We were willing to chalk it up as a loss at that point but he still needed a car inspection. The employee who does the state inspections plugged in the machine and all of the alerts on the dashboard turned on. The employee said he'd never seen anything like it and couldn't do anything about it. He sent us on our way with a check engine light on that is now our problem. Long story short, this place will unapologetically overcharge you and does not care about their customers. He turned the wipers on, literally admitted he couldn't hear anything, and told me to go back to the lobby. However, after he went and "talked to his boss," he suddenly changed his story and claimed it was failing. They took me out to the car a second time. Even though there was absolutely zero noise, they tried to gaslight and bully me into believing the wipers were bad so I would pay for their overpriced replacements on the spot. I refused the high-pressure upsell, paid the inspection fee, and drove directly to another local auto repair shop in town. My car passed the North Carolina state inspection at the second mechanic immediately, with zero issues. Based on my experience, the management here forces their mechanics to fake safety failures to squeeze customers for extra money.
