Over the past year, I've had the pleasure of getting to know Isabel, and I truly can't recommend her enough. She first hemmed two satin bridesmaid dresses for me, and both turned out beautifully. Her work is meticulous, she's always timely, and she has every dress steamed and ready to wear when you pick it up. Beyond her sewing skills, she's also a wonderful resource, offering thoughtful advice on everything from the best bra to wear with your dress to little event tips like how to minimize bloating, garment bag recommendations for ball gowns, and bustling instructions. When it came time for my own wedding, there was no question that I would trust Isabel with my dresses. I was the type of bride who didn't want to spend thousands on a wedding gown and then another thousand on alterations, so finding someone who delivered exceptional work at a fair price meant everything. One thing I especially appreciated was how flexible and patient Isabel was throughout my weight loss journey. She understood that my body was changing leading up to the wedding and worked with me every step of the way to make sure everything fit perfectly without adding unnecessary stress. She even recommended scheduling extra fittings just in case. Isabel altered my anarkali (Pakistani wedding dress), including reshaping the neckline. For my ceremony mikado ball gown, she altered and hemmed the dress, added a bustle, altered my lace bolero, steamed my veil, and sewed in straps to my originally strapless ball gown. I hated the idea of wearing a strapless dress because I didn't want to spend my wedding day constantly pulling it up. Isabel suggested adding straps, and not only did they make me feel more secure, but they also flattered my figure so much more. As a plus-size girl with an apple shaped silhouette and an apron belly, I am self conscious about my figure. Isabel has an incredible eye for tailoring and knew exactly how to enhance the dresses to complement my body. Every suggestion she made was thoughtful, and she truly did everything she could to make each dress as flattering and comfortable as possible. I felt beautiful, confident, and completely myself on my wedding day. I recommend calling ahead (weeks ahead) for formal dress hemming and (months ahead) for wedding dress alterations given the chaos of prom and wedding season. I also recommend setting up an appointment as Isabel is a busy lady and a one woman show. If you're getting a bustle placed, have someone come with you as Isabel will show them how to bustle that way it's less stress for you on your wedding day. Isabel's craftsmanship, attention to detail, fair pricing, and genuine care for her clients is visible in her work. She truly wants every client to look and feel their absolute best, and I'm so grateful for everything she did for me. I wholeheartedly recommend Creative Stitches to anyone looking for exceptional alterations at a reasonable price.

I asked if there was any way we could remove the weird netting on the back of my dress and instead add a bow, and she absolutely nailed it! We ended up hemming, lowering the slit by adding a stitch right above the knee, and adding a bow to the back. She found a great color/fabric match for the bow and was done very quickly (about a week and a half). Pricing was fair!
