We just came in and got the keys copied on the spot and it was about $8 per master key. Glad to see this business still thriving. My lock and key that I bought somewhere else were stolen, so I bought a replacement (not from Hall's). Well, the new lock was keyed the exact same as the stolen one! What good is a lock if everyone who has it also has the same key? Buying a lock from that other company was a mistake! Ed at Hall's was straight up with me that I had bought some cheap junk, and it couldn't be rekeyed. But he did us a solid and got us a lock that works, and has a unique key, like you would expect. Needed a key made from work. Since I was in the Vallejo area, I found this shop by a Yelp search. Upon entering, the guy was on the phone, which I didn't mind. The place looked like a typical Locksmith key shop....keys and safes everywhere. I gave him my key to be made and he told me he didn't have that type of set. Hundreds of thousands of keys and he didn't have mine, which other key shops had no problem having. He did offer to order it for me but it would have been tomorrow... ***He did hinted to me that my key was a special set and HomeDepot or Lowes wouldn't have it...I had to go to a Locksmith for it...I'm guessing a real locksmith. read more

Can't recommend Hall's highly enough! Jim (the owner) really helped us out in a difficult situation. We got locked out of our house (in our backyard with our dogs, no less) when a guest left and locked all the doors while we were sitting on our patio. Of course this happened on a holiday week and all the locksmiths we called were busy. Hall's was also busy, but they took the time to refer us to other locksmiths who might be able to help sooner. When no one else was available, I called Hall's and told them we would be willing to wait for the two hour time window they had quoted earlier. We waited and called the business to find out where the representative was and the customer service said they didn't know where the representative was and hung up. Check your keys before you leave! I had a duplicate ignition key made for my Toyota at Hall's and when I needed it (three months later) it didn't work to start the car. I called Hall's who told me it was "my fault" for not checking to see if the key worked before I left their store. Very bad -- and costly $90.00 mistake. Seems to me that Hall's could have at least offered a discount on a key that actually works. read more

First time I went there the guy said he would call me back if he could find a blank the an old motor cycle. Never heard from him. Second visit they made two tiny keys and the cost was $8 and I didn't have quite enough cash so gave him a credit card. He informed me that he would charge an extra .50 cents. No big deal but for the .25 it was going to cost him I would have let it go if I were him. Third time I thought I needed a second chip key for my car. Called and it was going to be $95 which is cheaper than dealer. I'd forgotten I had a second key under the bumper but since I'd called I went anyway with the intention of getting a third key. He wanted $45 but I declined because I knew I could get two for $25 on EBay. He got a a bit indignant "have fun" and said he would charge $25 to cut it. Lowes cut it for me and the nice girl did not charge me. I already knew how to program it. So not a huge deal but I'm not going back because of the attitude expressed in three visits. They need to exhibit a cheerful gratitude when folks come in. read more

Looked for a locksmith for two days and finally found this one! He's truly a lock specialist! My office had a very unique hand altered key that the locksmith was able to duplicate 3 times!! And they all work!!
