the way they treat their other customers too that they have a very high moral ethic there which is very refreshing for a pharmacy!
