I asked him for a quote. It took two weeks to get a quote. I went with someone else to fix my car. Seems like a nice guy. I just don't think he really cares to do any work. I mean, I don't know. I didn't understand it. I went to his shop and told him exactly what I needed showed him pictures and asked for a price then he said send me the bin and I sent him the van and it's still took him over two weeks and he was $3000 more than the other guy on the quote so I don't know if he does good work or not read more

I took my 2008 Chevrolet Impala back to Hamm's Body Shop in Four Oaks, NC for paint blend correction and matching on the right side of the car. It was not painted correctly the first time he painted it and I addressed this with the owner. After talking with him on the phone, and with his consent, I sent him some pictures of the right side of the car taken with a 35mm Nikon digital camera in the sunlight from several angles to ensure an accurate view of the paint issue. He responded by indicating there did appear to be some places that did not match, which included the door handles, the body side molding, the rocker extension, and the right end of the rear bumper cover. However, where he blended the paint, about mid-way of the right from door, it was splotchy and there was a difference in the paint shade. He offered a refund, but I told him that he came highly recommended and that I did not want the refund, but wanted and expected my car to be painted to match correctly. He said he would correct it and I agreed and returned the car. After a few days, the car was ready and I went to pick up my car. The above items matched much better, but he indicated he really did not see any blend issues. I asked him did I owe anything else, out of courtesy, and to my distaste, wanted to charge me another $100.00 to cover the cost of materials. It was cloudy for a few days, I did not see any difference in the blend, and felt satisfied it was corrected. However, later, while sitting in direct sunlight, I noticed the blend had not been corrected, making the right front fender and part of the right front door lighter in shade than the remainder of the right side of the car. Based on his comments regarding the number of times painting for a match issue, he indicated I could not be satisfied. I have since taken my car to an I-CAR Gold Class repair facility and they did indicate the car appeared to have not been painted correctly. I also had others look at the car, not telling them what was wrong, and they pointed out that the right side of the car didn't match. I returned the car to the I-CAR Gold Class repair facility and it has since been repainted; the right side sheet metal, door moldings, right side rocker panel, and rear bumper. The paintwork was exceptional and all match issues were resolved. Additionally, the paint was blended on the right rear quarter panel and there are NO match issues! It's perfect! The owner of Hamm's should have been able to do the same quality of work, especially after he claimed to the BBB he did quality work. As a note, when he received my complaint to the Better Business Bureau, his response was not of concern regarding correctly painting my car, but rather how it damaged his reputation. He asked the BBB if he refunded my money, would it make the complaint go away. In my opinion, he refused to refund the price as retaliation for reporting it to the Better Business Bureau.
