I had an amazing experience with my services at Mavis Discount tire. I called to speak with someone about my tire issues. Tyler answered the phone and took his time listening to my problem. I didnt feel rushed at all. He let me know the estimated wait time in the shop and suggested I make an appt to avoid the wait. I made an appt and showed up when it was time. Nick (I think that was his name, sorry Nick or not Nick). checked me in and came outside to my car so that I could explain and show him the problem. I had a little wait while I was there but Tyler kept all the customers in the lobby updated on the progress of their car and added a wonderful Southern Charm to the atmosphere. NEVER AGAIN !! I had a 10am appt this morning and arrived at 9:50am. By 10:20 I was still waiting. My car was the only car left waiting. Several cars came in then. At 10:40 a car was taken before mine. I told the kid at the desk again that I had an appt at 10, I was not a walk-in. No explanation except Oh your car is next. Save yours time and nerves because this is not the place where they can help you. Please find a better car repair shop. They don't even know how to change the oil in the car.I give them 6 qts of oil and he wanted to put 5 qts. When lowering the car from the lift he almost ran over it because he forgot to move arms away. (thanks God i was watching and prevented damage my SUV in time) I still dont know if he replaced the gaskets with drain plag and oil filter ( two) oil is leaking from the cartridge filter. They are not worth even one star. This has happened to me not for the first time!!! If you go to them and ask for oil change and rotate the wheels they say that they are so busy and that they don't have enough employees that they can't do the rotation. The only thing they did to me correctly was reset the code for new wheels in my RX. Once again please don't go there for whatever you have to fix. Either they will cheat you and push something else that needs to be repaired or they will do it in such a way that you will pay a second time at another shop. read more

I just had a wonderful experience at Mavis Tire in Manchester yesterday. The day started out crappy with a flat tire for my elderly mom but after calling Mavis, Kent put in a repair ticket and the insurance company sent out a tow truck. The crew managed to repair the tire, saving my Mom money and getting her back on the road quickly. If I can give this a negative 100 I would.. they sripped my drain plug for oil change, they replaced the filter yes , never said a word. I had a mechanic (my own) remove stripped drain plug. Notified MAVIS CUSTOMER SERVICE ..REGIONAL MANAGER ..HUGH OWENS .. I went to get an oil change on my car and the MAVIS mechanic was not a true mechanic. He left the pan that covers the underneath of my car unbolted and barely placed back. He left the airflow hoses under my hood detached. He said I had an oil leak underneath my car but when a true mechanic looked at my car, he found out that a hole was created from most likely a pointy stick that went too far my oil tank. MAVIS is advertising free tire rotation but when you get there, they will try to sell you to buy all new tires and will refuse to rotate your tires. False advertising. Their workers are not true mechanics. I highly discourage everyone to avoid this place. You will end up with bigger problems on your car. I took a 2005 Infinity FX35 that I only drive maybe 20 miles a week to take my mother-in-law to her doctor's appointment for an oil change. It was not until later as I continue to drive the car that I slowly discovered all the bad work MAVIS did to my car. Shame on this company. Their business should be shut down read more

Bought my tire ONLINE paid a deposit. Mavis scheduled my appointment for 12 noon. When I arrived tires were not there. Manager told me he has no control of when my tires arrive. One hour later my tire arrived. My bill was completely different then the online receipt. I had this receipt with me. I understood the additional $3.50 to throw away my tire but thought it should have been on my online receipt. BUT the tire was $12.50 more than what my online receipt showed. Manager told me that's the Corporate tire price every state is different. I explained that this Mavis is where I chose to buy online. He just shrugged his shoulders and ignored me. I had tires install on my car and was told I needed car alignment and tie rods. Had the alignment done but not the tie rods. When I left the shop, I heard a rattling sound on the left side of car. I changed the tie rod myself. The noise was still there. I took the wheel of and found a bolt missing on the brake caliper. The mechanic should go to jail for his workmanship. Requested to have my wife's van tires rotated until I can afford to get new ones, but they insisted that I should not rotate and buy new ones right there and then when I told him I could not afford it yet so they said OK will rotate them and as soon as I got home and looked at the van they did not rotate the tires. I went to this Mavis for my regular oil changes for a long time. I was fine going there for regular maintenance but, when I needed a big repair, my opinion drastically shifted. They totally ripped me off. I felt pressured into letting them repair the car right then and there. I was quoted one price and then charged nearly twice as much because of some "complications" that came up. When I questioned it they made me feel incredible inferior and stupid for questioning their discretion. Upon leaving the shop, the problem that I had with the car to start with was still happening. They did absolutely nothing to fix it again. I called corporate and they directed me to the district manager who was absolutely no help. My apt. was for 10 AM. My 4 Kelly tires weren't at the store but were out for delivery and shoulod be at the store by 1:30 PM. I called the store at 2:15 and the tires were still not there. I was told there was an accident and the delivery was delayed. Well, the tires should have been there by 10 AM. The front desk guy was very polite and helpful. My car overheated while driving and coolant flowed from the radiator cap. I got it home and after it cool down I added some more coolant to the radiator and drove it a few more days with no issues before bringing it in for service. The technicians at Mavis diagnosed it as a bad radiator. That seemed a bit unbelievable to me because I take very good care of my vehicles and I get regular maintenance. I have never in my life had a radiator go bad on a car. Nevertheless I told them to go ahead and do the work. When I picked the car up after it was done I asked what had gone wrong with the radiator and I was told by the shop manager that it could have been any number of things because it's a very complicated system. That service along with an oil change cost me $1,200. A few days later the exact same thing happened. I was driving, the car overheated and I had to pull off to the side of the road and saw a another puddle of coolant under my car. After it cooled I drove to a auto parts store bought some more coolant and added it. I brought it back to this same Mavis and told him I didn't believe my original radiator was bad and there must be another problem. The shop manager then told me that my original radiator had a hole in it and maybe the thermostat they put in was defective. I left it with him to do more work and this time they said they found an air pocket in the coolant in the engine. At that point he brought out my original radiator to show it to me and pointed to what he called a crack behind the foam at the bottom. I took the radiator from him to examine it and noticed that that crack was right inside the bottom outlet tube. I looked inside and saw and felt gouges in the plastic where someone obviously put something in there and hammered it to cause that crack. It was more of a shard of plastic popped out than a crack which reinforces my theory that someone at Mavis caused it. There is absolutely no way that radiator fluid could have caused that type of damage. I have pictures. I've been in contact with the region manager but have yet to hear back from him after several attempts to contact him after my last visit. I'll update this after I hear back from the region manager. Update: I contacted the region manager and asked for the radiator. He initially refused and became very defensive. I insisted he give me the part since I paid for it and I am legally entitled to have it. He continued to refuse, became angry when I told him I'd call the police and he hung up. A few minutes later he called back to retract his statement, I supposed because he realized I was correct, and turned over the radiator to me. I brought the radiator home and using an illuminated digital scope, I took pictures of the inside of the protruding piece of plastic on the radiator. The source of the damage is clear. Update 2/27/19 - I broke down again, the second time since Mavis "fixed" my car. Same problem, car overheated and spewed coolant all over the place. This time I was 300 miles from home and required a tow to a local Subaru dealer. It cost me a small fortune. read more

Do not go here! 1st time I called and made and appointment. I left work early to get there on time. I was there 45 minutes early. When I got there they told me they didn't schedule the appointment, that it was the call center and they wouldn't fix my flat tire because they didn't schedule it. I explained that I left work early and drove and hour and 30 minutes to get here but they didn't care and said I was out of luck, not even a sorry. Flash forward 1 month I gave them another shot for an oil change. I dropped the car off at 10:15 and called at 4:00 to check in on it since I knew they closed at 5:00. They told me "yea we're probably not going to get to it". I asked "are you going to get to it, or what", he then stated " best bet is to just come get it". Once again not a single sorry. Place is garbage. This time it was Tony helping me. When I went to get the car once again they didn't apologize or even look up and me, they just stared blankly at their computer like the spineless people they are at this location. The District Manager called me last time to fix the situation, but this time was another mess up. I email Stephen & David Sorbaro Co-CEOs because they should know how this location is being run. I stress do not go here, unless you want to waste your time and get no work done. 2 strikes your out! One item of note though, I have been going here since they day they opened and the poor management is something new in the last couple of months. Not sure what changed. I almost forgot the last oil change they did they didn't give me back my wheel lock key, so now I have to buy new ones. I will take partial blame for this by not remember to ask for them. read more

My boyfriend had to make an emergency drive to Florida as his mom was diagnosed with 4 stage cancer and he wanted to be there for her chemo today. He realized one od the tires could not make the trip and he called 9 o'clock Saturday morning to ask if you could do it. We would have totally understood if you could not since it was dame day, and would have gone to pep boys who could. Instead you told us no problem.m tire would be there by 12 and put us on the schedule for 1230. I drop the car off at around 11 and again express to the woman and two men behind the counter the urgency of getting it done today and if there was any chance that it would not then I would have to leave because it was urgent that Joe left by 7:00 a.m. in the morning. Again we were assures no problem..will be done! No word rest of afternoon..so my bf called at 4:17 and they said it would be done by 6. Around 515 5:30 we realized online that the location isnt even open to 6..so we went there immediately. Since Pep Boys was open to 8 we still have time o get it done there if you did not. We saw two of your employees outsidel, eaving , doors all locked and our car was locked inside on the lift with no way of getting it. they refused to open the door saying that the alarm was on. Im SURE if their phone, purse etc was inside they would have a way to get it! They said they called us..which is not true because there is no call from them on the phone . We explain to them that we told them at least 3 occasions how urgent it was to have the car back that day. And that all day were told would be done including when we called at 4:17.. The worker whose name was also Joe repeatedly asked " who waits until the last day before our trip to get a tire changed?:. And you know the answer to that? A SON TRYING TO GET TO HIS MOM SO SHE WASNT ALONE FOR CEMO, THAT IS WHO!!!! Not that it is any of your business! Your business was to get the tire done like you said you would from 9:00 a.m.!!! After arguing with them for 10 minutes they swore up-and-down the car would be done by 9:15 in the morning. I told drew as we left I guarantee you that car will not be done 1st thing..and lo and behold right again! We were told in the morning nobody was there to do it yet. we did not get the car until about 10:30! Because of you...had to split trip in 2 days, get a hotel room, and will miss part of treatment. Get your act together! It was like a circus in there! And stop blaming that the call went to the "call center". If we call the number we have and they put us on hold when we ask a question and then they come back and give us an answer then Either they are connecting us with you or they are asking you for the information!!!! And all you did was lie all day about what time and hold our freaking car hostage overnight. Awful awful awful I told Joe not go to you because the 1st time I took my tires there you gave me one price and then tacked on 3 or 4 additional things that were not included in the price which jacked it up by like 25%. Took one of our vans there for an oil change and tire rotation at 20K miles. Tech told my guy that the van needed new rotors and pads on the rear of the van for a total cost of $758.45. Took van the next day to dealer and after removing rear tires said that the pads and rotors are fine. In fact, probably have another 20k left on pads. Beware of these dishonest people!!! AVOID MAVIS TIRE -- 2111 RT 37 West, Manchester, NJ 08759 AVOID THIS MAVIS AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!!! Brought my car in on Monday 15-Feb- 2021 for two new tires. Darlene at the Front Desk comes out to tell me, "Your sensors on the tires are no good." That turned into an additional $90+ job for two tires. The door at their shop was not working to get a wheel alignment and I had a time issue so we arranged for me to come back. When I go to start the car I immediately notice that the "flat tire" light indicator on the dashboard was now on. I go back inside to report this to Darlene at the Front Desk. "Yea, because the sensors in the back have to be changed. When you buy new tires you can change them." So, I now have a new and very important problem that I didn't have before the visit to Mavis. I relied on that tire inflation indicator to know if my tires needed air. So, the only way to remedy that was to buy new tires and install new sensors. $429.+++ job just for the two front tires. I called the next day Tuesday, 16-February-2021 for a 4:00 PM appointment to get the wheels aligned. I see they are pulling in my car to the rack. Suddenly Darlene comes out, "There's a problem with your brakes. The brake line blew out." She takes me out to the mechanic who shows me brake fluid on the ground. "I was pulling the car on the rack and the brake pedal went to the floor." He then shows me brake fluid on the ground and under the rack. Now I had just driven the car from my home to Mavis without a problem. So -- do you think that the Moon and stars were aligned for two days in a row to have this go wrong with my car???? I think not. My suggestion: if for some crazy reason the tires are not available at the scheduled appointment time, phone your customers ahead of time to reschedule the appointment. Terrible customer service. I made an online appointment to get my oil changed. I arrive before my scheduled time and was told they were running a little late I asked how much it was a little and they told me an hour and a half. I couldn't wait as I had an appointment in two hours and what I was told to call back to see when would be a good time. When I called back I was asked if I couldn't leave my car as they couldn't pin a time down within two hours that they could perform the oil change. I'm relatively new to the area and is looking for a place to do my automotive work this facility will definitely not be on my list. This is a poorly run shop if they can't tell within a two hour window when they can do all oil change. It seems they're being left behind why all these quick lube places where you can just drive up without an appointment and get your oil changed.
