A true hidden gem in Fairport. Located at the end of a strip mall with a few other bars, coffee shops etc, and plenty of off street parking. We were greeted by two of the coolest bartenders around, such an awesome vibe they have going on here. A stage with live music, a shop to buy anything and everything possible. Food and of course, good bourbon to enjoy and to take with you. After trying a few different ones , we settled on the Straight Bourbon Whiskey to take with us back home. This is definitely more than a tasting room, it's a good time waiting for you! I am not a bourbon drinker but my husband is. This place is more of an experience and vibe and less of a tasting room. My husband looked this place up to taste the maple bacon bourbon but we ended up walking into a room with a bar and some music and sitting areas to relax and enjoy . We dId get to taste some bourbon and the flavors were really good. But with the music going on, we grabbed a few drinks and listened to the music. It was an acoustic afternoon and great vibe. It was self service and we went to the bar for our drinks. Mine was not made properly. They had a female singing that was not good. She tried but needs to stay with instruments only. Overall not a good visit. Personal singing was way too loud as well read more

Really LOVE the whole vibe inside Iron Smoke. Thoughtful approach to marketing in a tasteful and distinct way. Love the ability to drink at a bar, couch, table or lounge chair in one location- while also having the ability to listen to amazing local musical talent and casually shop their small boutique like shop that's set-up on the opposite side of the bar area. Staff was so kind and welcoming, it felt genuine and inviting. Food menu looked pretty basic, but I did not try anything on the menu when visiting. Only thing I did overhear from another patron nearby is that they wished they had more of a wine list and other drink options available. Plenty of parking. I have noticed on some of their social posts or event related posts that they charge a cover when bands play- not sure of the cost, surprised a little that places still charge people to come in the door...I guess if it works for them! read more

Such a cool place to hangout and enjoy some fresh cocktails made with some delicious whiskey. Lots of parking available close to entrance. Walking in your immediately at the bar. I prefer to sit here and watch the magic happen. Really enjoyed their old fashion made with their iron smoke straight bourbon whiskey. lots of tables, couches and other places to sit and relax. I am obsessed. I have never been until today. I went for the Mother's Day psychic event. First of all, any place that has a big Johnny Cash flipping the bird is for me. The light fixtures everywhere are so cool! Vintage, haunting, colorful! The merchandise is TOP TIER. Most of the items go up as high as 3x, which is hard to find most places. The vibe is bad-ass with a dash of speak easy. Everything about it is unique down to the furniture. I loved it. The service was quick and timely. The bartenders were pleasant and efficient. Had a truly great time at Iron Smoke. Very cool design , large with almost almost a modern warehouse feel, two rooms semi-divided by a wall so that the sitting bar area and band/dance floor area are separated which makes it a lot easier to talk and get away from the louder music for a bit if you want. However they had a incredible coverband that's night M80s, and the place was really bumping. Good vibes, fast service at the bar despite a pretty busy night, friendly staff. Very unique drink offerings esp their home-stilled whiskeys - apple pie whiskey was a standout. Would return. read more

This place is so much fun! The vibes are unmatched and the spirits are quality. I absolutely love the decor. There is a $10 cover when there's live music. But it's worth it! Crowd is a wide range here. It gets pretty packed, but the bartenders are quick. Best place for an old fashioned, I do however wish they would change up their cocktail menu here and there for more variety. Peacemaker is a classic choice. Make sure to checkout their shop and get a bottle or two to take home. The Rosie's chocolate PB pie & maple bacon are two delicious and unique choices. read more

We absolutely loved this place and have not stopped telling everyone about it since we visited. This place is located in an industrial area in downtown Fairport NY with plenty of parking. The decor is fantastic and the staff were beyond friendly. This distillery makes whiskey. I am not usually a fan of whiskey but OMG the drinks here are amazing. The bartenders takes such care in making the best cocktails possible. I got the Mule and can't wait to have another one. My husband tried a few different cocktails and loved them all. If you want other things to drink they have all locally sourced drinks including beer, liquors, seltzers, etc... The also have an amazing store with awesome merch and bottles of their whiskey. We brought a bottle to go and had put friends try it and they all devoured it. They even offer distillery tours and have an awesome line up of events. Very fun place! A beautiful repurposed building. They use vintage furniture for seating. I got their root beer float drink. Which doesn't have ice cream but still had the root beer float flavor. Delicious - I'd get it again. All their custom drinks sounded good plus they have other drinks available. Bartenders were friendly and helpful with the menu. One of my favorite venues in the area. We to see a local group, Mochester perform and they brought it! Great ambiance, solid performance and even a marriage proposal! As far as the Iron Smoke Distillery itself, you can see by the photos that it isn't your average bar with a bar and some high top tables and chairs. Really cool distillery never been here before, but heard they were having karaoke night and decided to check it out. It's nice they have couches you can sit at with tables. They have tall tables as well. They don't serve food there, but you can bring your own in which is cool. The service was good everyone was friendly. The people were great. The karaoke was awesome, they had a live band that played music and you can go up and sing. If you are looking for something fun to do and you like to sing. Stumbled upon this whiskey bar and I'm disappointed I haven't been here earlier! The inside is huge with multiple couch/chair areas to sit and relax. All the furniture is older and worn, but that adds to its charm. Whiskey isn't the alcohol I'd choose, but every drink I've gotten, I've loved. They have changed around a few of their drinks when I've visited at different times including a strawberry and basil drink and a twist on a margarita. The staff are incredibly friendly and now there are more events happening including trivia nights and live music. I would call this place trendy. They have live music & also do live karaoke. Be aware there is a cover charge sometimes for the music. They do not have food but they do allow you to bring in take out from anywhere you like. It can be a little loud so be mindful if you are looking for a quite place to go this is not the spot. The bartenders are friendly & the bar backs are very personable also. They only have NY made spirits so if you are looking for something out of NY they will not have it. Drinks are interesting & creative but I am not a fan of how they taste. I had something that was supposed to taste like a peanut butter cup but didn't taste like one at all. My husband had an old fashion which is his go to drink but he was not to much a fan of it. I am interesting in trying something else to see if I like it but I know a couple people that have gone here who do not enjoy their cocktails either. read more

If haven't been, get your ass in here. The entire experience is hip, and trendy, but most of all still unique. They have a great selection of drinks, not just Bourbons and whiskeys. Buckets of beers, ciders, and perfectly crafted mixed drinks. I personally am a purist and started with a boilermaker; a Genny and a shot of the original Iron Smoke Bourbon. The traditional Bourbon is definitely their namesake and they offer the more crafty distillates, but straight Iron Smoke is phenomenal and should be a staple in every household, alongside Basil Hayden's. The setting is very dark and intimate with great Victorian sitting areas for you to enjoy your company; or make friends with strangers. There are barrels, i can only assume are filled with aging booze, add a nice touch, all branded with Iron Smokes copyrighted skull. Great giftshop with reasonable prices. We went for a night out to see Claudia Hoyser, our very own local budding Country Star. She sold out a small bar a few weeks ago in the country and packed this massive venue. What is most impressive, is that creating a good music venue is tough, Tommy nailed this one. The stage is perfect for viewing from anywhere. The acoustics were not too loud but still allow you to feel the bass in your toes. Claudia and Band rocked the house, while her dad remained her biggest fan and engaged the crowd by dancing and watching his daughter with what can only be described as pure, unadulterated pride. But to be totally honest, Claudia doesn't need much help engaging the crowd, her stage presence is effortless and captivating, she's a natural. Kudos to Tommy Burnett for creating a Rochester staple and icon. read more

They also have a decent selection of beer and wine. The gift shop has Iron Smoke whiskeys, cigars, t-shirts and all types of gifts and souvenirs. I have been really excited for the opening of this place and was really impressed with the space and newest edition of some cool bands. I have found however that some of the bartenders have been less than helpful/friendly. I had a question about the beer selection-which seemed to frustrate the bartender and he moved on to another customer before coming back to me. When he did take our order he was rushed taking it and became obviously frustrated again when we added two more drinks to the order. Great atmosphere. Crowd seems to be the age 30 to 50's. You have to order food in from somewhere else, which is weird, but they're cool with it. I'll definitely go again.
