I recently had my nails done here for the first time. This was also my first time getting gel builder gel. The woman who did my nails clearly did not know how to use the gel builder products and was taking instruction from the woman next to her the entire time. My french tips ended up being very uneven and not very smooth. It was all in all not terrible but after having the nails for less than a week I noticed they were already lifting in the way edges! I have had my nails done a multitude of times and many of my sets have stayed on for 3-5 weeks or sometimes longer. I got SNS done here and was blown away by the huge variety of powders they offer, everything from metallics, glitters, and matte shades, you name it! I really love that this salon specializes in SNS because it's hard to find a place that takes natural nails seriously. I prefer to wear my real nails, but most salons try to push acrylics, which I'm not a big fan of because of how damaging they can be. I love this nail salon. The location is so convenient to the city yet tucked away so it's not too crowded. I always park right along the street. The staff is super friendly and easy to book with. I'm always taken care of. I usually get SNS with a design and my nails are longer so I always make an appointment if I know my service will take longer. If I'm getting something simple I'll just walk in, and I've never really had too much of an issue with wait times. My nails always last 2wks+. My most recent set lasted a full month!! My natural nails are long and whatever products they use have kept my nails strong and growing, that is why I have been so consistent with this salon. Their prices are also reasonable for the services and they do have a rewards system. *If you are someone who is particular or difficult when it comes to your nails then you need to book an appointment and properly tip your technician for their time and patience with you. I also love that they bow take Venmo and CashApp. I never carried cash for tip, so now I can Venmo them and be on my way. Only a place if you normally get SNS or gel . As i experienced, it's not a salon to get acrylic or full set. I told the lady what I wanted and even showed her a picture, she started off wrong from the start and when I politely kept trying to tell her it's not right , she would tell me it is or or she fix it , and would start talking mess to her other workers, that they would come walk over up to my booth to take a look at my nails acting like something was funny. I have tried three times and each time the service is worse. The first time they comped me. The second time I just tried a polish change, I brought my own polish and it was fine. Today I dared a regular pedicure. The woman who greeted me and the technician tried to upsell me the whole time and when I declined, made a point that it's only "$6 dollars more"...which felt condescending. I was finished under 20 minutes. She skipped the massage (quickly just applied lotion) and polished. The polish is either all over my skin or half on my nails. I did not notice until I got home and looked more closely. I could have saved $40 and done it myself. There are many other nail salons in Brookhaven---go there. read more

Stay away from this place. I wanted to love it because I live down the street. I take incredibly good care of my nails. With that being said, I walked into this nail salon and asked for a simple pedicure. I was assigned to an older lady which wasn't my issue, but it felt as if she was struggling. Struggling to buff, file, and paint. The arthritis in her little fingers looked so painful. I was uncomfortable because I felt as if I wanted to put her in my chair and take care of her. I don't get to go out much and when I do, I want to relax. She was a fragile little lady with arthritis clearly affecting her fingers. After she poked and prodded my toes, I honestly couldn't wait for her to finish. I left but I had a strange dull pain in one of my toes. I persisted for sometime and after a few weeks, THE ENTIRE toenail came off--Literally just peeled right off. I went to the doctor's office and I'm still struggling to get inflammation down even after two courses of antibiotics. I'm really trying to like this salon. They are super convenient to me and I almost always get seated without a wait. The quality of your nails really depends on the tech you get. I have to complain about the older gentlemen nail tech. I'm a plain jane and almost always get square pink or pink and white. Don't know how that is able to be messed up but he always manages to do so. I'm not sure if there is too big of a language barrier but he never does what I ask for. I always ask for square - but he never does that for me. He always gives me this rounded "square" that I absolutely hate. I end up going home and reshaping them myself. I ask for a little trim and he always saws the whole nail extension off making them way too short. The first time I asked for my normal pink and white and he gave me this monstrosity of pink and white with bright pink instead of the normal light/natural pink, horrible shaping and way too short and costs me almost $70. Today I went in and asked for Bubble Bath pink with ONE coat of the silver on my ring fingers for a *little* sparkle. He decided he wanted to paint the whole finger silver, didn't put any pink on it like I had asked and I paid $57. Not what I asked for. Also attached is what I normally get for reference of how terrible he does on my nails. All the other woman do a great job and do what I actually ask for but he is TERRIBLE. I came here on a Saturday & just wanted a pedicure. My friend and I waited in the chairs for quite some time until we were seen. I had gel on my toes from another shop & wanted to go back to normal polish. I was told it was $7 to take the gel off, which was the nail tech running a drill over my toes to get it off (not a soaking off). I have never heard of any nail shop charging to take off gel if you are getting another service. If i was just taking the gel off and not getting a pedicure, I could see charging me but when I was getting a service I wasn't expected to be charged. " 30 minutes of unique 'Me ' time " I ventured out for a pedicure as a solo new year's treat to myself and I am so glad I did! Hammond Nails of Brookhaven doesn't disappoint with every one of my family's visits and this one, by myself, didn't disappoint after all this time - and it has been a long time (pre the last lockdown)! It turns out They were waiting for me on my allotted appointment time as entry is limited. Luckily, I scored a parking spot on the street right by their front door! I quickly realized that They have adapted their sanitation and safety precautions to the current pandemic environment. As soon as I entered, Everyone from staff to customers had a mask on and I was directed to wash my hands at the dedicated hand sink that also had paper towels and sanitizer. I walked by the nail technicians who had plexiglass barriers between their workstation and their customers - which was nice to see! Ambiance wise, The music in the shop was light mid tempo songs and not overbearing at all while Strict social distancing was being enforced as the next two chairs beside me were out of service. Upon sitting down on my massager chair, the fantastic technician, Tuan, came over making sure my hands were sanitized. Glancing at the pedicure menu she presented me, I treated myself to the Cadillac of pedicures on the menu, the option 3 (which was the $38 super deluxe pedicure package) - and...- wow! My feet felt and looked brand new! It might seem A little bit on the pricier side for a men's pedicure to some, but just consider it as treating yourself just like I did hehehe. For about a full half hour, I had the full spa experience, well - at least the express speedy version!!! . I've tried many nail salons. My main goal is seeking a nail tech that could help to get my nails back strong again as they were very weak/brittle due to the constant use of acrylic fill-ins. What caught my attention was of course the positive reviews and the location which is less than 10 mins from my residence. There were many nail techs mentioned in the reviews but the one tech that stood out most was Hannah. Hannah has been such the life saver. Prior to me trying out the salon I had encounters a very bad nail fungus on 4 of my nail beds two on each hand from the salon that I had been going to prior. Hannah was able to treat my nails and ultimate convince me to do away with tips and acrylic use and try SNS. I've been wanting to try the SNS technique but when the time came I'd always revert back to the acrylic. This time I decided to suck it up and do something different. Boy oh boy am I glad I did!! Hannah has been doing my nails for the past 3 months and I couldn't be happier. My nails are much stronger and have grown like crazy. Good riddance to the fake nails and acrylic. I'm finally free! I see why SNS has been so popular. Hammond Nails has over 100 SNS colors and majority have the matching gel or regular polish so that you can match your toes. Oh yeah, for those that are not aware, SNS is a vegan product. So what's the cost?!?... its a little more than gel and acrylic. Expect to pay $42 each visit and if you want a design on your nails that's extra as well. I was also introduced to this solar cat-eyed polish. You basically put it on top of your nail color and they use a magnet which creates a cat eye look on your nails. You have to see it in person to understand, but it's pretty darn neat. Google it (wink). I received a lot of compliments when I got it done a month ago. If I'm not mistaken it cost $3 per nail. Lastly, there are a variety of pedicure packages. I always get the sports pedicure ($30) which is very relaxing. They also offer hair removal services (oh la la)..They are the definition of a one stop shop! You'd check in using your registered phone number during each visit to earn points and after so many points you are rewarded with free and/or discounted services. This was my first time getting SNS. The last time I had fake nails was for senior prom so there was a little sticker shock with the price. I called ahead and asked and was told 42 but upon checkout she rang it up as 52. When I asked about the discrepancy I was told it would have been 42 with no tips. I would have appreciated if that was communicated during our earlier conversation as they made it sound like 42 was a firm price. Simply stating "they start at 42" would have rectified that. Nevertheless, I loved my nails. The shape and the color were perfect. Hannah did a great job and was very meticulous in shaping them. My pedicure came out great too. And my nails have held up very nicely (see pics). I'm a couple days shy of it being 4 weeks and they still look great. They get bonus points for having a rewards program. I had an appt. for 6 on a Friday and was seated promptly. They did my mani and pedi at the same time so I didn't have to wait which was much appreciated. If you go during the weekend parking can be somewhat scarce but if you're willing to do a few laps and walk a few blocks you'll find something. Hammond Nails is located in a cute part of Brookhaven, on a shopping strip. During busy hours (lunch, dinner, etc), parking might be hard to find since there are a lot restaurants and shops in the same strip. If you so choose, there is valet parking available. After circling around a couple times, I realized that there was an adjacent parking deck behind the strip and the ground spaces - you just have to leave the parking area, go back out into the street and up into the parking deck - it's free. Everyone at Hammond nails was professional from the moment I walked in. Pricing is very competitive - $30 for a solid gel manicure. They have good quality gel brands such as OPI.... lots and lots of colors to choose from. My manicurist was Kevin - he took his time with my nails and didn't look at all frustrated when the biogel (really sturdy Japanese gel) from my previous manicure took forever and a day to get off. My only gripe was that at one point he was filing my old gel off so much and so fast that it actually burned my nail bed and was quite painful. It hurt for a while, which is my only reason for giving 4 stars..... not really his fault... blame it on the tough polish I had on before. Otherwise he was gentle and did a really good job with getting my entire nail. Some places don't even go all the way to the edge. I was happy with the outcome here. The place is always very clean and spacious. It's not your dirty ol' nail salon, that's for sure. I really like this nail spot in Brookhaven area. I am extremely picky about my managers. I have a really long and thin nailbed which is kind of hard to paint and recently I have made the switch from gel/shellac to SNS! I will never go back to gel - SNS has enabled my nails to grow in a really healthy manner. PLUS you down need the UV light ( which is still question its safety ) That said it takes talent to get the manicure right shape them and create a nice thin look that I like. this place gets 3 stars because they have some awesome nail techs but also some HORRIBLE ones as well. I've only been to this salon a handful of times but 2 BAD experiences stand out. 1st one was when the gal I usually go to, Serena, was busy. Another tech did my nails and OMG it was horrible. Serena could tell i was unhappy and literally took everything off and re-did everything. She even admitted it was a sub-par job. Plus the other tech looked grumpy and pissed that she had to work. 2nd (and last time), I decided to try SNS and they looked great. HOWEVER, it started to lift a little after a week. Would have loved to review this salon, as by the full house on a Thursday night, I'm sure they do great, quality work. However, upon my arrival I was told a 10 minute wait for SNS. Which I was suppose was partially correct-- I spent about 10 mins in the waiting area until I was moved to a manicure table, where I proceeded to wait another 20+ minutes without being provided any update on my wait time. I don't mind waiting, but I do mind my time being disrespected. PRO TIP- if you know the wait will be over 10minutes, don't say it will be. I'd I had known I'd have to wait triple the wait time, I would have happily left to go to another salon where my time wouldn't be wasted, and would probably even offer me water during my wait. When I finally got up to leave, I was also surprised by the poor customer service-- the receptionist asked if I was leaving, and when I told her yes, all she said was sorry. You would think there would be some effort for customer retention, or communication if there was such an increase in wait time, but no. NADA. Literally every chair was filled and all the nail techs were workin'! I did have to wait about 15-20 minutes for my turn to get my gel manicure and spa pedicure but I will say they did not do a bad job at all. I was concerned that the techs I got would be tired or rushed but they both were pleasant. About $53 in total which is average for Atlanta.
