Service department recommended oil, transmission, break fluid, and coolant changes on top of $450 diagnosis charge for over $1200 without fixing the problem I even came in for. None of those needed servicing and diagnosis over $450 is insane. Accusations were made and they were very unhelpful. Will never return. read more

Tire Damage and Service Dispute After the first service was completed and I returned to collect my truck, I was informed that one of the tires had two noticeable gashes. I was told that replacing the damaged tire would cost me more than $300, which essentially negated the savings from the complimentary service. I questioned the service manager about how he could be certain that the tire damage did not occur while the truck was still being used as a demonstrator, or perhaps during transportation, offloading, or while being moved on or off the service rack by a technician. There are numerous possibilities for when the damage could have happened prior to my purchase. However, the service manager could not provide any evidence to support his claim and that I was responsible for the damage. Despite this, he assured me that the gash was my responsibility and that I would have to pay for the replacement tire. When I again asked if it was possible the damage happened before I took delivery of the truck, he admitted he could not prove otherwise but insisted that I was still responsible for the replacement. Lack of Support and Final Decision Since I purchased the truck, it has seen minimal use and has never left paved roads. Given this, I am unable to determine how the tire could have been damaged during my ownership. Nevertheless, Hall's Chevrolet refused to warrant the tire or absorb any part of the replacement cost. As a result of this experience, I have decided that this will be both my first and LAST purchase or service visit at Hall's Chevrolet in Canton, Texas. Money over customer satisfaction here The lack of accountability and unwillingness to address customer concerns was disappointing, especially considering the reputation I expected from a dealership like Hall's Chevrolet. I believe that customer service should extend beyond simply performing routine maintenance and should include standing behind both the vehicles and the work provided. This situation has left me feeling undervalued as a customer, and I sincerely hope that others will be cautious when considering their own purchase or service decisions at this location. read more

I bought a preowned truck from 1200 miles away. The salesman Joe was very good to work with, inspecting the truck with me on the phone and sending me pictures of any imperfection he could find. When I flew in to pick it up there was a last minute surprise (honest mistake), Hall's team regrouped, brought people in overnight to make it right. These are stand up folks. I took my GMC Acadia in for check engine light last week. They were so unbelievably helpful and accommodating!! They gave me a loaner car since I live 30 min away, helped me switch over my multiple child carseats and explained clearly what was going on with my car. The service man was honest that he wasn't 100% sure this would fix the check engine light (but it did). Very nice people to work with and they fixed an issue another local dealer may have created in changing my oil filter. I would definitely go back. read more

Henry Lewis advertises a lot on local radio stations. While some of his specials are good others are what appear to be his winning bids from auto auctions. Most of his 1-2 year old bargains come from the inventory of rental care companies desperately ready to get rid of stripped down cars with about 36k miles on them and either out of factory warranty or very close to it. As an eighteen year old, I made the mistake of buying a one year old former rental car that had been abused so badly the transmission had to be replaced within 6 months of my uneducated purchase. I did NOT purchase that rental car from here, but all carry the same issue. I did once try to buy a new car from Mr. Lewis and the second he found out I was in my early 20's with no bad credit but no built credit he sad too bad so sad and told me to get lost. My Corvette, along with many other Corvettes has a wiring issue pertaining to the low beam headlights. They just go out after the wiring for that circuit heats up. It is a recallable item however General Motors advises me they do not yet have enough complaints and therefore will not make a recall until such time they do. I thought perhaps this small dealership, which is reported to sell a lot of Corvettes, would have a good insight into the issue and perhaps I could get a repair made (at my expense) on the wiring in the fuse box or by replacing the fuse box. What I found out was the service department had no knowledge of the issue and while I waited they stated they were looking on the internet and found no such issues. I asked questions about making such a repair and from the answers I received it was apparent the service department employee had never seen inside a fuse box, let alone repair one. After I ask if they had internet, I retrieved my iPad and was trying to get internet service so i could show them the issues. Then I found out from Mr, Lewis , the dealership does NOT have internet for the public. Apparently the only internet available for the employees is one through General Motors. I then advised I would go a head and get the fuse box replaced. Then I was advised they had no fuse box and could not even order one and guarantee a delivery. I ask if it could be done in three days, three weeks, three months or would it take longer. The reply was "I don't know". Looks like I "struck out". EDITED 9-3-2014 I went to another Chev dealer and purchased a fuse box and installed it myself. When I ask the parts manager how long installation should take his answer was, get a beer, allow 30 minutes, drink the beer and you will still have some time left. He was very close to correct. Glad I did not leave my car for an extended period of time with any dealer. The replacement of the fuse box could be done by anyone with a little mechanical knowledge.And to think I was going to pay a mechanic for installation when the mechanic apparently was no that knowledgeable about the issues. read more

Henry Lewis Chevrolet was like stepping back in time. Brad, was Henry's assistant. Asked me what I needed. I told him my wife was in a wreck a few days ago and my old truck was totaled. We needed a truck asap. Mr. Lewis, came out to meet me and told me the price of the truck. Ask me about my credit and I told him what it was around. Well they ran my credit late that afternoon. However, the weather may have delayed the report. Nevertheless, Brad and I agree that I would check back in the morning. Much to my surprise! I called Mr. Henry ,and he said" come on down for your truck." Walked in the dealership and was met by Brad. Mr. Henry was on the phone and waved me into his office. He had my interest cut by half and my payments for under $70 dollars a month cheaper than my old truck payment. He had my payments for a shorter term too. Which really help me out. We have the truck that works for us. Mr. Henry had the paperwork done in 20 minutes and the truck was ready for us to leave . For a small town feel. I recommend the drive out to Lewis Chevrolet highly. It made not be the Dallas experience. Hitting the bell and people shaking your hand you don't know and telling you that you got a great deal. I got to deal with the owner and not multiple salespeople and a finance person. Mr. Henry C. Lewis, tells you what he can do and you can take him at his word......I'm glad of my new relationship with Lewis Chevrolet.
