I was referred to Daisy, yet Ava called to confirm my appointment & she ended up servicing me, as Daisy is off on Sundays. Stepping outside of my comfort zone in seeing my go to Technicians, Ava made me feel welcomed & conformable. First thing up, sign in & get your temperature taken. UT&BW takes both appointments & walk-ins with the appointments being serviced first. This strip mall salon for all intents and purposes is neat, constantly be disinfected after clients with relaxing decor in both the waiting & threading areas as well as inside the treatment rooms. Ava gave me a quick intro of what to expect, provided an assessment of what I actually need to have done oppose to focusing on upselling services. All sorts of waxing was quick, efficient & painless. First time clients receives a special discount as I wasn't paying attention to my Check-In reward, offers touch-less payments & prefers tips in cash. I was curious so I stopped in. I was in the market for some place new. EARLY TIP: BRING CASH. You can only use you card if the charge is greater than 10 dollars. Eyebrow threading is only 8 so you see the dilemma. Anyway, I was greeted and serviced by Eva. Spoiler: She did an amazing job. I requested the thread and tinting. My eyebrows were on their usual worst behavior - grown out and thin. Geez, the genes guys, the genes. Before she started she asked what my preference for shaping was. I explained I liked them medium with an arch. She delivered. The threading was painless. She achieved the look on the first go around. Next was the tinting. She asked the color, I sat for about 2 minutes after application and viola they were done. The pricing was pretty standard. 8 for threading, 25 for threading and tinting. She's very sweet and helped calm my nerves last time. Of the three times, I think the most painless experience was with her. Sadly, she wasn't there when I came today. I found out that the ladies rotate locations so maybe I'll set up an appointment to ensure I get Minaz again. The other ladies are highly skilled and nice too. They threaded quickly and was very thorough. I found the chairs slightly uncomfortable. Especially the bar that acts as a neck rest. But it might just be how threading chairs are like, I'm not sure. My first rime here and I went In for their Brazilian sugaring...it was not sugaring at all. It was just waxing with strips and I was not okay with that. Should I had just up and left, yes but I was already laying down and naked bottom down. And which by the way, she just opened the door wide where everyone that would have had walked by, could see all of me...all...of...me ‍ She was rough which made it more painful and I just wanted it to be over. I am so glad that I found this place. One of my friends stopped by and said she had a great experience with Alma so I booked an appointment with her the next day. She is amazing! All of the ladies that work at Unique are very nice and professional. The building and all of the waxing rooms are consistently very clean, modern and have TVs. I frequent Unique for Brazilian waxes and Alma is great at what she does. She's extremely thorough and personable during from when you walk in to when you exit. Would 10/10 recommend her and I plan to keep returning. You don't need a Groupon! The walk-in price for a Brazilian (first time customer) is just as cheap. There's plenty of free parking and it's very pretty and clean inside, everyone wears uniforms. Reema led me to a private room and told me it's sugaring, not wax. I freaked out a little because I think hard wax is less painful but... Did it hurt? Absolutely. But Reema made me extremely comfortable which is half the battle. She doused me with baby powder (which prevents sweat) and asked me to assume the butterfly position. It's actually less awkward than the contortionist positions some places put you in. The warm sugar and compress feels good. But the hair ripped from your skin is really bad. I asked myself, "Why would we pay to torture ourselves?" But the pain only lasts about five seconds and then it's fine. Until she moved on to the next section. But sugaring lasts way longer than shaving and the whole process was over in about ten minutes. Then came the upsell. "We do threading." I don't have enough brows. "We do eyebrow tinting which last for two weeks". I'd need it to last forever. "We do facials. It's normally $60 but we offer 20% off for a first time customer... But for you, since you're already here, we can make it 25% off". I thought $45 for some much needed pampering, "Why not?" She seemed as surprised as I was. She'd tricked me into the top of the line 'Skin Brightening Diamond Facial.' It's an hour long (which should have clued me in that this wasn't a basic facial) with organic ingredients. I was led into the facial room and told to undress from the top up. Whaaaa? They also wrap your hair in a shower cap and towel. Goodbye hairstyle. The lights were dimmed and it felt like a 25 step process. I was counting at first. 1. Massage of neck, face and shoulders. 2. Put cold stuff on my face, massaged in and wiped it off. 3. More cold stuff applied, massaged in and wiped off. 4. Cleansing 5. Exfoliation I don't know what the other 20 steps were because I went to sleep around step 15. But I woke up to a needle pricking my nose and chin! She was extracting the white heads from my pores. It hurt for two days but my skin glowed afterwards. And my sensitive skin didn't break out. I probably won't get another facial because it's pricey without the discount. But I was relaxed afterwards so it was definitely worth it. I still prefer hard wax but if I ever desire sugaring, this will be my spot! read more

I decided to try this place for a Brazilian and I thoroughly enjoyed it. When you come in you sign in on an iPad which was neat to me. I havent seen that before in a wax salon. All their waxes are made out of sugars which at first I was like ok, cool whatever. But it didn't hurt and is safer and not as harsh on you skin. I'm one of the most jumpiest clients when it comes to waxing. They made me feel so comfortable and idk if it was in my head or the sugar wax they used but it did not hurt like I expected it to. I was so relieved my nerves calmed down just a lil (no accidental kicks this time ) If you plan on making this a regular spot for you ask for there frequent customer card. After 9 visits and stamps on the cars your 10th Brazilian will be free. I plan on coming back for another Brazilian and I may even try their threading next time. I came across this gem a while ago. I only get the eyebrow threading service but they also offer body waxing as well. This was my third time coming. Each time I am satisfied with the service. They are very good about asking what you want. I've been trying to achieve a certain look and thickness to my brow so typically I just say "keep the thickness & clean the lines". Perfect every time. On my last visit I purchased Lavender Bath Salts! Love! So relaxing. But I must say the only reason I had to purchase this is because there is a $10 minimum charge not including tip. I may be a poor reviewer of an eyebrow place since I'm not particularly picky about the shape of my brows. As long as they're clean, I really don't care how arched one part of it is. Also, I have a scar on my right eyebrow so I have some realistic expectations for the symmetry of my brows. Like Abbi from Broad City says, "I figured out my eyebrows. They're sisters, not twins." Convenient and close to my work, they do eyebrow threading for $8 and upper lip threading for $4. There are other places closer to where I live that I've seen doing eyebrow threading for $4-$6 and upper lip threading for $4. I did go to one of those cheaper places near me (it shall not be named) and ended up with some super thin 90s eyebrows so I've been a little paranoid since then. When I first walked through the door at around 1 PM on a Thursday, someone directed me to the sign-in sheet and told me to give them a minute. After she answered a quick phone call, she took me back to her chair and began working on my brows. She was quick but admittedly, a little rough. I felt like this round hurt a lot more than what I usually get, but it has been a while so my skin may just be sensitive. Overall, this location has a steady stream of people coming in and out. Since it's in a plaza, it shares a parking lot with other businesses but I have never found it difficult to find parking. The skinny: - $8 for brows and upper lip for $4, reasonable pricing but you can find cheaper if you're willing to drive a little. - Located in a plaza so parking is easy peasy. - You can get a frequent customer card for brows if this becomes your go-to place! read more

It has since been three weeks, and while some of my eyebrows have grown back, the area that was cut has not shown any new growth and my eyebrow is misshapen. I recommended visiting this establishment when you know you have a great tech you can see every time, like Ash. Have been going on and off for a year and after the recent butchering, unfortunately I will not return. We discussed specifically what should not be done, and the tech did it anyway, and then some. I was left with three bleeding cuts (she broke the thread twice) and immeasurably uneven brows. I'm embarrassed and disappointed. The owner offered rectification and to return in two weeks. A thread above the rest! This was my first visit here and I was happy to have stumbled across it. I have been wanting a place where I could come to get my eyebrows shaped on a consistent basis. I have been butchering my own brows for years now and needed an expert to help shape them and get them to look the way I like them. I was happy that they were able to take me, as a walk-in. When you walk in you are greeted to a front desk that has a divider behind it, products for sale on your left, and a coffee/tea bar on the right. Behind the divider are 3 brow stations and a hallway that leads you to the waxing rooms. I loved that it was clean, neat, and very girly. And the beautiful chandelier lighting fixtures gave the place an added touch of class. I didn't wait long to be serviced. It only took about 7 minutes for my brows to be fixed and I was on my way. It doesn't cost much to get your brows threaded...about $8 and they offer extras like brow polish, brow tints, facials, and waxing. I think what stands out the most about this place is that they have coupons and discounts that give you incentives to come back to their salon. I used to go to this place to get my eyebrows done regularly, then stopped for a while, and decided to get my eyebrows done there today as I'm going on vacation tomorrow. The lady that did my eyebrows today destroyed my eyebrows that I had been growing for months. My eyebrows are not very full or thick so it has taken over six months to grow them out. The lady today got rid of, at least, half the thickness of my eyebrows and if that wasnt bad enough, they are not even EVEN. I couldnt bring myself to tell her because she was very nice but I actually cried my whole drive home because I will not be able to go out in public without filling my eyebrows for months now and it'll take even longer for my eyebrows to grow back to what they were. I had to go buy castor oil to try to make the hair growth process quicker. She said she was just going to clean them but she got rid of half my brows. Can management please make sure that whoever they hire is actually competent and/or give them the right training so nobody else goes through this? I had never seen her there before and she probably should not be touching anyone's brown. I'm literally broken. Maybe for future practice, they should incorporate outlining the eyebrow shape with eyebrow pencil, show the customer to make sure we're okay with it, and then only thread what was approved by the customer. read more

This place has really become hit or miss for me. My regular waxer is no longer working there which almost made me find another place to get waxed. However I decided I would give the other ladies another shot. I am still not satisfied. Some are better than others though. 2 visits ago, it was great. No complaints. On my most recent visit all looked good until I got home and noticed several hairs that were missed. On top of that they have raised their prices. The sticker advertisements on the window still show old pricing but when you check out you'll be surprised when they ring you up at a higher price. I would suggest they lead with that before performing the service ("Just so you know the price is now so and so. I just wanted you to be aware."). I am probably going to give another place closeby a chance to see if they are at least consistent with the quality of service. Such a bummer because I really did like this place. read more

UPDATE: They took action to apologize for their lack of care. I love Unique waxing and go to the buckhead location all the time. I would not recommend going to this location. Before starting my threading appointment, I mentioned to the lady not to rub my skin with the thread because it tends to peel it (an experience I've had here in the past). She said she would be gentle. During my appointment I could feel my lip kind of wet, and I mentioned to her that she cut me and it was bleeding. She insisted she had done nothing of the sort, and later that day my Upper lip was scarred (picture included). What annoyed me the most about this was that she didn't apologize or acknowledge that she made a mistake even though i had warned her earlier and pointed out the bleeding. I called and made an appointment for sugaring (lower legs). Unfortunately I found out the hard way, despite what their website says, they do not offer "sugaring." They offer sugar WAX -- applied like regular roll on wax and removed with strips. The act of "sugaring" refers to applying a room-temperature paste made of sugar or honey and water to skin and removed like hard wax. What they're using and advertising (and charging for) as "sugaring" is simply a sugar-based wax. Additionally, it was applied hot, not room temp; so hot in fact that she burned me on the first application. I would have given 3 stars because despite being annoyed, the service itself was fine, and the woman was apologetic that the website is misleading. However, had I not checked and stopped her, I would have walked out with hair all over my knees, ankles and multiple patches on both legs because she said she was "done" and cleaned up without checking or asking me to check. Also, unlike with real sugaring, my legs are red and bumpy -- which is to be expected after WAXING, and is why I wanted sugaring, and not waxing done. read more

This is my first time visiting the Briarcliff location and I'm so glad I found out that they have another location that's even closer to me. I was serviced by Mini and she's done the best job from any Sugar Brazilian Wax that I have ever gotten. She was thorough and made sure to do a great job. No hair was left behind. She was also very patient and gentle with the task at hand. I will be returning again to this location in the future because of her. You also cannot beat the steal of a $30 Brazilian wax anywhere. I walked in around 7pm and was immediately seated for my eyebrow threading ($8). Unique is super clean and sanitary. The staff use hand sanitizer before and after your treatment.
