They check each and every car and low and behold I was asked to drive my motor home to a secondary check point. I had some contraband and was arrested. My girlfriend found Mike Brown on the internet and after I was released I called him up. That was the last time he actually answered the phone. As soon as he gets your retainer you are simply a piece of meat. I had one string of messages that must have been 4 voice mails and several days before I received a response and he didn't have the courtesy to simply look at my file before calling me back. In fact each and every conversation was like starting on square one. I wanted so badly to tell him that if he wasn't a bottom feeder lawyer that he would be indigent as the normal business world would never tolerate such unprofessional behavior. I paid him $5000.00 to represent me and he did a total of 2 hours of work in which 1.5 hours was simply waiting around. He had another client there the same day and our experiences with Mike were the same. Did he really fleece us for $10k and do nothing? Amazing. The day before our trial I left another message as I had to fly in to Texas from California, no return call, the day of my trial I called him to see if he was actually showing up and we finally spoke. When he entered the courthouse, late, he said to me how surprised he was to see all the new faces, new Prosecutor, New Bailiff, and a new judge. He even mentioned how much he hated these young judges because you don't know which way they would go. Incredible! I had paid $3000 in cash bail and had left him messages that I would need to know how to get this back. He totally forgot and didn't know how to do it so he was asking the clerks what he had to do. Well, the paperwork was done wrong and I still don't have my cash, it's been over a month. I have left him messages on his cell and office lines but have still not heard anything, it's been two weeks. He does not have the decent courtesy to return his client's calls. I own two of my own businesses and ended up in this weird place due to my lackadaisical approach to weed but to think that there are jerks like this out there who claim to be decent people when in actuality they are simple crooks leaching off of victims of illegal search and siezures. Who knows if anyone will see this but I find it my obligation to let anyone know how this guy conducts business so they can make the right choice when trying to navigate the muddy waters of our legal system.
