We were so excited to discover that Kahwa Coffee has a new location in Port Charlotte. What a…read moreterrific find. We visited on a Saturday morning, and the shop was busy and lively. This is a full-service, sit-down coffee shop. It's not just a drive-through like so many places these days. A comfortable spot to relax indoors with air conditioning, or you can choose outdoor seating at tables with umbrellas if you'd rather enjoy your coffee alfresco. Since it was a warm day, I ordered an iced coffee. The barista was friendly and prepared my medium roast with care. It was flavorful, refreshingly cold, and perfectly balanced once I added some cream and sugar for a touch of richness. I thoroughly enjoyed my drink, and I'll definitely be back again.

The ambiance here was really nice and I loved the amount of fresh/unique offerings. We ended up…read moregetting a Fusion Fizz which was one of their handcrafted energy drink offerings served with coconut milk, a hot chai and a quiche. I found the energy drink to be a bit lackluster compared to its description, I think I wished it had a bit more flavor. The dragon fruit flavor seemed to be lost amongst the coconut milk. The chai, however, was full of spice and delicious. I really appreciated that they offered multiple milk options including dairy free/vegan. The star was definitely the quiche though which we got heated up, the crust was flaky and buttery while the egg was well seasoned with tomatoes and mozzarella sprinkled throughout. The baristas were really kind and were patient as we perused the menu. I found the drinks to be a bit on the pricier side, especially for modifications. I don't think this would be my everyday coffee shop but definitely plan to stop by as a treat for some more of their baked goods when I am in town.

As you enter, there's a few tables for sitting and sipping or you can head to the couches and lounge chairs to relax and unwind with some board games or view the unique artwork/memorabilia on the walls. They have some specialty coffee drinks and tea flavors along with the classic coffee concoctions such as cappuccinos and americanos. As for teas, you can get those hot or iced. They have quite the selection of flavors such as hibiscus or honeydew. And if you're hungry, plenty of pastries to choose from along with breakfast and lunch sandwiches. Ice cream is also served here and it's Blue Bell! As someone who lives in Texas where Blue Bell is a blue blood, my heart skipped a beat seeing they serve it here. The baristas behind the counter are energetic with engaging personalities. One of them mentioned she's a coin collector and talked about the history of the penny which is being discontinued. My girlfriend and I found her facts and analytical dialogue fascinating as we heard her talk about it while we sipped our drinks. Yes, we were entertained! Definitely a must visit when you're in Punta Gorda; so glad it's within walking distance of mom and dad's!

For those who just want to chill or play games, it's a nice lowkey spot. I normally get lattes and a croissant. The other pastries look great but I haven't had a chance to try the selection yet. The staff is always friendly and I like the vibe in there. Plenty of parking since it's located in a shopping strip with a parking lot. As far as the location itself, it's easy to get to but sort of tucked away near the highway.

I stumbled upon Kava Culture Kava Bar while working in the Port Charlotte area. What a great find!…read more I didn't know what to expect when I entered this funky joint. My boring self just ordered a standard latte. Boo! They use the Kava Plant in their various drinks which I will absolutely try next time. A very cool and welcoming vibe with great music. I had to erase my good review i wrote when KC first opened. What's the deal with this place? This…read moreplace was good for the first 3 years it was open. The past few years have been awful. The prices are absolutely ridiculous. After parking down the street and walking over because all of the parking is tied up from gators. I walk in, sit down an order a drink at 1045. I'm asked if i want it to go? Wouldn't i be standing at the register to order a to go drink. How unwelcoming. Then 10 minutes go by and now we are being told to cash out. I ask when did they start closing early. The kava tender said to many males are in at night and make the female kava tenders feel unsafe. She said she had 2 things left to do before close, which having talked to many kava tenders in the past I know closing down takes a long time. 11pm on a Saturday night when your hours have always been 3am like its listed publicly on everywhere?????Sure. If that's even true, that's the business problem, not the customers, surely not male customers problem. If you have unruly customers fix that. Don't blame every male who walks in the door. I was a regular there for years, and had been coming since it opened. Second, i over hear complaints about a bad tipping customer which i have overheard other kava tenders say before in the past. This place is so toxic and unwelcoming. If your not part of the "high school like" little click of kava tenders friends, they will shun you, and bad mouth you, spread false rumors often with in an earshot. If you go on game night or anime night its even worse. The chill vibes are fake or just for some people, it serves the people who work there's social agenda. Nobody comes here at night anymore. There are no meaningful specials. Its dead. I will put my KC growler in the trash and not give another dollar to this place, the people who work there, or this company! You get the same feedback over and over, you apologize and then all the same stuff continues. Look at your employee "working at Kava Culture" reviews, there terrible and say the same thing. Their reviews are sitting at a dismal 1.9 to 2.5 out of 5 stars across their corporate profiles. If you cant fix that, you cant fix the customer experience either. I've given this place too many chance, come back after 6 month break and its worse. I'm done!

Watch out Florida! There's a new (boba)bae in town!…read more A few girls and I had travelled 2500 miles from Cali for a school business trip and came across this little gem. Tucked in the heart of Port Charlotte, discovering this place was a breath of fresh air as boba have been a staple back home. With a smaller, more intimate menu, it was easier to choose a drink as I always find myself overwhelmed from too many available options. I opted for one of my top 3 favorites which is taro smoothie with honey boba. The drink was tasty and creamy and the boba had a nice consistency. One of the girls from my class took a leap of faith towards the Vietnamese coffee as a first timer and loved her drink. The right amount of punch smoothed out by a blanket of condensed milk to ease the edge. Our drinks barely made it out the shop and I was close to ordering a second one. The place was an absolute vibe with a nice greenery backdrop and a decorative neon light for IG photos. The workers were really sweet and we had even met the owner of BobaBae who had been so genuine and kind. It was beautiful and inspiring to hear her passion and love for both boba and Florida. Thank you BobaBae for making our first experience here in Port Charlotte much more welcoming and comforting!
