I just bought a new home and decided to upgrade all the exterior locks and handlesets to keyless entry. I purchased all the hardware myself (yay for Black Friday and Christmas sales) and set about looking for a locksmith to install everything and key them all alike. He installed everything perfectly and took the time needed to make sure everything was properly aligned (at least one of the doors needed some extra work). He rekeyed all my locks alike and made the # of copies that I requested. After installation Herman even showed me how the locks work and explained some key differences between two types of locks that I bought. He gave me a bit of advice about programming them and maintaining records. This was greatly appreciated, and he is very knowledgeable. When I originally planned to upgrade my locks, I was going to DIY it. I opted to hire it out because it would be much faster, and I'm glad I did. I called to get an estimate to get my locks changed. The owner Herman asked what's wrong with my door locks and he actually said it's more cost effective to just re-key the locks vs. changing the lock mechanism.
