In reviewing them, it is obvious that you have had some strong concerns about how things have occurred in the past and some of the previous communication about these situations. First and foremost we are a member-driven organization, but more than that we are a place where our members can come to enjoy their time with friends and family in a safe, relaxed and fun environment. At the "V" we consider ourselves more than a pool; it is really a place in the neighborhood where our member families can enjoy the summer! Just like any organization, we have some things that require maintenance like the pool, the grounds and our clubhouse. Over the past 2 years, we needed to put in place a "special assessment" that would allow us not only to improve the pool facilities, but to enhance the experience of our club through a renovated pool house, improved landscaping to our grounds and a clean and safe pool. I would encourage any existing, new or future members to come and see the architectural plans we will be executing on our pool house this year, they are remarkable! I think that you will find as although we have a focused improvement plan on the above areas, we also continue to focus on improving the overall experience for our member families. The "V" has a long standing reputation as a positive environment in our community and for our member families, we will continue to grow and foster this reputation. We realize that what we provide may not appeal to everyone but also know that the our communal grill area, scenic grounds, competitive swim team, social activities for both adults and kids, affordability and general fellowship do appeal to many families in our community. There is a water playground with a small kiddie water slide. It's near mobile homes and a restaurant called "Buck's Pit Stop." I'll be coming back here again and again.

We took our 7 and 4 year old grandbabies to visit the splash park here. For a mere 3 measley…read moredollars per kid ( adults free!!!!!!) my kids were able to run wild with other same age kids thru different water park play areas. There is a dual slide in the center of the park that gets the most action. It is great for kiddos age 3 to 9. There are also spray spots all over the play area and large overhead buckets that fill up and spill onto whoever stands underneath. There are sturdy loungers for parents and Oma's like me to sit on as well as a covered area with picnic chairs you can sit under. There is a guard to make sure kids behave. There are clean single toilets right outside the splash park. Outside the splash park is a 4 story mega slide that was amazing. After splashing, the kids must have climbed that slide 30 times before we left to go home. My kiddos were beat after we left. And that is a miracle my friends!

This gym is located on UC's campus and I believe you must be affiliated with the University to be a…read moremember here, but I could be wrong. Like most gyms, it really depends on what time you come to decide if you can get in a solid work out or not. Not a lot of free weights, machines are placed together in a haphazard way; not conducive to sets unless leg and bicep day is on your workout schedule. Squat racks and smith machines are plenty, but usually taken by UC athletes who are deadlifting. Equipment is in okay shape. There are spray bottles and towels available to ensure things are sanitized - in theory, that is. Here is my challenge with this gym: there are numerous signs reminding obtuse college students to wash their hands, practice basic human hygiene, wear appropriate clothing and shoes etc. Do you think anyone adheres to these rules? No. This is the smelliest gym I have EVER been to. EVER. Students are barefoot, in flip flops, wearing jeans - which to me just screams lawsuit (and a yeast infection) waiting to happen. At the end of the day, if you are a student here, this is probably an awesome place to work out - athletic 20 year olds, decent equipment, and lots of signs you won't read. As a grown up spending real money to work out here - try and come in the middle of the morning as you will miss out on all the annoyances.

A bit pricey but a good spot for the area and conveniently located.

They do offer classes which I will take as well and we met one of the owners who was so gracious and he gave a friendly reminder that they do have lessons. We went on Sunday which was gospel skate day from 1pm-330 and it is free to the community. This is every Sunday! Donations are encouraged and if you need rentals it's $3. I think that is a tenfold blessing that they do that! This will be our go to after church. It was beautiful to see families skating of all ages! Loved seeing and feeling COMMUNITY:)

When I was here at the rink I had an awful and terrible experience! The staff seemed nice but were…read moreextremely heartless and cold. I pitched a ticket for 5$ at 7 and skated for a bit. While skating I thought the music was obnoxiously loud it read 89-93 on the online decibel reader. However the music became not just over stimulating, but nausea inducing. So I asked to step outside, they said yes but that they usually don't do it but, the one worker said if you need to get some air yes, which was the case. I stepped out for approximately 30 minutes and while that's a long time, why does it matter? Upon returning I was told I took too long and have to re pay to get in. Mind you I was told I was ok, if I had know it wasn't I would have stayed as I didn't drive myself. In the end I payed an additional 8 dollars as I had no other choice. It's a shame because I visited this place as a kid when I visited Chicago and had fond memories, now I will never return. Overall I had a terrible experience, received nothing but negative and cold energy. You never know what a costumer is going through. And in the opportunity to choose kindness and compassion they chose to do the opposite. (One worker though tried to help me shout out u! )

I've been playing indoor volleyball with this sports league for several years now. I find this…read moreleague to be a little more organized than CMSA. The games are mostly at Center on Halsted, but if there are too many teams in a season there's overflow courts at secondary locations (we've had to play at Inter-American Magnet School and Welles Park in the past). I started out not knowing anything about volleyball, but there are a handful of people willing to help you learn and build skills. Sometimes your team may be offered a mentor if you ask. AAC also offers open gym sessions on Saturday mornings (fall/winter/spring). Games are on Tuesdays and Wednesday nights. Dues and team fees are certainly lower than CMSA. There are changing lockers on the 3rd floor by the courts. The only thing that I might comment on is that the rules for this league may vary a bit from other leagues or official NCAA rules. But that it caters to player safety and the venue (there's long nets separating the courts so it mitigates interference). But I will say this - the organizers are pretty prompt in responding to and addressing any of your concerns. This league also offers Beach Volleyball on Monday nights (at Montrose Beach) - it's less crowded than the Friday night league.

Great pool and tennis programs are the best in the area. Only negative is that there is no tennis in the winter months...you have to join a different club. They need to seriously think of putting a bubble up over the courts.
