I received excellent care from both Dr. Hammond and Dr. Stone. All the hygienists have been wonderful, and the main billing coordinator was also fantastic. It saddens me that I have to change to a different dentist office. My biggest issue, only issue, has been communication--specifically, getting someone to answer the phone. Out of 15 calls made at various times, only one was answered. I received a text saying my crown was ready and to call the office, but again, no one picked up. I had to text back to schedule the appointment. When I experienced dental pain, I called and left a message because no one answered. I eventually got a call back two hours later--but by then, I had already found another dental clinic that could see me. Just this morning at 9:45 AM, I called to cancel all my future appointments and, once again, had to leave a message. If poor phone responsiveness doesn't bother you, I highly recommend this dental office--the dentists are truly excellent. read more

On October 30th I had a dentist apointment with Dr. Patrick Stone at Hammond Dental. Dr. Hammond, who is a fantastic dentist, wasn't available . I went in with a horrible toothache. I explained to Dr. Stone the pain I was in. They took xrays and he said other than being red and irritated on the gums by the bridge he didn't see anything. He prescribed some antibiotics for 7 days and sent me on my way. I picked up script but was still on horrible pain so I called back and asked the receptionist if he could give me a shot for the pain ,he said no. I took the script for 7 days and after finishing them the pain came back and within 2 weeks pain came back with a vengeance!! My cheek swelled up and I made an apointment with Dr. Hammond( ABSOLUTELY AMAZING DR.). I went into the office this afternoon, to ask for more antibiotics til I was to see Hammond tomorrow. As soon as the wonderful staff saw me they went back and told Dr. Hammond. He said get her in here immediately! I had a horrible infection under the bridge and an abcess! Dr. Hammond did a fantastic job of taking care of me! Can't say enough about him and his staff. BUT, AD FAR AS DR. STONE IS CONCERNED, I WOULDN'T TAKE MY DOG TO HIM! Amazing work. Today I had my top widome teeth removed. Dr. Hannon made sure I was comfortable by telling me "are you ready to wiggle those teeth out?" I am so impressed with Dr. Hammond and his staff. I had 2 implants done at home and the temporary was aggravating them. They got me in right away to check the implants and examine and adjust the temporary. Not only was the care excellent but their charge for their service was amazingly inexpensive. What a gentle and wonderful experience! I am a tense, white knuckle and teary eyed dental patient. Today, I was tense and slightly fearful knowing I would get a shot and hear the dreaded drill. However, Dr. Kimberly Thomas and assistant Amanda were very professional, caring and gentle! Dr. Hammond is personable and caring, however, when he is on vacation, office closes and no one is available to handle emergencies. Stephanie had wrong emergency number posted, so no call back. I always laugh when I tell my friends about Dr Hammond only because he's so awesome, and it's hard for them to believe any dentist can be that great. Usually when I thought about going to the dentist in the past I thought only about anxiety, stress, pain, and panic. That's until a great friend referred me here years ago. Dr Hammond Is patience and so caring. He explains everything before he does it, and if you are in any pain goes out of his way to make sure he can take that pain away before going any further. I joke with my kids that I think they'd get cavities on purpose just to come hang out with Dr Hammond. The office is so nice and have the most comfortable couches in the lobby if you have to wait while the kids are getting their work done. Best Dentist in my 40 years for sure. read more

Scheduled cleaning....woman who had cleaned my teeth for the last couple of years no longer there so was given Nicole without any advance notice. Nicole was unprepared and treated my cleaning like a "bull in a China shop". I was poked and stabbed multiple times by her tools. She didn't clean under my bridge while flossing. Additionally, she was coughing repeatedly, which made my experience even more unpleasant. Seems as though the office has trouble keeping competent help. As a prospective patient I inquired if they accepted my insurance, which they replied they did. After a routine exam and clean, I was shocked to receive a large invoice. All previous exams and cleaning have ALWAYS been 100% covered by insurance. Turns out my insurance states they are out of network. In all my 4 decades of medical/dental, a first for me. Perhaps they don't believe they should be forthcoming as previous communications have fallen on deaf ears. BUYER BEWARE, call your insurance carrier and make sure you are not being duped. read more

I have thought about this for a few days and decided I should leave this review. The few times I've been in doctor Hammond was very kind and very gentle. The front office staff has always been very polite and always helpful when it came to the bills. I was a little concerned a year ago when he was hesitant about doing a root canal but went ahead and did it anyhow only to have problems with it two months later and I had to go next door to his brother the oral surgeon to have the tooth removed. I chalked it up to a weird happening and forgot about it. I went in again couple weeks ago and he said I needed root canal. He said it was tricky but he could do it or he had someone that came to the office once or twice a month that could do it if I could wait a week or two. Well I figured if he was offering someone else that he wasn't completely comfortable doing it so I said I would wait. His front office staff had the estimate for me when I left. I thought the numbers sounded high so I called my insurance. Come to find out the specialist that would be visiting his office was not in network with my insurance which is Aetna, an extremely common insurance. My insurance company gave me the name of another specialist. I called and made an appointment with him and then called dr. Hammonds office and told them what I was doing because it was the difference between a $450 Bill versus an $1,100 bill. I told them that I was only having the root canal but would come back to their office for the crown and the rest of my work. The girl said no problem. When I got to The Specialist and signed in a week later I asked if they had my records. They said no because when they called dr. Hammons office he refused to send the referral and Records because I didn't go to the doctor he wanted me to go to. I was so shocked at his behavior. That was not putting the patient first at all. That caused me a lot of grief and stress to go through a root canal and pay for another set of X-rays. I was not happy with his behavior so I called his office and told them I would not be returning. There was no reason for him to act that way when I was coming back for the rest of my work, it was only because of the amount of money I would have to spend at his office with the specialist that I looked outside the office. So I guess everything worked out in the end because the specialist office went out of their way to take care of me that day when they saw how upset I was and they squeezed me into their schedule and gave me a crown the same day and didn't charge me for the x-rays. read more
