It's been so hot here about 100 degrees the last two days, followed by heavy thunderstorms around 3 or 4 o'clock. So we decided to take a ride and take Freckles with us because she really freaks out from the storms. So off we went north toward Punta Gorda. I was craving a really good cappuccino, Dave a frozen frappe and Freckle's a pup cup. We decided to give Patty a visit at the Punta Gorda Coffee and Tea. It was just too hot to sit outside on their lovely patio, facing Fisherman's Village and the River. So hot and heavy that Dave went in and ordered for us while Freckles and I stayed in the comfortable air conditioned car. The staff is so helpful. A few times they have helped Dave and brought the drinks right to the car. My cappuccino is always perfect, foamy and delicious. I can't say enough about David's frappe. It was frozen coffee with chocolate snd caramel and topped with homemade whipped cream. Gosh, I've been on a diet since I was born and it's just not fair! But I did taste his-perfect for a hot humid day. Freckles was waiting for her pup cup that has whip cream and little dog bone treats on top. She really enjoys it and she forgot about the bad weather. So after we headed home into the heavy rain, happy to have left the house for a nice treat. read more

Such welcoming and friendly staff! I barely opened the door when this warm staff opened the door for me and welcomed me inside. This was my first time so she explained the coffee & tea portion and area. In the same shop there's also some unique wines for purchase, a chocolate area which is made in house! And even a wine tasting area. So awesome! Of course on top of that they sell all different types of coffee beans and some tea. I met my friend and we both got their coffee flight! WOW delicious and variety. It was a lot of caffeine but worth it and I was still fine to sleep that night haha, for my meal I got their breakfast sandwich, it was delicious and I love that it came with a side of fruit! I wish I lived closer but I will definitely come back here again. It's such a great idea, not just a morning cafe but great for the whole day. Some seating outside as well if you have a dog with you. So the best thing about this place was the cappuccino. We ordered two quiche. One Lorraine and the other spinach, tomato and feta. They were two of the most horrible we've ever had. Finally got to try this place and it did not disappoint! My son and I were so excited to see that they had a coffee flight on their menu! SOLD! It is A LOT OF CAFFEINE..so be forewarned. But it is way cool and each coffee totally different. Super cute place, however the outdoor seating is along highway 17 and it can be loud. We had their egg and Gruyère panini and their German chocolate bar...All excellent! Their staff asked if it was our first time in the place and they totally gave us the rundown. Very nice staff. They were constantly cleaning their outdoor tables even thought no one was sitting in them.They have lots and lots of beans..so I might have to go back for that..and lots of tea leaves that can cure any ailment. Came in for a snack between running errands. The staff was very attentive the shop was clean and almost empty. There were two ladies sitting at a table toward the back. I asked questions about decaf options because I'm a lightweight. I wanted everything in there, HANGRY was knocking at my door but I still was hanging on to nice and polite. After a bit of back and forth, I ordered for my love. He got a large double espresso mocha frappe as well as a cinnamon roll with buttercream frosting. I chose a medium decaf white chocolate frappe and a apple turnover. There are hardly any pictures of food items because it was devoured. Hubby wolfed down half his frappe and all of his cinnamon roll so quick, I didn't even get a picture. I was no better my frappe disappeared so quickly, I barely tasted the first half (laughing). But the second half, I'm guessing my blood sugar had risen because I could think more clearly and got a few snaps of my apple turnover. My frappe was nice, I just had Starbucks on the brain (ruined?) the turnover was amazing. My love said he enjoyed everything:-) The location is so picturesque you feel almost like you're in a postcard. They had all kinds of coffee, tea, syrups, smoothies, sandwiches, refrigerated drinks. I was super happy to find out this was within walking distance of my hotel. It was a beautiful morning so I chose to walk. It is a very clean very nice vibe the barista greeted me immediately -she was incredibly knowledgeable, very kind, friendly and very helpful I was very happy to hear that the flavors and syrups are made in house and with minimal sugar -that was huge for me. I got a large latte with flavorings and it was spectacular! Seriously like a level 30 latte LOL it was fantastic one of the best I've had in a very long time! The beat part was how incredibly creamy the foam was! The atmosphere is pretty cool the Wi-Fi is strong and there are tables outside which I would've preferred but it was very windy and I had to do some work on my computer so I chose to sit inside. There is one outlet against the back wall that made it much easier for me. Save yourself the hassle and go to Starbucks! It's no wonder Starbucks always has a line, because the staff is friendly and it is so convenient and easy. Coffee tastes like water. This place is extremely difficult to find, and there is absolutely no parking available. Furthermore, they do not have a restroom, but they send you around the block to A public restroom that is dark, and feels somewhat unsaved. I checked out Punta Gorda Coffee and Tea with my mom and we are seriously OBSESSED. The girls working were super sweet and talked about the menu and let me know that the syrups are made in house. The lavender latte definitely exceeded my expectations, and all of the bakery items we tried were phenomenal (spinach ricotta pastry, ham and cheese croissant, and a cream puff; all super light and fluffy). They have a wide variety of tea, beans (Black Gold, YUM), coffee brewing devices, & other goodies to purchase. They're also the sister store to the chocolate/wine shop, which we sampled, and they were even better than Norman Love! I highly recommend checking this shop out, you won't be disappointed.
