Never had a bad experience with Halls. They always do a great job of troubleshooting and repairing my vehicles, without overcharging or telling me parts I don't need. I generally do my own work on cars but the trust them with bigger problems. read more

I took my car to a local service center for a spring tune up in April) to find out the mechanic at Halls FORCED the wrong oil pan on in addition to what Halls charged me it cost an additional $800. Today I put new tires on the same car and was told two (2) lug nuts were cross threaded luckily it didn't have to pay for new lug nuts or labor read more

I have taken both of our vehicles to Halls about 4 times since moving to the area. I have never been a fan of the people who run the front desk. They treat you like they could care less that you have chosen to spend your hard earned money with them! Today I was in for an oil change, and when I saw the guy who had been working on my truck walk in, I walked up to the desk asking if the truck was ready, to which the women at the desk replied, " I'm not there yet" okaaayyyy... and as I walked back to my seat, I hear her say, " Dont push" and the grey haired man next to her laughed! Definitely not a pleasant way to let someone know that you will be right with them in a few moments! Just plain rude, and apparently unappreciative of my business, which is just fine with me. I will be taking my vehicles back to where we used to go before moving from Toms River. A further drive, but at least we were treated with respect! read more

Stopped in on a Monday a few weeks back to have a tire repaired. It was mid day and somewhat busy so I wasn't expecting express service. Was met at the counter by a rather grouchy woman. Told her that I had a tire I would like to have repaired. She scuffed and told some other man behind the desk what I was looking for. Just as grouchy as her, he responded that they don't have time that day. I figured as much but was expecting at least the following day. It's a flat tire after all. Nope! As he clicks away on the computer he looks at me like why am I still standing here. He then barks if I wanted to make an appointment for Friday. I told him he had to be kidding, make an appointment to repair a flat tire?! Obvious to me that customer service and driver safety not their concern. Again, I did not expect service that moment but to wait till Friday and the aditude I got with it. I left the shop and went down the road to another shop. Was pretty busy themselves, with a full garage, and two tow trucks dropping off when I stopped by. Within 45 minutes and under 20 bux they not only made the repair, but remounted the tire on my truck, and replaced the spare in the storage area. There are still some businesses out there willing to go the extra mile. Apparently Hall's is no longer one of them. Very disappointed with them! read more

This place is a complete rip off ! And most of the positive reviews you see about this business are fake ! I paid these people over a thousand dollars to get my van ready to go to Florida. I knew when i got it back that something was still not right. I called them and they said that i just have to break it in. Well it blew up in north carolina, and i had to sell it for scrap. Almost a month ago, I noticed that the AC in my truck was not working. After noticing that Hall's was part of the Manchester Card program, I dropped it off for them to look at. They called back and gave us a price to fix the issue. When we called back to schedule the appointment, the price had gone up almost $80. They said that it was a disposal fee and the taxes. (note: on the final bill, the taxes and disposal fee were only about $50). They adjusted the price and I reluctantly dropped it off for the service to be completed. The service was completed on time and the problem was fixed. However, that was the ONLY good part. Upon inspection, I noticed that 10-12 items from my center console we thrown on the back floor and seat. When I confronted the staff, I was told that Joe, the mechanic, had to leave at 4pm to go to class and said they would talk to him. Besides my stuff being thrown around, there were sweaty hand and arm marks on the windows and outside mirrors as well as a greasy hand print on my leather seat. As I drove away, I heard a noise in the dash on the passenger side and noticed a small metal clamp on my front floor board. The noise sounded like a marble rolling around. Since they were already closed, I took it back the next day. Once they looked at it, Joe told me that it would take a few minutes to fix. He said that he had dropped a socket in there sometime while he was working and could not find it and then joked that he also had lost his wedding ring in another vehicle . Then he came back and said that he also dropped his magnet in there while trying to fix it. After a few more minutes it was fixed....or so I thought. The next day, while driving around I heard a similar noise on the driver side. I called Hall's and left a message because they were closed already. Since they were closed on Sunday, I waited until Monday and expected them to call me back. It never happened, so I tried to call and the line was busy for the 15 minutes that I tried calling twice that day. Tuesday was the same issue with not being able to contact them. So I ended up fixing the issue myself. I had to take out about 10 screws, and remove my dashboard display to discover that they had not put a screw back in. After feeling around, found it and installed it correctly myself. After several hundred dollars and the hour I wasted driving it back and waiting and the time that I spent fixing it myself, I will NEVER EVER go to them again and wish I would have never gone there in the first place. One of the plastic panels that they removed, does not sit flush anymore. Probably has something to do with all the extra pieces. read more

Terrible customer service! I had spent a ton of money on my vehicle and and five minutes after I let my check engine light came on and my exhaust pump was up against my vehicles frame. Then I took my vehicle back so that they could fix it and I had an appointment for 8am, but I waited an hour for my vehicle to get worked on. After that they happened to find someone else wrong and tried to charge me even more money. This business is terrible and money hungry. I do not recommend going here because you'll waste money and end up disappointed. read more

I am a devoted customer of Hall's. They have done numerous repairs on my car and have always done right by me. There were a couple of times they could really have ripped me off if I knew nothing about cars and they didn't. Once, I brought my car in with a problem and instead of charging me hundreds for the replacement of a part Bryant (their top notch mechanic) did an excellent quick fix and didn't charge me a dime. about 5/2012 my wifes car would not start so I went to jump start with my hot shot but it was not charged enough, AAA and they sent halls gulf to tow car to STS but the driver tried to jump it which he was not supposed to do, he was switching the cables around, then he still could not start it so he towed it to STS. When it got to STS they jumped car and it started right away, but they noticed that the dash board did not work now, it did work when she drove car to work, so "I called halls gulf and they tried to blame me,and refused to do anything to correct their mans inexperience and told AAA that I did it and when AAA and halls gulf was informed that I am ASE certified master tech and have been in the automotive repair field for over 50 years they refused. to talk to me and AAA stood behind them so I had to put out $350.00 for another dash cluster,and I put it in myself. I tried to tell them I just wanted the part money and they told AAA no and that thier man was trained which he was just hired to be a tow driver and I could see he had no experence. I ,would not recommend this place to any one as they lie and do not stand behind what they do and put the blame on you,they refuse to correct their screw ups. their website would not take a complaint, and the wife and husband get nasty with you and refuse to talked to you, and insist it was my fault.
