Definitely the best ice cream I've had. I love how they freely give samples out to everybody really allows you to taste the quality which is very high before you buy. Some of the free samples include of the coffee of the macadamia nuts, and ice cream. Towards the back, you can see the factory and some of the production line. We will definitely be back to buy some more items. We were just on a little time rush going towards Kona. Be back soon!

This was a great experience for me and the family. Apparently they have a shuttle from Waikoloa to their shop. The greet everyone when they walk in which is awesome. The have all the tasting to the right when you walk in. Nui guided us to the back right where you can watch a 20 minute video of why their macadamia nuts are the best on the island. They also have a macadamia nut cracker that you can do on your own. They have a glass window so you can see the team packing all the nuts. And if you went left when you walk in you can have the wonderful ice cream. The store is bright, super clean, and the layout is organized.

Fun and cool visiting this store. They have free Mac nut and coffee samples, and an interactive section where you can crack your own mac nuts, learn more with videos, and see the factory workers through a glass. Parking very easy in its own lot.

Plenty of parking and just a little bit outside of Kiwaihe, cool quick stop just after lunch. They have a sampling station set up to the right immediately after you enter for Macadamia nuts, and also some of their flavored coffee. If you wanted to try a flavor but it's not there, they're more than happy to give you some. There is a promo for buy 12 get 1 free. Catch it, it must be the same size cans. There's a few different categories of flavors, and each category has their own sized packaged, so it could be hard to mix and match between different flavors. Nice thing about it is the prices didn't seem too expensive. I compared it with a grocery store just a bit later and it's cheaper than the grocery store, so take that for what it's worth.

This place is a must visit on the big island. It's a bit hidden but you will not be disappointed when you get there. They have so many different flavored macadamia nut, a factory for you to check out, macadamia nut tasting, documentaries of how to produce macadamia nuts. Even hand cracking some nuts to taste the raw, before roasted nuts . They advise you not to eat it but we did and it's really good. So it's your decision. Their ice cream is BUMB. So many unique flavors and the quility beats so those fancy boho creams hop in LA. Trust me on ice cream. You have to have at least one!

Mike was not only an expert in all things chocolate, but he is easy to understand, he takes time to teach you and answer any questions and he has a great personality! Many who have tried to grow cacao know that Hawaii is actually not that easy to grow and ferment quality chocolate, so I understand the challenge. Like wine, the weather year to year can affect the bitterness and richness of flavor as much as the processing. I tried 5 different flavors, Hapuna milk chocolate with Hawaiian sea salt, surprisingly bitter for milk chocolate and salt was too strong...my family found it inedible. The matcha blend was a good flavor but had a sandy gritty texture and also on the bitter side. The seasonal pumpkin was better, because I love those flavors and aromas but had a flat taste like it liked cream or fat. The pelagic dark 90% was as expected, on the bitter side but in a good way. Still have to try the 70% leeward cashews with salt but don't have high hopes. Their chocolate dipped peppermint sticks were good, and the turtles were fresh and chewy. Their shop is lovely and nice to take a hot chocolate and enjoy one of their sweets as a short break and the staff are nice. Their merch is cute, the stickers in particular. In summary it's worth a visit to the shop in Kona, but buy their merchandise not their chocolate bars.

Thousands of acres throughout, the number of farms reaching far beyond the hundreds. Some are managed by large corporations while smaller crops are run by family-owned businesses. Like this one, located on the Big Island of Hawai'i. Āhualoa Family Farms. Where you won't find just one farm associated with this local small business, because their macadamia nuts and coffee are harvested in multiple locations on the Hāmākua Coast. Born and raised on the Big Island of Hawai'i, I'm familiar with how vast this area can encompass. A beautiful, scenic 40+ mile coastline stretch with high cliffs, it was the way to Waimea, Waikōloa and Kona while growing up. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ I've garnered a high appreciation for Hawaiian macadamia nuts after my high school band fundraiser required us to harvest them by hand. It's a product I gravitate towards in our local grocery stores, a menu item I'll order if featured as an ingredient. I'll make a point to visit their vendor table at community events. That's how I found Āhualoa Family Farms. First in 2025 at the 32nd annual Hawai'i Arts, Crafts & Food Festival at Nani Mau Gardens. Then in 2026 at the same location during the Merrie Monarch Festival once again. Also at the 2026 official Merrie Monarch Invitational Hawaiian Arts & Craft Fair. Products visually presented lured me towards this vendor, the featured item had a stronger grasp on me. 100% Hawaiian macadamia nuts. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ "SEA SALT - Roasted Macadamia Nuts" An indulgent crunch, each nut with roasted richness. I found the flavor profile simple with a light dusting of fine sea salt. Enough to enhance without overshadowing the butteriness of each Hawaii-grown macadamia nut morsel. It was so divine, I actually returned two days later to purchase more. The freshness of the nuts harvested in small amounts, then roasted in macadamia nut oil makes all the difference in taste and texture. "COFFEE LIQUEUR - Roasted Macadamia Nuts" With eight options to choose from, this one caught my eye. Caramelized crunchy exterior with a buttery center. Their unique macadamia nut flavor and texture is ever so present, as coffee and chocolate notes come through in a subtle way. From Āhualoa Family Farms Hāmākua dark roast coffee, Kahlùa liqueur and natural sugar cane. Harmonious. It made a perfect dessert treat on many nights for me. "MAC BUTTER - Honey Macadamia Nut Spread" A quick stir after opening, the result, decadent and creamy, smooth with a slight thickness. Finely ground Hawaiian macadamia nuts are found in each bite when placed on crackers or toast. A must try like I did, a spoonful just solo. Delicate sweetness from honey brings forward toffee-like aftertones. Luxurious. "VINAIGRETTE - Lemon Macadamia Nut" Balanced, blended and emulsified. A sharp citrus tang, I appreciated the flavor equilibrium of all elements showcased. Versatile as a dressing or marinade, I've only enjoyed this creamy, nutty and bright vinaigrette on my salads. A gourmet upgrade from olive oil, an indulgent taste featuring macadamia nuts from their Hāmākua farms on the Big Island of Hawai'i. A unique stand-out vs supermarket bought dressings. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Their ability to roast macadamia nuts in small batches gives Āhualoa Family Farms an advantage over larger corporations in Hawai'i who mass produce their macadamia nut products. The flavor profile of each nut, every unique item sold is crafted with care and precision. It shows in their packaging, more so, in the taste and texture alone. There's no comparison, exceptional freshness and quality. Āhualoa Family Farms. Tempting items, deliciously crafted. I hope to find them at future community events as a vendor.
