Any event at this stop will inevitably be packed at these two venues, so taking the mass transit and not having to park will help you attend with a little more ease (and you won't have to pay to park!) The Target Field train station lets out right near many of the entrance gates, and when you are arriving and leaving, there are several attendants helping to direct people to the correct lines (and checking tickets, so be sure to have it out and ready to show that you paid to get on the train!) They sometimes add extra trains to the rotation for big events, as they know more people will be taking the transit options. The Light Rail trains are clean and well maintained, and we never experienced any issues with breakdowns or getting stuck, etc. Definitely give them a try for your next event at Target Field/Target Center!

This is a handy stop to cross the river to reach the East Bank of the U of M campus. The Green Line trains may be getting better but the last ride I had I found myself standing in dried urine, and I'm sure it was urine for reasons I won't go into. This is a typical situation the last few years. Most of the riders are decent citizens who just want to get from point A to point B. If someone is troublesome it's best not to stare. If you are feeling really uncomfortable exit on the next stop and take another train, or if you are speedy enough you can hop on the next car. I keep seeing media reports of civilian helpers andmetro transit police on the trains, platforms and bus lines, but I haven't seen anyone official since the program started. To place in context, I'm not a daily rider, just occasionally.

During the day I feel safe, but not so much at night. Stay in the lit areas, watch your surroundings and keep alert and you will be fine. If you feel unsafe just walk down a bit or walk to the other side. People usually get the hint and leave you alone. If you travel to the U of M you probably can't avoid this stop. Being aware of your surroundings is always a good thing at any transit stop.

Both light rail lines (Blue and Green) stops here, though there is an earlier stop (US Bank Stadium stop) that could be easily used for transfer. Cost is $2 for a 2.5 hour ticket, and this station has self-serve ticket kiosks to purchase Go-To tap cards. None of the stops have gates, instead having tap stations nearby the entrances to indicate payment. We used this station to come/go to the airport and used it to take the Green line to go to St Paul as well. Most people will get off on the north platform (coming from St Paul or the Airport) and wait to board the train from the South Platform ( going either South or East). The train consistently ran every 10 minutes, and the digital display accurately showed which train and arrival times.

Usually it's very clean, and there are several lockers to lock up your bicycles. There are only two downsides to this location. First, and you have this anywhere, are the disrespectful people who litter and smokers. There are some smokers who stand far away, and I appreciate that. The ones who choose to ignore the signs in the shelters and stand close by are the ones that annoy me. I'm aware of who I am next to when I overeat, so please be kind with your second-hand smoke. The other downside, and this will change, is that there's no coffee shop or convenience store station-side. There are empty spots for businesses in the apartment building, but as of yet, no stores. You have to play Frogger to get across the street to Walgreen's, Holiday, or Burger King. The lights are timed poorly due to the trains and vehicle traffic, so you will either miss your connection or take your own life in your hands crossing the street at certain times of the day. Now if only I could explain why I found a roll of toilet paper at this station.

There are attendants also, who will make sure you get to the right lines and also check your train tickets. Make sure to have your ticket handy, so you don't have to waste time digging for it when they get to you in line! Sometimes, they will add extra trains to the schedule for larger events, as they expect more people to use public transportation for them. So keep that in mind that you'll have a few more options on those busier days. In my experience, the Light Rail trains are clean and well-maintained for being as heavily used as they are. We never had any problems like breakdowns or getting stuck behind another train, either. So definitely give the light rail train a try for your next event at Target Field or Target Center!

Parking is not ideal, many parking ramps out there and decent walk to the field. I recommend if your not the type of person that needs to get up a lot, to buy seat ticket on the end of the seats where there isn't an entrance so you don't have to get up all the time for people going in and out. There is decent variety of food and drinks. I recommend getting the free refillable pop drinks if you feel you will get many drinks it's worth it since drinks are pricey.

Rather than spend $40 for a taxi all the way to the airport, I let the taxi bring me to the Metro…read morestation. At 12:30 at night, after I climbed up the stairs, it sure felt lonely standing up there by myself. Kinda creepy. Thankfully, I only had to wait for about 20 minutes before the train arrived. This is an elevated station over Lake Street, which in the winter would be insanely cold if there's a breeze. There's a sign next to a button to turn on a heater, but it wasn't operating in September.

Well, I guess like any other public places, make sure you look after your belongings. There is a Park and Ride area next to the station. It is free to park there but I think it is during the day only. I have parked there once and so far nothing has happened to my car. I would say it is safe to do that. The single fair costs $1.75 which is not bad. There are discounts for senior citizens. Enjoy the ride!

The train comes every 10min both direction and depending on how fast you gonna do the hike or just picnic, you can go back with the same ticket you bought with 2hr 30min unlimited ride/transfer benefit. I did the hike watching the falls and then crossing all the bridges1-5, and was able to return on the same pass.
