Service I requested was a deluxe pedicure. The nail tech I had was quite rude I did not have my regular person. I had to request both large toesto be redone. I'm new to the area and called for an appointment after asking a random stranger who did her nails. She gushed about how much she loved the salon and even provided a recommended nail tech. Upon arrival I was immediately checked in and ushered to a large wall of nail polishes. I love the way the bottles are displayed. Very easy to see colors. Each shelf had 2 roles of color (regular & gel). How fabulous to have matching colors for gel and regular for those who might not want gel on toes. The salon is clean and fresh with large screen TVs on the walls around the room. All had large size captioning which made for easy reading. Contemporary Christian music played overhead and made for a relaxing atmosphere. The nail techs were thorough and meticulous. Probably the best manicure I've had in years. I typically get manicures every 2-3 weeks so my nails typically stay in good shape. The staff went the extra mile and spent additional time on cuticles and shaping nails. I'll definitely be back. This nail salon owner/manager Emmy Nguyen Dong aka My Phuong Dong is a crook, owed her nail techs(past and current) 6-10 weeks of payrolls back pay. They demanded for their payrolls and got nothing other than bunches of NSF checks and empty promises from the owner. They either had to quit or let go by the owner. Emmy then cut off their communication and refused to pay them up. Complaints had been filed with Texas Workforce Commission. Absolutely LOVE Aura. I always ask for Kieu when I schedule and it is always SUPER EASY. Every single time Kieu does my nails they always end up look amazing!! I always get tips with dip and usually crazy designs and it was affordable for the amount that i get on my nails. Kieu is absolutely hilarious and never makes me leave without a smile. I get my nails done every 2-3 weeks and my tech is always Kieu. I've tried different nail salons and techs in the neighborhood but she's the one and I was so bummed when she got sick one time that I had to have someone else do the job (which was good, but not as great as hers). She's very professional and I trust her skills 100%! She also helps me choose right colors and designs for a season/event. The salon is always clean and bright. I've been coming here for a year. I have always had a good experience. I do not have a particular tech that I go to, so I just work with whoever. I usually get just the basic mani pedi and sometimes I'll get it done with gel. My gel pedicures last about a month and my manicures last 2-3 weeks. A beverage is always offered so that is nice. It's calm, clean, and spacious in the salon with HGTV and Food Network always on the 5 televisions. There is not much chitchat which is fine with me. I want to share my experience so that no one else has to go through what we did. Last summer, my daughter got a pedicure here. They tried to take out her ingrown toenail, punctured the skin and it became infected. We have seen multiple doctors including a foot specialist who all confirmed this to be the case. I asked for them to cover her medical expenses. They refused to take responsibility, tried to get me to take a refund of the services and then told me they had to send my request to their lawyer and insurance. It's now almost a year past, I had followed up monthly with the owner who kept blaming how slow insurance is but never follows up. At this point, I'm calling it a hard lesson learned. I will definitely be back here! Well the first thing is that this place just opened up so everything is new here. I love how the interior of this salon is different than all the other salon I have been to so far, usually theres some yellow tinge/lighting with tons of chandeliers and etc... This place just felt more natural and comfortable. I came in to get a pedicure and the lady working on me (Laura I think) was extremely sweet and through. She took her time cutting my nails, exfoliating, and massaging (mind you she exfoliated and massaged from the calf down and this was just a regular pedi). The real reason I personally love this place is the lady who gave me the pedicure did a phenomenal job painting my toe nails. Usually places I have been to leave a little bit of nail exposed on the sides and bottom and I personally hate that. Got a nexgen manicure from a manicurist named Kieu. The job she did was fine, but the entire time she was being strangely antagonistic. It was a really uncomfortable and odd experience and I will not be returning. I'm a teenage girl and the whole time she was asking me weird and rude questions. She would ask me if i recognized any of the other girls in the salon and when I said no she said "you must not have any friends." She would also ask me where I worked / how much money I make, if I was popular, and if I had a boyfriend (when i said yes I do she said she was surprised.) She also told me I had ugly fingers??? It was truly odd, I think she was insecure or jealous because of all the girls there getting their nails done for Homecoming, as she was making rude comments about them to me as well? I got the organic pedicure and it was awesome! Probably one of the best pedicures I've gotten in a while. The lady took her time and was very nice. I will be coming back for sure **updated review- first time was the charm. Ive been here multiple times and they always seem to be rushing. This causes my nails to end up looking sloppy. Aura is the perfect place to go for some pampering. It's location is super convenient, and the atmosphere is so calm. The receptionist is very sweet and will take good care of you, she's also very knowledgeable about any questions you might have. I got Shellac nails and they turned out super cute, just in time for Christmas. Landon gave me the Deluxe Pedicure and it was delightful. He doesn't cheat you out of that 15 minute massage!! Felt heavenly and found myself very relaxed (maybe too relaxed lol). I didn't get the name of the girl that took care of my manicure but she did an excellent job and the overall staff is very friendly. Horrible. Came in with a friend. Halfway through the pedicure they finally offered us a drink. They did not offer sandals and put my own shoes on which I questined but they assured me jt was dry. I had to repaint my toes when I got home because they were smudged since they did not offer sandals or wait until my nails where dry. I would say if you are looking for great customer service to not come to this location. Employees seem very stressed and very rushed. I also noticed I was not offered any drinks as a new customer or welcomed while I noticed several other customers around me had been asked if they wanted a second drink. I would say the only way person that was kind to me seeing me coughing and brought me some water was the person who did my pedicure. She was the only person that was kind and did great work. I had a dip manicure with Emmy and it came out beautifully. I really enjoyed the staff and the salon was incredibly clean. I last went to a different nail salon where the manicure towels were being reused and instruments weren't being cleaned, but here they were absolutely meticulous about cleanliness and COVID protocol. Never going back there again. I had been going here for over a year. Until this time when my gel nails were over coated, causing them to peel off after 9 days. I took time out of my day to arrange childcare and drive all the way back to get it fixed. They only fixed the couple of nails that were peeled off - not the whole issue of all of them being painted on too thick. Then the guy at reception who goes by the name of Leo was extremely rude. Not even looking up to to talk me and had a very bad attitude. So rude! Nice when they get paid, but if you dare to say anything if they make a mistake, they treat you like you're in the wrong. Went here for the first time. Very disappointed. Asked for a basic manicure since my nails were short. It was done before I knew it. My fingers were soaked in marbles. Not sure what impact that had on my cuticles. But Tony said that they weren't so bad that's why he was done so quickly. No hand massage either. So this weekend I took the nail polish off and I could see where my cuticle were still evident. Plus the nail file he used was too rough from my natural nails. I was not happy.
