From day one, the staff went out of their way to learn my mom's routines, what she likes to eat, and even little things like how she takes her coffee. It's obvious they genuinely care and know the residents by name -- you feel it every time you walk in. The managers are visible and approachable, and someone always takes time to say hello or check if we need anything. The building itself is bright, clean, and welcoming without feeling sterile. Mom's apartment feels like a real home -- enough privacy but close to help if she needs it. The dining room surprised us; meals look good, and Mom says breakfast is her favorite. They also have fun events -- I've seen everything from live music to craft afternoons to outings in town. It's nice to know she has chances to socialize and stay busy. Like anywhere, there can be small hiccups (sometimes response times can slow if they're short-staffed on a busy evening), but we've always found the team open to feedback and quick to follow up. That kind of communication makes a huge difference for families. If you're looking for a senior community where people are kind, the atmosphere feels warm, and the care is tailored to each resident, I'd strongly recommend StoryPoint Prospect. It's given our family a lot of peace of mind knowing Mom is safe, comfortable, and actually enjoying her days.

It compares very favorably on cost as well. My mother has resided in the personal care level section of Parr's for the past four years. She came in overmedicated and in a wheelchair. She is now fully cognizant, able to go about independently on a walker. All of this was accomplished through the Parr's staff. We've visited her regularly for meals - usually in the dining room but sometimes something she whips up in her in-unit kitchenette - and I've always been happy . . . you may even find me going back for seconds, especially if it's the dining room's mac 'n cheese! This New Year's Eve I joined her for their NYE party, which wrapped up early enough for me to join some friends for a shindig later. In any case, I was pretty satisfied with the toasted Brie, fruit, tarts, Swedish Meatballs, and other assorted munchies they provided for the event. There was even a toast of sparkling grape juice to cap off the evening!

There are a good variety of activities for everyone. She even got involved with wi bowling. There are religious services on site. Her 644 sq. ft. apartment had private bedroom, galley kitchen, handicap safe bathroom, and ample storage. Unfortunately her bedroom set didn't fit too well. There are two safety pulls in each room. Weekly housekeeping is very good. There are daily specials, and the regular menu is very extensive. Laundry facilities on each floor are free. The facility is very clean, updated, with additional activities on each floor (i.e. bridge/cards, jigsaw puzzles, Mah Jong, etc.) The residents were very friendly, upbeat, and happy. She really enjoyed it there. Brownsboro Park is privately owned by a family in MN. I believe this is what keeps costs down vs. 'chain' facilities. The owners come down on a regular basis to meet with the residents. Oh, I neglected to mention the beautifully kept grounds. A pond, Gazebo, and lovely walking paths. There are quite a few places to sit outdoors.

One long-term resident in Independent Care described it to me as "a cruise without the water." It's a congenial, resort-like atmosphere with good food, many diverse activities, beautiful surroundings and excellent staff. The Personal Care floor, which I'm more familiar with, caters to residents with advanced needs. The hardworking, friendly, compassionate staff on this floor earn their angel wings every day. It's an extremely demanding job but they manage to remain cheerful and give each resident special attention. Here residents enjoy large, well-appointed suites plus several spacious, nicely decorated common areas. All-in-all I'm a great fan of Sunrise of Louisville and eternally grateful for all they do.

Thank God for Sunrise which is nothing like that. The place is so lovely and all of the employees were just too sweet & caring. When we lost mom a few months later the staff didn't make us vacate the apartment in a hurried manner but instead told me we could take as much time as we needed. I'll never forget how truly wonderful they were to my family.
