Fun place in a nice part of town. Such an iconic look from the outside. It's not a trip to Park Ave without stopping by here. Good drink selection, but as you could imagine space can be tight inside. If I could own a bar, this would be it! This small little gem is located right on Park Ave. Has a great beer selection, food from the pizza place across the street, and seating outside. The only cons are that it gets loud and they close early due to neighborhood association rules. read more

They have terrible service. Any time you sit outside it takes 10-20 minutes until they come and wait on you even though their sign tells you to sit outside and someone will be with you. You have time to text your kids, wife, and mistress before you even get their attention. The only positive is their location, hopefully new management takes over. They're trash. read more

A good neighborhood bar for the 20-something crowd living in the Park Ave area. Prominent and good quality televisions, excellent for watching any sporting event. Good selection of drafts ranging from Blue to Duvel. Average-tasting Guinness pints, not bad, but poured correctly. The interior is bright and fashioned similarly to Magpie. Small seating area, no food. Outside tables for prime people-watching at the corner of Oxford and Park. Overall I can see this place being a nice venue to catch up with a friend or to relax away a warm lazy weekend afternoon. Wouldn't go here on weekend nights however - the charm of the diminutive space is overpowered by the crowds and the difficulty in getting served at the bar. read more

This is a nice little place in the heart of Park Avenue, one of Rochester's most walkable and picturesque neighborhoods. The primary strip of merchants runs between Goodman Street and Somerton and Half Pint is closer to Goodman. The place is named for half pint sized glasses that allow you to try more beers but don't worry you can get full sized glasses too. The beer selection often boasts a plethora of great regional beers. I moved out of Rochester right before I turned 21, so I never got to experience the bar scene. If I had, I have a feeling I would have really liked the Half Pint Pub. I live in NYC now, and it can be a challenge to find a nice, cozy bar that isn't too busy, and with cheap drinks. (It may be even be impossible.) I just spent a few days back home, and stopped by the Half Pint twice. Once on a Friday afternoon, then on Sunday during the game. Sunday was busier than Friday, but my group of 4 found a table outside, and there were a few spots still open inside. Drinks are incredibly cheap. Perhaps I'm just used to NYC prices, but $5 - $6 for a craft draught isn't bad AT ALL. I'm not sure if it was a happy hour special, but on Friday, our mixed drinks were cheaper than our beer. I would definitely come back to the Half Pint next time I'm in Rochester. read more

This place loses it's lustre during prime time when the charm of it's small space gives way to claustrophobia, but I like the concept of two smaller drafts for fairly reasonable prices. They seem to me larger than a half pint, but I could be wrong. I would guess 12 ounces. Some nice beer selections for a smaller bar. Was surprised to see Three Philosophers on draft. Have not seen that anywhere besides Victoire, and at $4.50, it's a steal. Mostly 20-something crowd with the occasional mid-lifer (me) and a few barfly drunks mixed in for character. Best visited early evening before the sardine effect kicks in. read more

My husband and I checked out the Half Pint Pub for the first time last week. We got there fairly early for a Saturday night, around 5:00, and it was pretty empty except for three people sitting at the bar. The bartender was super friendly and welcomed us right away. We ordered our two half pints of beer each and had our pick of tables in this cozy, hobbit house sized place. Within 15 minutes or so, people started to arrive and soon the place was packed and lively. The crowd was a mix of all ages and everyone was congenial given the close quarters. We had a great time and will definitely be back! read more

Great beer options but this place is really really tiny! The bar tenders were nice enough but the vibe was very odd! I think a lot of locals go here and I definitely felt like an outsider...I would say give it a try it's a good bar for the summer time because of the outdoor space! read more

A really cool place to go in the summer! It's outdoor seating adds to the city like atmosphere. Beer is typically what you get, but they do have other drinks. If you want to grab a drink and actually be able to carry on a conversation with someone, this is the place to be. read more

Half Pint is a great little pub in the Park Ave area. I would recommend going at "off" times it does get crowded - it is a little small. Other than that, prices are with in reason. One of my favorite pubs in Rochester. read more

I think this is s pretty average bar for Rochester. They have a great outdoor space, but the indoor space is pretty small. The beer selection is ok, but not great. Overall, I think this is a great bar to go to if you are in the area, but don't go out of your way to stop in. read more

Came here again last night. We ordered pizza and wings from the place accross the street. Although he was really busy, the bartender ran accross the street to check on our order. The food was delicious and our crew munched away happily. I wish I knew the bartender's name so I could thank him. I really love this place. read more

Half Pint is modeled after a bar in New York City that serves its drinks in 2 half pint glasses. The space is cozy and warm with 4 tables ( alot, considering how small it is inside). The bar tenders are always fun and the music is great. Check it out. read more

This place is easy to drive by, but if your lucky to see it make sure to stop in for a drink or two. This place is small but has a very intimate vibe to it, especially during the winter. During the summer, tables outside allow you to enjoy a quality draft while sitting on beautiful Park Ave. In winter the place has great holiday decorations that reminds me of a cozy upscale tavern. The staff has always been friendly and attentive. Its better to go during the day before the bar gets too busy, and the only complaint I would have is that it can be fairly pricey for a typical college kid. Overall I would recommend stopping at this place for a relaxing beer if your in the Park Ave area. read more

I love it here! Only thing I would recommend would be to have padded seat covers for the outside tables.

Our waitress brought our order to us very quickly! She didn't eat on the bar or eat our food. She took a little long to pour my Guinness though.... And she made the excuse that it had to settle half way through the pour. I think she needs to be retrained on how to use a tap. SMH read more

Anytime the weather is halfway decent in Rochester, this place will usually have some sort of crowd. Great atmosphere, great bloody marys, If you want to have a place to sit outside you better get there early! The only downfall is the "food". They order it from Mozzaroni's across the street and their food is awful, so basically eat either before or after you go to Half Pint. read more

A bar that's name so accurately describes it. This cute little building sits right on the corner of park and Oxford and is a nice stop for a low key, intimate night out with friends or a loved one. Service is usually pretty quick, but sometimes it gets pretty packed in due to its small size. There are a few tables inside and they also have outdoor seating when it's nice out. I went there this past weekend and I loved it! Bartenders were really nice and friendly. I ordered a half pint of Purple Haze and an order of onion rings and both were great! The ambiance was different from other bars in Rochester - they had oriental rugs on the floor, really beautiful chandeliers - but it was still casual. They played a lot of John Mayer and really good music. Definitely a new favorite! read more
