Showed up last Saturday for a pedicure. Arrived on time. More than twenty-minutes after the appointment was to start a stylist told me she would get to me soon after finishing a haircut. Apparently someone else didn't stay to the end of their shift or there was some other issue. One person, who had an amazingly good attitude for being overworked, was manning the front desk and cutting hair. I decided to leave because no one mentioned there would be a wait. They changed my scheduled appointment every time but once and I was told it was because they needed more barbers to keep up with demand. In that time, I saw 4 different barbers... all 4 are now gone. The manager told me that this was because they let them go but I found out from the other barbers that they quit. Final straw was when the best barber there left. After watching on Shark Tank a couple months ago, I looked up the company and saw there was one in Frisco that I wanted to give a try. After several months, I decided to stop by and came to the realization that this is probably one of the best places I've been to in a minute for a man to just relax and take get himself groomed up. I was introduced by a nice lady who showed me around and how things usually go at Hammer and Nails. While sipping on my complimentary alcohol(Jack and Coke), on one side - she showed me the rooms where men could put on the their noise cancellation headphones and watch the game/tv channels while being accompanied by their technician. And other side were the barbers. Decided to get a beard trim, which came out great and left Hammer and Nails smiling(partly due to complimentary drinks as well). Great place to relax and get groomed. Hammer & Nails is a great place for us guys to go and get pampered without the smells of a traditional nail place. Also, I wasn't bombarded by ladies. Hammer and Nails was on Shark Tank which is how I first heard about it. I got a pedicure, my first in years, and enjoyed the plush leather seats. They also give soundproof headphones to watch tv. Diana gave me the VIP treatment and my feet needed it. The foot scrub felt good and my feet had no callouses when I was finished. I just went in to see about services and the chairs are all empty no one inside to service but pleasant lady at front desk who informed me that everyone is on lunch and today they are working off of appointments only. It's been two days since I had my haircut and I still have reddish irritated skin on my neckline, it has really been bothering me. Especially since it has not gone away yet. I don't ever get razor burn, but I knew immediately when my stylist used her clippers that I was in trouble. The clippers were burning my skin as they were being used to edge up my neck. This only happens to me when a clipper is dirty or not maintained properly. I never expected it at an establishment like this. Needless to say I was very disappointed. A+ in sanitation from COVID questions when entering, hand sanitizer everywhere, lobby spaced out for social distancing and each customer has towel and bib in sealed bag and immediately washed afterward and of course everyone must wear a mask. I've been coming here since we moved last year and loved the place and employees (shout out to Barry simply the best) but now seeing their new sanitization practices even more impressed. Just got first cut since Covid. Was impressed with the measures they took to make sure everyone was safe and comfortable. Available hand sanitizer, employees wearing masks, and barbers were 6ft from each other. They asked questions when you got there to ensure the safety of all. I have Hobbit feet, so it's nice to be able to get them tamed. I can't recommend Evelyn enough for her shaves. She is truly a master of her craft. I was a little skeptical about this place and here it is 6 months later, I'm hooked. I mainly use the nails service because the technician, Kenyetta is GREAT!!! They have some nice people there and great service but I'm very spoiled by Kenyetta. She does a great job doing a manicure and pedicure but takes it a step further by getting to know the things I like and don't like about nail grooming. She Explains the products and lets me know how they work. Offers tips on taking care of my nails in between appointments. I can't say enough about her. If she happens to be booked, I don't mind the wait as I know that she will provide the A+ service. The membership is a great benefit as I get my nails manicured without breaking the bank. I usually don't write reviews but I just want to say a few words about the staff at the Frisco location. I schedule my husbands appointments every 2 weeks and when I do the everyone is amazing. The manager Alice is amazing. She's always nice and if there is a problem she corrects it with out hesitation. My husband had a last minute meeting Friday and I needed to get him in as soon as possible. She went above and beyond and got him in at the time I needed. It says a lot when the staff cares. y husband went there for a haircut. While there they asked him if he'd like a beard trim. He agreed and asked her to clean the sides and keep the length. They laid him back and put the hot towel over his face and got to work. Once they took off the towel he realized that they CUT OFF HIS BEARD!!! She took at least a years worth of growth off of it.
