Addendum: right after I wrote this review I had the following experience. I walked in desperately looking for croissants and asked if they had any even though there weren't any in the case. A nice lady went into the back, got three of the frozen croissants they would use to make deli sandwiches, rang them up and sold them to me ad hoc. One of her co-workers said "I didn't even know we can do that." And the nice lady replied, "we can do anything the customer wants."

The one thing that they do very very well is their deli. They have a wide assortment of things like pasta salads and chicken wings etc. It's a great way to get something to round out a family dinner or get something to add to your lunch. We come here around 4-5 times a month for small things. And given the proximity and the past salad it'll likely continue to be a place we stop by.

They had a fresh food section on the far left in the center of the store & a beautiful home section to the right of the entry. Even though we really didn't spend much time there I was especially impressed w/the cleanliness & organization of this store. My wife & her brother were anxious to go find someplace to eat as we had just driven to Holland MI from Chicago so we really didn't spend much time here One thing I found that interesting that I had never seen before was a changing station for an adult.

Meijer OREO Persian: For a grocery store bakery, I've been pretty impressed with the doughnuts at…read moremy local Meijer (although the selection is sadly wildly inconsistent). A Pershing/Persian is a doughnut that is similar to a cinnamon roll but is made with doughnut batter. Meijer has had a plethora of Persian varieties lately, with one of them going for a cookies and cream vibe. The surface of this pastry contains a whipped cream-like frosting with miniscule chocolate cookie pieces. Due to their small size, the crumbles don't add any texture but do add a faint chocolate flavor to the creamy topping. One mini-OREO cookie can be found within the topping as the finishing touch. The cinnamon flavor of the pastry's body is sweet and relatively subtle with no uncomfortable burning/heat to it. Cinnamon granules can be seen in the dough after taking a few bites if you look closely enough. I found the dough to have a nice thick and chewy texture while also being light and pillowy. Initially I had some trepidation as the topping did not appear very thick, which concerned me because the topping to pastry ratio would be way off. Although I still think it could have been a little thicker, the ratio was sufficient for the most part. I noticed the one box was completely ripped open on the side and two packs of cards had been stolen from it, so I thought I would bring it to the customer service desk to make them aware people were stealing the cards. The other box was the same as the first and had been partially opened on the side, as if the thief was going to open it and steal packs from it too but didn't get to it all the way. I planned on purchasing the second one at the customer service desk since it had not been opened all the way and nothing was taken from inside the box. The lady at the customer service counter immediately took the obviously opened box from me as they of course could not sell it anymore, which I expected. So as I put the second (slightly opened) box onto the counter to purchase she proceeded to over inspect it and say the thief had stolen from that box as well. When clearly it wasn't even ripped open all the way and nothing had been taken from it. She frantically called her manager and told me he would not allow her to sell either one of them to me. I understand not being able to purchase the first box because it had been deliberately ripped open and two packs were clearly taken from it but the second box was still in good enough condition to sell with all the product still inside the box. But I was not allowed to purchase it due to "legal reasons". I thought this was ridiculous. The customer service representative rushed through the interaction, somewhat misunderstood the situation and over reacted, in turn losing a sale for her store and me a chance for new cards for my son. Needless to say I was pretty bummed out because it was the first time in months I had found any new pokemon product in stock at this location. I understand retail can be difficult and demanding for employees, but customers should leave the customer service department feeling like their concerns have been heard and their issues have been addressed, at least in some way. Especially when the customer is trying to do the right thing. Please do better in the trading card area with security and such, as well as patience and understanding with customer issues. Thank you

Their store made brats come in many flavors, and I also love their smoked meats. They even send out some really good coupons periodically, saving me real money on my grocery bill. When fully staffed, they even bring your groceries out and load them into your car for you. I love shopping at this old-timey family grocery store. Check it out!!
