Nobody really wants to move to assisted living... but the staff and atmosphere at Stonewall Gardens is welcoming and embracing. This has been a much needed resource to the aging LBGTQ+ community. Many staff share similar life experiences and individuality is embraced. Great care has been taken during COVID and there have not been any infections. Life has many transitions, especially as we age. If I find my self in need of assisted living services, I wouldn't go back in the closet... I'd go to Stonewall Gardens instead.

A staff member will answer all of your questions and invite you for a tour and get you started. From our experience, the life of our loved thrived and our lives became immeasurably improved. The friendly staff is always present, always helpful, always happy. The buildings and grounds are open, beautiful, inviting and well maintained. Activities for the residents are varied, entertaining, fun and educational and more than I can keep track of. They include visits to popular local sites, restaurants, theaters and movies on site. Author visits, musical performances, educational events, holiday events and pride events and more. Medical issues are addressed by an on-site nurse. Meds are administered to those who need them, residents are driven to medical appointments and help is there when needed. I cannot say enough good things about the good care that my friend is receiving at Stonewall Gardens. Call them for assistance for your situation. Dan M.

Family paid for top care level 4. She was left alone to fend for herself. Meals given, if not eaten no attempt to help her. Food horrible. Even staff said it was horrible. In a 10 day period they gave 1 shower. Family did 3 when they came to visit. We were starting to see red flags on lack of care. So I pulled bathroom emergency cord to see how long it took staff to respond. 45 minutes passed before someone showed up. Unacceptable!!! She ultimately fell in very early am hours not discovered for several hours. She was rushed to ER via ambulance. Luckily ok. We brought her back to our home after the incident. She had lost 10 pounds in 10 days. We were never able to bring her health back up from the experience she passed a being home with us less than a month later. Long story short this is not a place I would ever recommend. If care about your loved one do more research. I feel like we were duped by the Office staff. They have a few good care givers but they are so underpaid, understaffed and overworked they can do very little. 1 person for 14 patients on a couple of the occasions I was there. She went in relatively healthy beginning of February 2025 and passed in March. Absolutely Disgusting how our Elderly are treated!!!

The longest serving is Brenda the laundry person and Tony the handyman. Beautiful people that are patient and thorough! This last 3 months has been especially difficult but I felt pampered and cared for as well (I'm sure usual for everyone). The caregivers/ dining staff (Scott, Bree, Amanda, Malia, Kayla, Jason, Elizabeth, Darleen, Didi, Karen, Martha, Daniel, Polly and others I have forgotten their names) treated Mom like their Grandma. Carmelina and Patrick listened to our needs and came through over and above. Daniel listened and helped us with family grieving for our future as well as our present. I would wholly recommend this facility for any loved one. May they be blessed and carry on this great work! Stephanie

Not her fault the corporate owners are not keeping up with the one thing residents need and look forward too which is a good meal with choices and sufficient supplies to last each month which one expects when they are keeping up on the full rent every month. It's also a social point for residents to be able to have a good meal with their friends there I'm not understanding the answer from the establishment I don't think the state steps in with general truthful comments. Maybe if you answer then wrong ? It's almost 90 days of lockdown and I'm getting complaints of the poor food quality it's sodium and sugar packaged and canned foods on paper plates at their doors . Not fit for diabetics. There is not any opportunity for exercise at all. My friends are getting attrify sitting in there wheel chairs and they can walk. Personal caregivers are not allowed inside I'm helping a blind friend that just had a heart attack and he needs me to help him with all the paperwork and appointments as well as his visual aide . I'm Covid free and very careful. He does not have an iPhone but an iPad but needs more instruction. He's to have a special diet and yesterday morning he got powdered eggs , a dried sausage patti and a small sweet roll a dab of fruit jelly. He's a diabetic and lost part of his foot already! The administrator is out on maternity leave and they have a guy without any credentials or experience is healthcare in charge and they tell me he has no care or compassion for their situations ! In a pandemic no nurse on duty to visit residents to see how they are doing daily or even weekly my friend was lethargic for over a week in his room and no one suspected anything and he got a fever and off the the ICU and had a heart attack when he got there . Now he's alone in his room and no one to help him which is what I'm suppose to do I went at least once a week prior to lockdown for almost a year to help him. Then another friend has lost her short term memory without any stimulation her son is not allowed to visit for her needs. There have been no Covid19 cases there and no deaths from it. That's great but they will expire from lack of attention and proper diet if one person gets it there they will all go down as their health is compromised by lack of direction , diet and exercise. One friend is now immobile as they would not let a known physical therapist that has worked there before in to help him and he's blind now too. They do allow a caregiver in for him twice a week. But I cannot help Andy. And one other friend that was very active is now attrifiing now and the food is undesirable plus the monthly fee is still full amount and the food is sub par. They need a qualified administrator replacement on staff and not a clerk without any compassion or knowledge of health for s

THEN LIED AND STATED THEY DIDN'T KNOW I WAS THE MEDICAL POA, despite requiring that document before admitting my father. While the caretakers are glued to their cell phones all day, the residents sit in furniture (chairs/couch) they are unsafe as residents can easily fall out of them without supervision. Despite the considerable monthly fees we paid, my father was repeated fed frozen food, starch and cheap sugary juice. One caretaker who manhandled my father (and was subsequently fired) stole money from my father's wallet, after washing it in the laundry along with his cell phone, and never took responsibility for either, nor did the center. The owner Ken is responsive and charming you until your loved on as been admitted, then everything changes and he becomes a bully. He takes days to answer texts and even longer to respond to emails. When we moved my father into his room, it was filthy, the toilet wasn't mored to the floor, the paint on the medicine cabinet was all pealing off , the mattress they supplied was filled with straw and had to be replaced and the dresser that came with the room was so beat up and filthy it too had to be replaced. There is now an investigation into the legality of releasing my father without alerting me. It would be better to be homeless than to put a loved one into this dump!!!!!
